A couple of years ago I noticed Mr. Window's van in our neighborhood. At that time I had a different window cleaner, but I made note of his phone number. Then this year I saw his van again and gave him a call since our other person had retired. With all of the rain we've had, we had to reschedule, but this morning he offered to come today to clean our windows. We live in a 3 level home. Our family room windows are 2 stories high from the deck. We sure wouldn't try to clean them! Mike and his guys did a fine job. I requested a quote and gave two days that I'd be home to meet. Mike selected the day and time. I agreed to his choice and promptly answered his email letting him know. The morning of the appointment, I found myself sitting and waiting and waiting. I waited for more than an hour, but still no show. Nor did I receive an email or text message letting me know he needed to reschedule. Reliability is key. My experience occurred on Tuesday August 26, 2020 at 8AM I chose Mr. Windows based on a former neighbors recommendation and because they had good reviews. My experience was: SLOPPY, SLOPPY, SLOPPY AND MORE SLOPPY 1) on the phone Mike said oh we'll be glad to do your windows again and I explained you've never cleaned my windows previously, he insisted he would find me in the system ... this should have been my first clue 2) I explained on the phone that I have new flooring and the interior of my home was just painted and he said they would bring drop cloths and they would be careful ... this is the correct response and I liked it 3) at 8AM I saw a Mr. Windows truck fly by my house so I went outside to wave him down, he passed me a total of 3 times before he noticed me waving ... maybe he would have found it if he had the correct house number written down on the invoice ... ugh! 4) when they arrived I asked if they had shoe covers and they said yes ... I didn't expect them to be moving inside and outside all while they left the shoe covers on ... very disappointed 5) as I sporadically walked through my home to see how things were going, they did not bring or use any drop clothes ... one gentlemen I saw was using an area rug (it was filthy) of mine and used it as a drop cloth ... I did not appreciate this being used on my new flooring (hardwood and carpet) ... this upset us 6) in the basement I saw that Mike was using a step tool and I looked at my husband and we determined he was using ours ... he didn't ask to use it and we didn't offer ... he broke one of the rubber feet off of it ... this upset us 7) another occurrence, Mike says he has a question for me and I said sure and when I met him in the hallway, to my dismay he had two filthy window screens inside my house and sat them on the carpet and I immediately said take them outside and he said that me telling him to get out was a problem and that I am unstable ... UNPROFESSIONAL and BEYOND RUDE to which I only glared at him because I wanted my windows cleaned What he wanted to tell me is that some of the springy latch thing that holds the screens in the windows were breaking in some situations ... I didn't need a dirty screen in my house to view to hear that message because my windows are older, I get it. I understand it wasn't their fault ... again no reason to bring the dirty screens into my clean home 8) I discovered their water bucket sitting on my floors, no drop cloth, nothing under it, dirty water drips on every floor ... so I felt compelled to walk around and wiped up drips because it didn't matter to this crew ... 9) we also found the stick pins from the grids in our windows laying on my solid cherry dining table and many on the floor ... we wear only socks at home so some have hurt ... how are my grids staying in the windows if you there are so many laying around ... this upset us 10) another occurrence, Mike says he has a question for me and I said sure and when I met him in the hallway, to my dismay he had two filthy window screens inside my house and sat them on the carpet and I immediately said take them outside and he said that me telling him to "get out was a problem" (not what I said) and that I was unstable ... I used Mr. Windows for the first time this past weekend, and had a great experience. Mike was very responsive from the moment I contacted him, and we met ahead of the job date to review what need to be done at the house. The day of, we found his crew to all be very courteous and professional. We had over 20 windows cleaned inside and out, including the screens and frames. Two of these windows are large (15ft across) and required setting ladders in the landscaping for access. We also had all the gutters and siding hand cleaned, and the outside stairways power-washed. All-in-all the crew was there for a good 2.5 hours and never let up. Note that the house had just been professionally cleaned inside and landscaped outside, yet when Mike and his crew were done, it was as tidy as when they arrived, which I find extraordinary considering how much muck they cleaned away (windows had not been washed in years). Further, following the power-wash of the basement access stairway, one of our drains clogged up and while all the water eventually disappeared, a some sludge was left on the basement landing. Called Mike and he was back in an instant to unclog the drain and clean it up (at no extra charge). He even came back the following day (Sunday) to make sure there were no remaining issues. Overall, I highly recommend Mr. Windows. They're a hard working crew and really did a great job for a fair price. I hired Mr Windows to complete a gutter cleaning for me. The day of the service, I waited 30 minutes past the scheduled time. I called the owner and left a voicemail asking for an update. I received a return phone call advising they had canceled for the day and never called to let me know the day before. I was told I would receive a call later that day after he spoke with his partner because they had many appointments to reschedule. I didnt receive a call that day. I gave them until mid day the next day and did not hear anything. I booked another company who was the same price and came out same day and did a fantastic job. Very unfortunate experience. I will say the owner did own up to the fact that they never notified me about canceling, but it was too little too late. read more

Totally UNRELIBLE!! We were scheduled for service to clean my windows and gutters for June 12 at 12pm. A BIG residential job for them. Mike called me at 12:15 and said they were running late and asked if they could come at 1:30 or so... He sounded totally beat, and had no energy left! He said they are short men and he just finished a big job. I suggested they come another day , when they are not so tired. So.. We rescheduled for June 19 at 1 pm. At 1:15 I called and asked if they were coming , Mike sounded even more beat than the time before and said " uhhhh no I can't come today, we are already late and I'm short people." And hung up. There are so many companies out there to call so DON'T BOTHER CALLING MR WINDOWS, you will plan your week and day around this appt and they will NOT show up !! I have been using Mr Windows for years. I was looking up the phone number for the next job when I saw these reviews and had to respond. Mike knows me when I call and is always professional when they visit. Id. All myself finicky. If something needs special attention I just ask. They wear booties in the house so they don't dirty carpets. They put things back on order and leave the windows and panes crystal clear. Once when I thought something was missed they came and touched it up. There may be less expensive services but I know the service I trust and can usually fit me in when I have a timeline. read more

