Stopped for the first time at MRAM. Was greeted by the counter clerk, Jason Patterson. A friendly, knowledgeable person, invited us to browse. Began walking around the store. Tight layout, a labyrinth of sorts. Hearkened to hardware stores of yesteryear. And note-ably includes electrical appliance parts. My mind was then blown away. New electronic components packaged for sale and neatly ordered. Nothing missed, resistors to processors. Linear to digital, signal level to power including optoelectronics. Product line and packages unique to MRAM. WOW! Like the back aisles of Radio Shack on steroids. Continued to another room, computer parts, of wide vintage; genre. Tastefully sprinkled about were antique electronic treasures like old table radios etc. And yet another room- I am now in shock. "Let's check outside" motions my wife. Out-back we have an electronic junkyard of sorts . . . and sorts, and sorts! Under tents, we found everything from bathroom scales to missile radio test sets, X-ray machine control console. Absolutely unbelievable, By now I am hovering above my body, there is a heavenly chorus in the air, as the scent of roses touches my nose. Okay back to earth now, IF YOU ARE INTO ELECTRONICS YOU MUST GO HERE. Oh yea, and if your wife complains about the oven not heating go here also. These people are doing for our world what has been needed for years, they are acting responsibly with the technology that has intertwined itself into our lives. The same technology that cripples, our recycling efforts. The same technology that threatens our groundwater has now been diverted into the lives, minds, and hands of aficionados like myself. I was visiting Melbourne this week for work and had a bit of time to kill before my flight back home. I was very pleased to discover that there was a surplus electronics place nearby and headed in to see what it was all about. This is a classic surplus electronics shop, and a very very nice one at that. A large number of components are we'll organized and very reasonably priced. There are also piles of junk as you would expect. There's also a large amount of stuff outside worth checking out. If you are looking for consumer electronics go elsewhere. If you are hobbyist looking for good deals on components and tools go no further. read more

Disappointing experience today. I've spent a fair amount of money here over the last year or so but today the lady that was working told me I could not look around. I mentioned being curious to see what appliance parts they had, but without passing a quiz at the door, they weren't interested in letting me in. Okay, this is one cool place. So hard to describe. It is a techno geeks heaven, but has it so much obscure inventory that it will interest anyone. I found this place looking for an odd cable and dsicovered a treasure trove of all things technical. Any computer part ever made is probably available here. An obsolite phone charger? aisles of them. A microwave cannon? yep Geiger counter? saw them Any cable or cord you can think of, they are the source. You just have to see this place. The prices are so resonable and the owner will go to great lenghths to help with anything. As they moved to a much small location, a lot of the parts are still in the trailers. If you need a specific part, allow lots of search time. Roger will bargain with you and you can usually put together a package deal of items at a good price. The minimum purchase is $5, so if I just need one little resistor, he might say "take it", otherwise, I'll add some heat shrink tubing, wire or other expendable items I use on a regular basis. If you're very patient and observent, you might find some rare parts that can be resold on Ebay for big$. I am an 67 yr old person who has a hard time getting around. I visited this location a few times before and had no issues. I had the worst experience here that I think I ever had anywhere. I was assisted by an employee to find the item the first day. I brought the exact part with me so there would be no question if it would be right or not. When I got home a family member said it wouldn't work it was the wrong part. So I went back the next day and asked the Blond girl that sits up front for help she walked me in the back no other customer around and pointed go look there I cant help you I have a store to run and I dont have time. I explained that I cant see well enough to look and if no one here can help me I would like my money back and I will go somewhere else. She said no ALL SALES FINAL your not getting your money back. I tried to explain she said no to bad. A family member called to reason with her. she said no hes not getting his money back to bad, there are signs up front saying NO REFUNDS. my family member explained to her your employee sold him the wrong part, you refused to help him, you wouldn't even give him back the part he purchased and you refuse to give him his money back.
