As a seafood lover I couldn't have a crab house open in my neck of the woods and not check it out! Been waiting on this to open before all the corona madness so I was happy to see the flags on one of my trips to Sams club. I ordered from the parking lot and was able to get my food in less that 15 minutes! They did mess up my order as I do not do head on shrimp however I was home by that point and I wasn't going back. My son as usual tried the wings. They messed that one up as well as he wanted them battered and they were naked. They put the buffalo sauce on the side which perplexed him as a 10 year old. He was dipping them in the sauce and complained of it tasting funny. I believe it's not true butter used in those so the taste was a bit off. He did however enjoy the onion rings. Back to my combo of snow crab and shrimp. I always opt for the house special sauce in a hot temp. I will opt for extra hot next time because it wasn't spicy to me. The corn was good and they use the red potato just as other crab houses you only get one of each. I would say they aren't going to bump out my top three which are Crab Dujour, King Crab or Shake Shake name depends on location and Steam it Up (no one does fried crab legs BUT them). They are on the more expensive side but it could be because of the rise in costs of groceries lately. Curse you corona!!! Really enjoyed our first visit here. The service was very fast and friendly. The whole place is super clean and inviting and the food was great! We got the P10 seafood platter (1/2 lb each king, snow, and Dungeness crab, 1/2lb shrimp, plus corn, potatoes, broccoli, and a hard boiled egg) and it was more than enough to feed two, we brought home lots of leftovers. Ok, so I've given them a 3rd try, as the first try was outstanding. After that downhill. Today I called in my order and specially asked for a "SHRIMP BOIL". Instead, I get a handful of shrimp that have been steamed. The woman at the front tells me "oh that's a combo!" I'm looking at her and the menu where it reads "boil". She offered to make the item I originally requested but I declined as I was short on time. I did not know the official name but definitely knew the name, so since you want to play that game, I'll ignore you as well and take coins elsewhere. Additionally? They are offering a buy one get one. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and literally received a tray FULL of rice with 3 shrimp (see photo). The wings I ordered are the sweet chili. Pricing is ok. If anything, Yaki Asia prices are better for the portions. We've ordered 2 lbs of crawfish and a pound of clams. Everything is ok. Seasoning isn't much and needs more flavors. I've noticed that a couple of items are $1-$3 more than other seafood boiled places. 1 small corn and only 2 potatoes in each bags. Other places usually gives us 2-3 corns and at least 6-8 potatoes (usually in halves) but these are a whole small round potatoes. Clam was the only thing my family enjoyed. The food arrived in a plastic bag tied in a knot. the server said it was her first day. she did a great job, attentive to the tables and allowed time for review of the menu. in the bottom of the bag was a very biny broth with seasonings and lots of undissolved salt. The food is incredibly salty. Although cooked together I could taste the crab and the shrimp. The shrimp were good after parking them aside and allowing the salty liquid to drip away. The red potatoes cooked in the brine were dreamy...loved them! the broccoli was OK but too salty. Couldn't eat the corn for too much salt. Since we had never been to the Tasty Crab, we asked someone leaving the restaurant about their experience and they highly recommended. Our server was Kelly and she was amazing and on point! We ordered a few appetizers and one of their specials. Everything was delicious. My husband and I went in a whim. He was excited about the "All you can eat," I was excited about the sides because I do not eat seafood. We thought he could order the "All you can eat" while I nibble on my sides but they don't allow people at the same table to order from different menus. 1 menu "All you can Eat" and another is "Al la Carte." It took us a minute to comprehend why we would be forced to choose one or the other. From a customer perspective it's unfair... Alas we were patronizing a business and the waitress made it clear that her "boss" would not allow it, people share the "All you can eat" and they want to make money and not lose it. We ended up staying - we were the only ones there for a while - by the time we were paying the check, another family came in. My sides did come in a boil bag. Other Seafood boils give you corn on the cob split in half - here they give you a quarter. The best broccoli was good, the seasoning was ok. My husband got one of the specials - a cluster of snow/dungeons and it came with 1/2 king crab (which was 1 leg) 1/2 shrimp, corn and potatoes. It was pretty expensive. We paid around $100 vs the $130 min. we would have paid for all you can eat. My husband was hungry soon after. So definitely not filling. The dining area appeared clean. The writing on the walls I found to be interesting. The waitress was nice enough. I conclude that it's only worth it if you want the "All You Can Eat" experience. The experience was horrible. We were only one of two tables in the whole place. The ambience is lacking and took a while to get our food and it was tasteless. We pretty much left it all behind. How can King Crab be tasteless? But it was, and I thought it was going to be Cajun seasoned but the seasoning was just in the bottom. The tartar sauce is packaged and no good.
