I think this place is solid. I initially sampled this restaurant's food at A Taste of Charlotte about a year ago and finally got a chance to visit the restaurant. I wasn't disappointed. I love steamed seafood; however, it can be a bit pricey. On my visit, they were running a special on crab legs, $7 a cluster. I ordered crab legs, 2 eggs, sausage and corn for a total of $21. I generally like my steamed seafood spicy, but I'm not sure if that is an option here. However, the food was so well seasoned that I don't miss the spice. The lady taking orders was very pleasant. Ohhhh, now this place is my go to when I get to Charlotte on Friday evenings! I live in Greensboro but travel to Charlotte every weekend. I always get the 2 crab only platter. It comes with a whole smashed baked potato, corn on the cob, and a 1/4 sausage. It's sauced with Garlic Parmesan. Soooooo good!!! To me anyways! I love the sausage and usually order extras at $1 each. I think that it's pork because they have an option for turkey sausage as an upcharge of $1.50/ each. The crab is so healthy and is made with love! You can tell! I have never had a crab with blemishes or any parts of it's legs and body missing, at this place. I've seen comments about it being messy. It's a great mess and my food has always been on point! I love the way it's sauced because I usually am not able to eat the entire plate in one sitting. The artwork on the outside caught my eye so I knew I was in the right place! There were a lot of options on the menu which is really great! So you don't have to feel like your stuck eating only a few things. The service was great! As far as the food, the portion size of the food was really good! However, the taste I wasn't a huge fan of. Juneteenth 2020, what a great day to patronize black businesses while I'm on "vacay" in Charlotte! I love seafood and love to try seafood all over. I found this on Yelp under Black businesses. They are definitely mixed reviews but I decided to try anyway. It's a small little spot on the corner with the nicest mural on the side wall (wish I'd gotten a photo). Anyway, I appreciate the employee wearing a mask and for being so kind :). I ordered and food was reading within 45 min- 1 hour which I prepared for as the website states. I noticed people complaining about wait time but it states a long wait on the site and it's truly a SMALL business. So plan ahead and don't wait until starving or that's your problem. I did read that food was super messy and it WAS! I did try the garlic Parmesan but I wish I hadn't gotten any parm because it was too much for me. I wish I'd just asked for garlic butter as I've done with Any seafood eaten. So I ordered a cluster that comes with sausage, corn, and potatoes. I also added sautéed mussels. I also ordered French fries that I didn't need. My friend ordered the lobster shrimp and rice Alfredo platter. My crab cluster and all was good but there is something bland about the butter. Idk what it is but I feel like it's unsalted or something because my corn sitting in it wasn't as Im used to. The potatoes were a lot. Like there were a ton of potatoes and they were pretty good. I just had to toss off some of the Parmesan because it was too much. French fries were basic crinkle cut French fries you buy in the frozen section. They def needed some salt haha. But I wound up not needing them because there was so much potatoes in the platter already. The part that made me sad was the sautéed mussels. It could be because I've never eaten them sautéed and didn't know what to expect, I don't know. But they were mushy and HEAVILY & OVER seasoned. Like I've never had the meat of a mussel be mushy and I was thoroughly confused. And the seasoning was soo much I couldn't finish them. I tossed out more than half of them and I do NOT ever waste mussels. Or seafood for that matter. I love seafood. My friend enjoyed his platter until it got to the rice. He said he didn't know what it was but it was not good at all. So food was wasted there. Oh the twisted lemonade was great though. Not too sweet at all. It was just right. Overall, this place has potential. They just have to work on their seasonings. Messy is fine, but the butter needs better quality. Lower the parm ratio so we don't die out here. And for the mussels, definitely pull back on the seasoning and make sure they don't cook to mush if saute is your method. I hope things brighten up for this business. Seafood is bomb. 1st Visit: Ultimate Seafood Potato It appears from the photos they used to give 2 lobster tails instead of 1, but then again maybe those individuals asked for 2 tails, who knows. This was my first real meal after having surgery & it