My little brother really likes this place and recommended we try it while visiting for the holidays. He picked up a few crepes and açaí bowls and brought them to us. He said they were really helpful. He also said that they moved pretty quickly even tho there were only two people working and they make everything to order. They were out of mango when we went but offered to substitute a different fruit on the tropical açaí bowl. My husband chose to sub banana and liked it. He couldn't have the granola because it does have nuts in it. My little brother got the very berry açaí bowl and really enjoyed it. He likes their granola! We got a churro crepe, caprese crepe, Nutella strawberry and banana crepe, and smores crepe. The crepes themselves are a little thicker than what I would prefer, but they do a good job loading up the toppings. The flavors were awesome. I think the churro crepe would be better in house and didn't travel very well. All I have to say is Dubai Chocolate crepe with strawberries! So good! The manager/owner helped me and he was very nice. He made me a perfect Dubai Crepe with extra crunch. If sweet isn't your thing they did have a lot of savory options as well. After 15 min I go back to see if our food is ready. We wait another 10, finally the girl working there says she called our name a while ago and our food has been waiting for us. My husband never heard her call my name. I think what was annoying was the nonchalant tone she said this in, as if she could care less. Also, if you get the veggie crepe what is not mentioned is they add pesto. I avoid nuts because I have some nut allergies. The pesto drizzle wasn't listed on the menu-if you have a pine nut allergy please be aware. Potential lawsuit right there. Wonderful crepes and boba all in one place? Count me in Mr. Z! I was excited to try this spot with a friend upon seeing they had two vegan crepe options. You could either get their Soyrizo or Mediterranean crepes, each for $13. I chose the former and enjoyed the spicy tofu goodness with avocado, greens, and onions. It definitely felt the more filling of the two options but I'd love to come back and try the other. For my drink, I went with a Rose Oolong Milk Tea with boba. The boba here was very soft which is how I like my pearls. I'm happy they had a variety of tea options to choose from as well. Only thing is that there was no ice included in my drink, which means more liquid - but I like to have some ice in order to keep it chilled throughout my enjoyment. Another thing to note is that the menu didn't really make it clear whether 'milk' would cost more or not. Looking at it now, I presume that whole milk (their default?) would be included but that almond and oat (which I got) would cost more. I'm not a huge fan if this is the case since I can't have dairy, but it's something I've learned to deal with being plant based. Wow! Vegan crepes?? That's a dream come true!! I ordered the vegan soyrizo crepe and it was pretty good! I took a few stars off for assembly as it was sort of just thrown together. I had to rearrange it so that I could actually cut into it and have somewhat equal distribution of fixins throughout. Other than that, the food was good, ingredients were fresh, and the people I shared this with seemed to enjoy it. I do think it might have been better if it has some kind of sauce as it was a bit dry on its own. The staff was really friendly and welcoming when we arrived to pick up our order. Quality crepes and boba, great on the go treat for pick up. The crepes have a delightful melting texture. I've only tried savory fillings, the Mediterranean and the Vegetarian, but there was ample filling in each, the veggies tasted fresh and the combinations full of flavor. This is probably the best boba tea I've had. Creme brûlée boba milk tea was hauntingly good. The burnt caramelized sugar imbued the creamy tea with crunchy bits. The drink was sweet but not cloying. My husband surprised me with a bubble tea from Mr Z's today. Three quarters of the way through my drink, I encountered the most enormous clump of human hair imaginable in a beverage. I can't fathom how someone lost this much hair while preparing a drink...it was almost as though someone picked it off of a hairbrush. UPDATE 5/7/21: I had an exchange with staff about this experience -- they were sincerely apologetic and deeply empathetic about how disturbed I felt. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY Worked at a location for 3 days but had to back out due to other job circumstances. The manager was not there on my first day and had no contract or W2's for me to sign and did not get back to me about it until my 3rd day - the day I quit. After I told him I had to leave, I never heard from him again and was never compensated for my 3 days of work. Silver lining is I now know not to trust any employer and not do an hour's worth of work until I have something signed saying I will be compensated. I came in the other day and had awful service, but my husband wanted Crêpes, so we were patient. I have celiac disease and eating anything with wheat is dangerous for me. I called and made sure it was a safe option. In the 40 minutes it took for us to order (no one in front of us, it just took us 4 times to order because the system kept having issues) I confirmed which orders needed to be gluten free. I was so surprised when my son's gluten free option was so good. The box was labeled GF and was confirmed when they gave it to us. I ate some of it with him and then opened my box. My heart sank. My gf crepe looked gluten free. It was clearly a different texture and batter. I double checked, and, yes, both boxes were labeled gf. It was Father's Day and I didn't want to ruin my husband's day, so I just stoped eating and we left when he was done. It took about 10 minutes for me to become severely ill. I have been here over 12 times with the kids it's great they have this fun place in Aptos to get Boba popping teas! They have expanded their hours too. Finally. Do you need to bring patience for ordering and wait times? Yes. It takes up to 30minutes to get a tea even if you order online ahead of time. Is it Covid and to be expected? Yes. it's boba, chill out. Crepes are awesome too!! The reason for the 3 stars is the ingredients, adherence to dietary restrictions and the menu inaccuracies. I see these items as important regardless of Covid. Non dairy smoothie (as listed in menu) = lactose free but there IS milk additive. There is no fruit in the smoothie. That took us a while to diffuse out why the upset tummies. Chai latte - even if you order it with almond milk there is dairy in the original mix. Added sugar in everything. I will spare you the other examples but suffice to say The workers do not know the ingredients, the menu is inaccurate and there is no sensitivity to food allergies during prep so just know this ahead of time. They also use plastic straws and non Green-plastics on occasion. And the flavoring in the smoothies is like what you would get with shaved ice or coffee syrups. Delicious to kids and so not healthy! I love this place! I usually get a savory lunch crepe and a Boba drink. I haven't tried the Acai bowls. Mr. Z's in Aptos my favorite spot to have an outside lunch meeting with my staff. I've been going every two weeks since they opened. I've been going to the Watsonville location since they opened last year. I work in Aptos, so I was SUPER EXCITED to hear the Patel's were opening a new location. I love their food and I love to support local family biz. read more