After I returned Mike's call and let him know that I got 4-5 estimates for gutter cleaning (meaning I simply went online and submitted for estimates with 4 companies), he very quickly cut me off and said "if you're shopping that hard, I don't want your business." Had he given me the chance to finish what I was saying, he would have heard me tell him that I merely did the online estimate requests with 4 companies with the full intention of going with whoever got back to me and could do the service first (and it was him!). One more sentence before cutting me off and he would have heard me happily commit to his services. After 8 moves in 11 years in the military, I've worked with many home service companies. Mike and Mr Windows demonstrated that, by far, they have the worst business model. He lost nearly guaranteed business within 30 seconds of a conversation because he was unprofessional and failed to exercise the patience to even listen to one more sentence. After a week of back and forth on phone calls and emails with Mike about a time to come out and wash the exterior of our gutters, he arrived today 70 minutes later than scheduled. Then told me he couldn't do the job because my townhouse was too tall. Said he was sorry, walked down stairs and left. I was left just standing there kind of speechless. I have email from him that says he came by my house, gave an estimate and left it in my door. I never saw the estimate, so he quoted it to me over the phone. We then scheduled a time. Then he arrives and says he got my house mixed up with someone else and never has been by here. I hired Mr. Windows to clean a 2-story single family home in the Fall of 2016. Everything went smoothly. Fast appt and on-time. They cleaned glass inside and out , sills , and screens. They did a great job and I would hire them again. When getting quotes from any window washer its important to determine whats included or not ( ex: how much more for sills?). I learned that next time they come there could be an upcharge to clean the exterior windows of the second story that are on a hill due to tricky ladder work. read more

I received an estimate on multiple services and when I called to make an appointment was told that my siding would not look clean even though this was never mentioned in the estimate. We decided to make an appt for window washing and they did not show up. When I called I was told there was a mistake and my appt was scrolled ahead for later in the day. When I said that was fine I was told they still couldn't make it. It would have been nice to receive a call that they weren't coming. I was scheduled by Mr. Windows for 8-12 today; I took off of work; around 9 a.m., when no one showed, I called, and Mike, the owner, said I was not on the schedule; with great surprise, I questioned him; he became angry and said that I was yelling at him and he would call me back; after 10 minutes, he did not call me back; I called from my home phone and hung up when I received his phone mail; he immediately called back and was surprised that he was again speaking with me; I told him that I was trying to find out what was going on; he began to yell, berate, and insult me, accusing me of not understanding that mistakes happen and the rain had caused him to have to reschedule people in mass; I began to call him Sir, at which he became outraged, stating that formality when he had done work for me for many years was unnecessary; I continued to try and call him down by calling him sir in a monotone voice, but he was very angry; he said that his crew was leaving Oakton and would arrive within an hour; I said that based on the lateness, if they did not arrive for an hour, I did not know if there would be sufficient time since I had to go to work at noon; he became enraged that I said an hour versus within an hour; he then asked me what the estimated cost was, and I told him that he said he would use previous year's cost, which he then said he did not have and that the crew would have to do another estimate; I tried to tell him my concern that there would be insufficient time,but he continued to berate me and tell me to "look in a mirror...don't I understand that mistakes happen and you better treat my crew nicely when they arrive"; when I tired to call him down by speaking in a monotone voice and calling him sir again, he yelled at me again for being formal and demanded that I stop; I told him that I did not think this was going to work today because he appeared to be having a bad day; he continued to yell at me and tell me that I needed to reflect on my behavior including by calling him sir and being so formal when we had done business together for many years. Clearly, this is a company that is overwhelmed, does not need or want business; and does not respect prior customers it has serviced. read more

These people will never work for me again. We had used them twice previously, with minor incidents each time. However, this time took the prize. They arrived 4 hours late for starters after a mix-up on whether or not we were scheduled for that day. While going in and out of the house to work on the outside windows, Mike and his helper tracked mud in all over the living room carpet. When this was called to Mike's attention (nicely, I might add) he tried to walk off the job and only wanted to deal with the man of the house, who was not home at the time. My husband happened to come home while they were packing up to leave and Mike said he would finish the job ONLY if he dealt directly with "the Mr." They finished the work, got paid and Mike said he would take care of the spots on the carpet. As I was digging out rug shampoo from the kitchen cabinet, Mike went into my laundry room, grabbed a bottle of Shout laundry pretreatment and proceeded to spray that on the soiled spots on the carpet and wipe it up with a rag!!! My husband didn't realize what Mike was using, and I thought at the time that Mike had rug shampoo on the truck which is why he didn't use what I had pulled out. Mike's parting words (to my husband) were that if the spots didn't come out, we were to call our carpet cleaner (who had just done the rugs 2 months before) and have them come out, then send Mike the bill. Well, of course the Shout left residue on the carpet and was attracting dirt, since it is meant to be used only on garments that are machine-washed. We spent $100 (minimum charge) to have the carpet cleaned again and I doubt that we'll ever see any reimbursement. Especially since we can't seem to locate a business address for Mr Windows, and the phone numbers are both cell phones so reverse look-up doesn't work. Oh yes, after they left, we discovered that the two dirtiest screens in the whole house had not been touched, and one of the downstairs windows was only half-cleaned on the upper pane. read more