definitely hit the spot. However, the downsides were that the location has VERY limited parking. Customers will park all different directions blocking other vehicles in a small square sized space. They should really consider moving to a bigger location with a dedicated parking area. Secondly, the wait was just ridiculous! I have never waited so long to get food in such a small space crowded with people. You wouldn't want to sit in your car because then you wouldn't hear your name called. They should create some text notification system so that people don't have to stand & wait 30+ mins. You would think the online ordering option would be a plus but I still saw people having to wait plus they charge more for certain menu items vs ordering in person. 2nd Visit: my second visit came once I officially moved to Charlotte & decided to give them a try again. I came on a Saturday around 2pm hoping the wait would be way shorter than the last. Luckily there wasn't a line & I was in & out in about 15 minutes. I again ordered the Ultimate Seafood Potato because it was just that good the 1st time. Will I return? It's possible but I will have to try something else on the menu. The pricing is decent compared to other places in Charlotte. So my advice -- try to plan on visiting earlier in the day when people aren't moving around probably more so right when they open to prevent a long wait. read more

1st timer: After seeing the advertisement on FaceBook I tagged my husband so he could check it out and told him that I think his FAV seafood place may have competition. He felt the same way from the photos we saw on FB and on Yelp once we pulled it up on Yelp. So we ventured off onto this 45 minute drive to experience Mr3s on Fathers Day weekend per my husband request. The location is interesting to say the least and I'll leave it there. The restaurant is HOT, small and did I say HOT? They don't have restrooms but the sweet cashier Jada informed me that there was a Wendy's nearby so after ordering my husband ran me there to use the restroom as we drove almost a hour to try this place and I'm not sure I could wait another hour plus the time for the food to be completed to relieve myself (TMI). We ordered the seafood baked potato, Lobster Tacos & Whiting sandwich also the Mango Peach lemonade. The BEST item of the three was the AMAZING Mango Peach Lemonade . I wish we brought 4 of those only. The next best thing was the wonderfully seasoned filet Lobster tail that was atop the seafood baked potato. The other two items were MEH: The Lobster Tacos had WAY too much filler (cheese, slaw, lettuce) you couldn't taste he Lobster and the shell was cold and tasteless. The whiting sandwich was OK I wouldn't rush back to get it as I've had much much better. I like the fact that they show you each of your items when your name is called. This assisted us in discovering that they forgot to put our whiting sandwich in the bag. We ended up waiting longer for that to be made. Sigh! I used to love this place. Trying to do right and support black businesses, won't support here anymore. This small, local, hood takeout only seafood restaurant stays busy. Especially Saturdays. They parking lot is a hot mess, watch your car. On my last two visits, I've sat for close to an hour waiting, and left WITHOUT FOOD! Today was my final straw. I arrived and it was busy. I ordered the Whiting, shrimp and fry combo, a drink and extra sauce. $21. The quoted wait time was 25-30 minutes. There was a couple who was waiting when I arrived, and I later heard them say they'd been waiting an hour. When they checked on their order, it hadn't been made! At the 45 minute mark I asked the status of my order, only to find out it had been there, sitting in a warming box for 20 minutes. It was soft and soggy. They said it was mistakenly put near the post mates orders, but they NEVER called my name. They literally called everyone who came in after me. I left, refund in hand, so angry I could cry. So I haven't physically been to Mr3s but I tried them at Taste of Charlotte! When I tell you all, I went back twice and will pro ably go back to their booth the rest of the weekend. I don't know what holy seasoning they put in their sauce, but it is a blessing!!! Thankfully they have three locations that I plan to frequent, but my goodness this is great seafood. I first tried the shrimp, which was prepared perfectly (I was even able to eat the shell, which I don't normally do, but the seasoning was so good, and I was standing-my dad used to eat the shell and I thought he was crazy, but you know what, I get it now lol) I was so haunted by what I didn't try, I went back, got the snow crab and the corn. The