Arrived at the restaurant and boy they had a lot of people there. It was great. I never thought we would have service so quickly but we did we arrived. They took our order. We only sat around for about 10 minutes and it was ready to go. The food is outstanding. I'm gonna take pictures and I'm gonna send them to you and I'll explain to what each one is.. and the restaurant is very clean. Smells very clean. Mr Wonton is my local Chinese spot and I feel it necessary to write a review. I remember years ago when I first moved to Georgia 16 years ago Mr Wonton wasnt that good. Then some time ago it was changed over to new owners and was considerably better. We would go there couple times a month. So needless to say when I heard they had gotten new owners and that the food wasnt as good I was a little worried but decided to give them a try. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered chicken egg food young, general tso's chicken, chicken with broccoli, pork fried rice and egg rolls. Everything tasted good enough to order again but ill give a little bit of observations. Chicken egg food young: the old Mr Wonton as well as my preferred way its cooked is the omelettes and gravy is a darker, rich brown color that is very flavorful. This egg food young while decent lacked that deeper flavor, it was a little on the bland side but I doctored it up with soy sauce and hot mustard as I normally do. General Tso's chicken: this is easily the best general's chicken Ive ever had. It was crispy and flavorful. Generals usually have a little pepper on most menus indicating spicy but usually it taste very similar to sesame chicken. This chicken is definitely spicy. Wasnt too spicy for me but someone sensitive to spice might consider it too spicy but it was really good. Chicken with broccoli: it was OK. Flavor was similar to chicken and broccoli you would get from a mall Chinese spot. Broccoli was a little overcooked for me. I like mine a little more firmer with some bite but it was still good. I will say that there was a weird hint of a fish smell with this dish. It didn't taste fishy and when I put my nose to it I couldn't really smell fish but it was a subtle smell of it. My wife noticed it and didn't try any but I ate it. Pork fried rice: Most places, including old Mr Wonton, doesnt have great fried rice but this Mr Wonton has pretty good fried rice. My favorite was Dragon 168 in Powder Springs but now I can get it minutes from my house. Egg roll: I was hoping for an improvement here to the thicker bigger NY style egg rolls but they are still the smaller ones, flavor was a little bit better than before but not great. Service: the new owners are extremely nice, and was offering free kimchi but was out when I got my order. Place looked a little cleaner and brighter. BTW they have a sign on the window of pan fried noodle. Its a favorite dish of mine. Im going to order that next time. I hope its good. read more

Mr. Wonton is the most authentic style Chinese food you can get in the Acworth/Kennesaw area. I lived and worked in Northeast China, and my wife is Chinese. This is the only place nearby that does it so authentic! The restaurant is a bit small, so there are dine in options, but it's usually better to order ahead and then pick it up or order takeout. The couple that own the place are delightful, friendly and provide excellent service. 100/100 recommend! read more

Mr.Wonton needs to put in more effort Displeased with quality of food. Service wasn't the best either, but that wasn't as much of a concern to us. The Carb Ragoons were awfully hard and stale yet mushy. I suspect they weren't made to order. Our entrees were fine , nothing special. With so many other great Chinese take out/eat in options I would not recommend coming here. Take the extra five minutes and drive to Hot Wok or China Moon. Much better food. Tried Mr Wonton next to the Kroger on Mars Hill. I ordered a Chinese staple, so it should be good. The Kung Pao Chicken was terrible. A one star at best. No taste and small portion. Although the spring rolls were very good, don't waste your money on this place, if my dish was any indication of other items on the menu. read more

We love Mr Wonton! Our favorite is the Mongolian Beef, chicken & broccoli, chicken lomein and mong goo gai pan. Their egg drop soup is also great. Can't go wrong with a quick family meal from them. The owners are also very friendly. read more

Have been going to this spot for many, many, MANY years (different owners). Always satisfies the "quick, good, Chinese" food desire. Well, not last night. Looked on-line, said 9:30 p.m. closing and the menu we had also said 9:30 p.m. closing. We called at 8:15, placed the order and they told us to hurry, because they close at 8:30. And the food tasted and looked just like they were in a hurry. Both my wife's beef with broccoli and my daughter's General Tso's chicken were undercooked, to the point they ended up throwing most of it away (nothing like the taste, texture and vision of undercooked chicken). That negative moment will last for quite a while and we will be finding another quick, good, Chinese take-out. May have been our last time there. read more

The only reason you see two stars is because it's cold outside and at least the Egg Drop soup was hot and decent. But I'm not impressed with the rest of the story, the freakin fried rice is yellow??? If I could give this place zero stars I would. What was once a pleasant establishment with great food (which reminded me of the Chinese food in NY), is now disguising and not worth one penny. The last and final time I've eaten here, my fried rice was mushy and tasted like lumpy grits. I took it back and asked if I could get another order because it was so horrible, and the kid at the counter decided to give me white rice instead which was NO BETTER! Still a lumpy mess of mush. Terrible! I ordered a wonton soup. The soup came out with dark, dirty brown broth....yuck! Waste of money. I also ordered crab wonton...they tasted like they came straight out of the freezer...you could taste the freezer burn. Do not waste your time. Very disappointed. I should have known better though. I used to work directly next door about 15 years ago, when it was Blockbuster ... used to order pretty regularly from them then. Have been sporadically ordering since then. I realize we're in a global health crisis right now, I can understand why there's plastic sheeting up separating the staff from the customers. But to not bother to thank your customer doesn't sit right with me. I drove 25 minutes to patronize their restaurant, which of course they couldn't know. But it really shouldn't matter. I paid them and generously tipped. The woman who brought the food was gone before I started to figure out my tip and sign the receipt. I was just wondering if these are different family members from the ones there before... really could use some core customer service skills so they don't continue to tear the business down with their rudeness. Sometimes it really is the difference between a restaurant just getting by, or a thriving and successful one that people enjoy patronizing.
