Sean blends very well for the fades and will add his own signature touches to your cut. He is very attentive to how you want your hairstyle and will check in with you whenever options arise (such as how you want the bangs to hang after the cut, lining up, etc.) A regular men's cut will be $25, and cut with line up is $35. I use to come here a few years ago and I was always pleased. I came by today right after work, Down the street and I guess they decided to close 15mins early. I know it was close to closing but I really needed a haircut since my normal girl got into a car accident and had to cancel last min. Experienced and friendly barber who did a great fade for just $25 in under 20 minutes! I've been looking for a new barber, having grown sick of being shuffled around 'puppy mill' glam salons whose good workers constantly leave and charge 45 bucks or more for mediocrity. Sean was great! Gave me exactly what I was looking for, helped offer suggestions where I wasn't sure and worked with the speed and precision of a man who has 10+ years of experience under his belt (because he does!). Didn't argue with me about leaving it longer or suggest unwanted tips to make it look 'more feminine' as I usually have to struggle with at other places. He wore a mask, which I appreciated. Regardless of where you stand on COVID, I like barbers who mask up because - honestly, if you're going to be leaning in and breathing on me for 20+ minutes while you work, I like the shield from ANY potential germs! The one negative comment about the price seems CRAZY to me, because big salons charge double what Sean did. I looked up the pricing beforehand and brought 40$ cash and let him have the whole thing in tip, because that's usually what I'm charged anyway. At the time of writing, his salon is doing some expansion/construction, so I don't recommend trying a walk-in, as it's pretty much just him there from what I can tell. Definitely easy to book online as it helps show availabilities. I was able to get an appointment the day of on a Monday. Just moved to the area so it was a convenient walk over. There is actually another barber shop at the corner, which I actually accidentally went into only to realize afterwards I entered the wrong one. I was surprised by the setup here, for haircuts there's just a single chair in a small portion of a large floorspace that has a bunch of other grooming services available. The haircutter was a woman who kept falling over herself and leaning on me for support. :/ very uncomfortable. She went over my scalp with a hair trimmer very roughly in what seemed to me like 50-60 passes. The same was repeated with a beard trimmer for my face. I ended up feeling like a sheep at the shearing pen. If this was my only option, I'd prefer cutting my own hair in front of the mirror at home. Avoid at all costs. read more

Despite the stereotypes, mama Sean pulled through- her English may not be great, but her haircuts are! It's silly that there's all these dudes waiting (about 8 of them) for Sean when his mother can give you an excellent fade and a line up in under 20 min, with little to no line.. Been cutting my own hair all of my life. But was running late to an event and really needed a quick cut. Found Sean on line because he is less than 10 mins from my house. Sean took me as a walk-in on a Friday night. He faded my hair, lined me up with a razor blade and it looked sweet. All of this in less than 20 minutes. He talked to me the whole time, made sure I was ok with each thing he was doing to my head. Seems like he really cares, knows hair and so forth. I will be back. I paid $20 plus tip. Only $1 a minute, I saw many comments about pricing you all need to pay by time/difficulty not based on head size. Sean is my go-to barber. Pricing is fair and he'll cut your hair how you want it. Shop is ran by him and his mom (I've only had her cut me once but she wasn't bad either). The only downside is that he doesn't do appointments and there are random times when his shop is closed or the phone isn't answered so I don't know if the shop is open or not. read more

I went in at 9.15 on a Saturday (since I didn't have my salon professional academy). There were 3 people in front of me. It took me around 40 minutes of waiting (not bad). And I sit on the chair, the lady says "No card.. only cash" and when I tried asking her again she was like "NO!". Was not even friendly enough for me to think of other options. Luckily I had cash. The cut was decent, but she was very reluctant to use scissors. In the previous 3 haircuts she did, I did not see her use scissors. It was all using trimmer.. BOOM.. BOOM.. BOOM.. and out in 10 mins. My hair requirements are simple nothing fancy. I have always been charged the base price(If they say the cut starts from 15+ I will always be charged 15). She charged me $18 (base was 15). After my dreadful experience at "Mr. T's" Barber shop, I had to follow up with another haircut to get my hair fixed after the butchering. I happened to come across this barber shop on yelp and decided to give it a try. OH MY GOD! I think I have found "The One barber to rule them all". Sean is the definition of a great barber. FIRST time in my LIFE I was actually pleased with my hair cut!!! He gave me a warm welcome and we introduced ourselves to each other. During the haircut we had a good conversation. He was funny and down to earth! He explained to me what he was doing every step of the way, which made the haircut really educational for me and gave me a sense comfort. He takes time to really look at your hair before jumping in. Sean definitely stands out from all the other barbers with he's outstanding customer service. Overall I had a GREAT experience, I would go as far as to say that it was my BEST experience yet, he really made me happy and put a smile on my face. My son likes getting designs in his haircut, and it's been hard finding a place that does them. We called Sean's to ask, and when we found out Sean does designs, we drove straight over. My son wanted an elaborate Golden State Warriors logo, and I figured it would be way too complicated. Sean took a look and made it happen. You would not expect much from a small shop on the side of stores you would probably never visit. Sean was on lunch when I showed up and who I found out later was her mom greeted me with a warm smile and said her son would be back. Sean shows up and given the referral from my previous co-worker I was excited to see what he could do. Sean was hilarious, he talked about his family, and gave me wisdom. You can not believe how hard working this guy is. His ability to multitask was great and his customer service was superior as he asked me through each step of my hair cut how I liked it. I went for a 1.5 on the top, mid bald razor fade, and lined up and was not disappointed. Overall the cut was excellent, I spent maybe 45 minutes and there was not wait time. I still recommend calling in advance because Sean did mention he can get busy or not be at the store due to conflicting work schedules. Overall Sean was an amazing barber and I appreciated his hair cut. Usually I spend anywhere from $20-25 for a hair cut but at $15+2 tip. This place was banging for the money. Took my son. Efficient haircut and good skill. My son got a short cut and those can make it harder to hide errors but in this case it was well done. Minus one star for the sign stating they take cash only and for charging $18 for kids' haircuts. Kids' haircuts should cost no more than $12-$15. I can see charging $18 in a high rent area like Palo Alto. But in Santa Clara that's unacceptable. read more

I saw the good reviews here and decided to find myself a reliable barber after I moved into the area recently. Bitterly disappointed. I see that the reviews are good for Sean himself but he wasn't available when I went in. The lady that cut my hair did a bad job. Her cutting skill itself is good and uniform but she has no sense of how a cut would look on a particular person. I'd asked for a particular cut since I know my hair and how it'd look but she proceeded to cut in the way she thought would be best. At the end of it, the cut looks terrible for a $18 cut. If your hair is extremely good and won't affect your look much if it's not exactly how you want it, I'd recommend the place. Otherwise, if your hair needs are particular, this isn't the place. Perhaps Shaun might be, but I wouldn't know since he didn't cut my hair and I don't intend on going back again to find out. read more