only way to order was either online or in store and since I didn't see what I wanted online I vouched to go inside after calling and being advised that. The restaurant sits on the corner street not too far from Brookshire. I ordered the Triple Threat (fried lobster tail, shrimp, fish and fries) and couldn't help but get one of their delicious looking lemonades. When I got home, it was ON! The lobster tail was the first up to bat and I must say it was soooo delicious I was upset i didn't get more. The shrimp was decent, seasoned well as was the fries. The fish however had WAY more bones than I liked but tasted really good. Now this lemonade definitely deserves to be spiked with liquor which I added a splash and my night was complete. So I'm definitely on a mission to find the best crab spot in the city. And after trying Mr3s for the second time I can't lie it is near the top of my list. On this visit I ordered two platters. Both are super seafood platters, but one has their staple garlic butter seasoning and the other has lemon pepper seasoning. This was my first time having lemon pepper seasoning and it did not disappoint!!! If you choose to get this platter they'll give you an option to get the lobster tail steamed or fried. Trust me you'll want to get it fried!! Trust me!! They fry it like a pork chop lol . It's so seasoned and was cooked perfectly. The fried lobster tail is banging! On this visit I also ordered a garlic egg! I was hesitant to try it but after hearing the lady in front of me order four of them I decided I had to have one too. And it was so good!! Now let's get into these platters. The super seafood platters come with two clusters of crab legs, shrimp, one piece of sausage, potatoes, and a lobster tail (get it fried). Every bit of the platter is seasoned in their homemade butter sauce and your choice of seasoning. If you're a crab leg connoisseur like me you'll want to order an extra butter on the side. I wish the platter came with another piece of sausage but overall it is BANGING!!! The only thing I didn't like is that there is barely any parking, and the restaurant gets packed so I would recommend going early. This place is heaven if you are a seafood lover! I recently visited on a Wednesday around 3pm and my wait was only around 10 mins. I purchased the only crab clusters meal with 2 clusters, garlic Parmesan flavor. It comes with potatoes, corn, sausage, and I added on a garlic egg. You def get your moneys worth of food. For my 1st time there, I must say the food was amazing & I'm allergic to fish! I could see this place being a usual monthly treat for me! Everyone was friendly & the prices were reasonable for what you get. My son's father recommended me NOT to go here...so of course I had to go & try it out for myself! His exact words were, "You're going to buttery garlic hell!" In other words, saying that all the food was drowned in too much sauce. However I like that it was! We got the Not so Ultimate Crab pan ONLY 1 CRAB cluster in entire pan, Bay scallops (most places let you know whether they are Bay or Sea scallops as Bay scallops are less quality), crawfish, dry mussels, undercooked hard corn, a sack of mushy potatoes(the most abundant item in the pan), 1 lobster tail, & 1 overcooked crab cluster all in a watered down buttery BLAND substance. More like an ultimate seafood potato pan. Substituted sausage for Turkey sausage upcharged $6 and 3 of 4 Sausages were about 2 inches long. Definitely not worth $61.00. As far as food goes, Mr3s deserves a 5-star rating hands down! Just know what you're getting yourself into. The location has pretty poor parking. I mean it's not like your parking in a ditch, it just a little lot, with no lines or anything...you just have to use common sense, which ain't always common. Moving on, it's a carryout restaurant. They make this clear from the start. So the need for plush seating, restroom, and other amenities, are kinda expected to be non-existent. Nonetheless, this is what the -1 star is in regards too, poor parking, standing room only in waiting area. The food. Oh. Em. Gee. Off the hook. It's worth the wait, everything is made cook to order, which is awesome. The best adjective I can find to describe the food is "succulent". It is so good it should be a crime. Take out 100%. Only seating is chairs to wait for orders. Ordered Mr3 Super Seafood Platter. The food overall is really good but there's room for improvement. The prep of the fried lobster tail was problematic in that the breading turned mushy by time we drove home and because I cook mine with very thin seasoned flour, I didn't care for it. I also really clean all seafood and meats well when cooking so seeing the sand vein in the lobster tail killed my appetite. The sausage that accompanied our meal was tasteless in flavor so into the garbage it went. The other components of this meal was good. Most recently we learned there is a dine in location in Rock Hill so next experience will be there. The change will definitely have the lobster grilled and the sausage will still go in the garbage or simply decline it. We did get fries and seafood rice (small portion for $4) and total was more than $90. read more

