This place was A LOT better than I expected. We ordered and got it to go (no way I can eat inside with all that smoking going on - which is why it was minus that 1 star). The food was excellent though....waffle, corned beef hash, and scrambled eggs with cheese were all on point and hit the spot. Good place to stop for breakfast when traveling on the road. read more

I've passed this restaurant almost over a hundred times and never though about going here. Finally had a meeting in the area so I decided to try this place. Surprisingly they still do have a smoking and a nonsmoking inside of the building. The smell is not strong from the smoking side. The menu has a lot on it except for biscuit and gravy. I was going for the waffle anyways. The waffle was light and fluffy. The corn beef hash was on point. I haven't had it in a long time and missed it. They didn't put any seasoning on the grits or eggs and they forgot the silverware out of our Togo food. Make sure and check your Togo bag before you leave! We had to wait for the next group to come back from ordering to eat because they didn't put any in the bag. Great place just make sure and check for silverware and have salt on hand. read more

I drove past this place at least hundred times and every time it was packed!!! I love waffles and love going to new places to try waffles. So finally I went here with my family. The waffles were so good that I ordered two and keep eating it even I was full! I got the custom peanut butter sauce. I order the country ham and two eggs with waffles. The country ham was salty. My husband had the hash browns and he really liked his meal. My daughter got grits, bacon and eggs and she enjoyed it but it wasn't the best grits she ever had. Now- the servers are super sweet, constantly making sure you had a full cup of coffee, that everyone was enjoying their meals and offering good meals. Down side- the bathrooms are disgusting. There is a smoking side once you enter but once you go to the non smoking side you can't smell it which is weird, because I have a great sense of smell. read more

Mr. Waffle is pretty much a better, more efficient, and delicious Waffle House. Now don't get me wrong, I love me some Waffle House but Mr. Waffle is on point! Everything is sooo fresh. I mean we watched them take out the homemade sausage patties, I didn't even know that was a thing! Haha! Sausage egg and cheese was delish and the waffles of course were amazing. Super fluffy and practically melt in your mouth! Everything on the menu sounded great and was really cheap. We got 2 waffles, a sandwich, and coffee and it was 12$, can't go wrong there. I've driven by this place many times and finally decided to try it out. Yes you can judge a book by its cover. Just as crappy inside as outside. Just slightly better version as Waffle House but not as nice as Huddle House. The menu was just as crappy as Waffle House. But the food was better. The cook understood what dark and crispy hashbrowns meant. The waitress was friendly and attentive. WARNING this place allows smoking inside. BLECH!!! Would have given only 1 star because of the smoking, but the intelligence of the cook and great waitress gave it 2 more stars. read more

This is a great little greasy spoon restaurant and it's reminds me Flo from Mel's Dinner without the Mel. The food is like 7.8 out 11 stars. The place is somewhat clean for older dinner. I was a bit hesitant about visiting Mr. Waffle after reading the reviews and saw they had a smoking section. However, my family and I was traveling back home to Charlotte and decided to stop...and I'm glad we did. We sat in the non-smoking section and there was a faint scent of smoke,but not enough to be troublesome. The food was delicious, waffles some of the best I've tasted and the facilities very clean. Our waitress was attentive and the food was prepared on a timely manner. I did not give it five stars because I think there is always room for improvement. But if you're traveling on I-85 stop at Mr. Waffles, you won't be disappointed. read more

Pretty much what you'd expect from an all night waffle shop. The food was good and the service was friendly. We had breakfast but if we stopped again, would probably try one of the melts or a burger. They look good. If you sit at the counter, you can watch them cook which is pretty entertaining. A couple of things to note. It's a diner stuck in 1972 so adjust your expectations to match. I pass Mr. Waffle sometimes on my way to work and I've always wanted to stop and try it. Today was the day we made it happen, and I'm glad we did! When you first walked in you were greeted by a sign that shows you which side of the restaurant has smoking. Now, I'm not sure if this is a common thing in the area, but it's the first time in a very long time that I've seen this. Although there were people smoking in the restaurant it was hard to tell because It didn't really smell like smoke at all. But other then this our experience was really great. First time coming here, which is surprising as my grandmother lives in Gaffney. The food is great and the people are friendly!!! I got a chocolate chip waffle which has the chocolate chips inside the waffle which is suuuper good. I also got the hash browns with mushrooms and onions which are killer, as you can add stuff in from a list. We also got a hot fudge Sundae which was amazing. Wasn't too expensive and it was super good. Will definitely be coming by on the way home from Charlotte or passing by!!! read more

The waffles, pork chops, sausage, grits and eggs were excellent. The decor is less than to be desired, but the down home taste of the breakfast and excellent service made up for the everything. It's really sad I have to give this place a one star because the food is really good. But the last time my husband and I went was horrible. We literally got completely ignored by the waiting staff. We sat down and not one of the waitresses even tried to take our order they kept walking passed us and giving dirty looks. And the other customers kept staring at us. It was really odd and strange. OK, I admit it, I love this place. Had seen it for years beside Hwy 85 and only just stopped in on a roadtrip back to Atlanta. It's clean, the service friendly and the food is great. Mr waffle in Gaffney after one hour there charges $5.00 each hour there after if you're in a booth or if you're at a barstool it's a drink refill weather you get one or not plus 20%more for food on 3rd shift plus they reserve the right to add a 20% gratuity and 10%charge to all to go orders.this is posted at every table and barstool and 2 big postings on walls.would you eat here,? Not me I like to relax when I eat not be on a time clock and last time I was there waitress made sure to let me know that included me even though manager/owner told me different but she didn't care what owner said went by 5 times in one week but manager was never there to discuss this.how crazy can a restaurant write these rules sounds like to me they don't want customers. read more