I have always wanted to try this place and just happen to on Friday. My coworkers and I order food from them and I got the crawfish boil with flavor supposedly be cajun and my other coworkers got shrimp alfredo, and the shrimp &crab alfredo. And they also order the crab fries. They don't take orders over the phone but they do have online order. They do check your ID for any card purchases and I understand why. So we place our order and it took about 20 mins to get ready. Now my first impression about this place was the food is gonna be great. when I sat and ate my food I was very disappointed, I was expecting cajun flavor but got garlicky butter with a hint of cajun. It's like they read the order work and just sprinkle the cajun seasoning on it. My coworkers also didn't like their food because it was just noodles with very little meat. This place was located only 5 miles from my hotel. It is located in a neighborhood and is honestly not the most appealing establishment. It's very small and gets extremely warm on the inside, so be prepared. They have a sign inside, making it clear that all orders are made to order, so if you are looking for FAST FOOD, you may want to leave. I can appreciate this sign because it prepares you to wait anywhere from 15-30min, but at least your food is hot, and fresh! I went on a very hot day so it was really warm on the inside and it was very busy!! People constantly coming in and out. I ordered the Lobster Plate ($25) that includes your choice of grilled or fried lobster, jumbo shrimp, potato, sausage, and corn. I have never had fried lobster so I opted for fried lobster and love garlic, so I asked that my Plate be garlic Parmesan flavored. Waited for less than 20min and it was worth it! My food was definitely FRESH and I had to wait a few minutes to eat it. I really likes the sauce flavoring. I do feel like the batter they use to fry, is too salty. I would opt to get a grilled lobster tail next time as a result. But the lobster was delicious once I got past the breading and was meaty. The shrimp were perfect, although I wish I got a few more for the price. they serve the (Peel and eat) style shrimp. The sides were good. I had a Cajun watery sauce.paid extra for the boiled egg it was over cooked maybe reheated from the day before! The shrimp were rubbery still had the shit trap, she'll and the little legs! The location is not a great location because it's not a lot of places to park. It could be considered a hole in the wall, but sometimes that's where the best food comes from. It's a very popular so it could be a bit of a wait. You can't call your order ahead. They may need to think abt in the future online ordering and your able to pay online. One other thing that cld be frustrating is they seem to run out of things. There were a few customers that wanted these rainbow drinks that seemed popular and they'd run out of those. I wanted to try the seafood Mac which they had ran out of. I ended up getting the seafood platter and steak dinner. The food was delicious and made up for everything else. The location maybe scary but the food here is excellent!!! The fish is very fresh!!! The lobster tail is a good size (not small) and is also fresh. Also, read the menu thoroughly. You are able to add an array of spices to any platter! read more

This was me and my boyfriends first time eating at this place when I say disgusting is an understatement that's what I mean I literally just left here we got our food from the looks it looked so good then we noticed wow all this sauce but the shell of the shrimp and legs is still on the shrimp(you can't enjoy the sauce if you wanted to because it's on the shell of the shrimp)the corn had to be microwaved and old the egg definitely was microwaved and nasty as hell the shrimp taste like rubber omg nothing was fresh and seriously nasty!!!)I've been to a lot of seafood spots this is the absolute worst I literally feel nauseous I promise y'all I do not BS about my food especially my seafood this was horrible!!!! I originally went because of the reviews were saying it was so good but baby! That's false I would never go there again or refer anyone to this place.
