I physically watched them fax the order to them, oh well. So today, we drove over there in person to schedule an appt. and they told her, "oh, we don't perform that MRI here and then never offered to help her schedule elsewhere". That piece of information would have been helpful before we drove all the way over there from Chantilly. The person at the front desk said that she was "too busy" even though my mother was the only one at the front desk at the time (approx. 1:30pm on Tuesday February 3, 2026). My friendly and mild-mannered mother told the woman at reception that "in her (88) years she had never received such poor service" and walked out the front door. I didn't just feel bad for my mother but I felt bad for all the elderly people that must go thru something similar. It's not easy to get out at that age and drive across town thru the cold and snow, just to find out that (MRI of Reston) CAN'T and ultimately WON'T help you. They say that there's "no second chance to make a first impression". That was never more evident than what we experienced today. For those who seek a better choice, (Rayus Radiology of Fairfax). I did not do my pre paperwork but they had new iPads for me to use to fill out my questionnaire. I came early for my appointment by 30 minutes and they were able to work me right in. After filling out my paperwork I think I waited only 5 minutes. After being called back I was so happy to see this lab had Siemens Healthineers machine for my CT scan!!! Quality equipment! My technician talked me through what angle to hold my body at and then she left the room and the machine ran its scans. Quick and easy under minutes! If I have to get more imaging done I'm definitely scheduling here!

    Aggressive billing and intimidation before insurance review!!!…read more I scheduled a standard, non-contrast shoulder MRI at Fairfax Radiology in Herndon expecting a routine outpatient imaging-center experience. What followed was deeply concerning. After the MRI was completed, I was told I needed to immediately pay a few hundred dollars based on a bill in the several-thousand-dollar range, before the claim had been processed by my insurer. My deductible has been met, and I am responsible only for a percentage of the contracted rate. When I asked whether the charge had been run through insurance or requested clarification, the interaction escalated. A senior staff member became confrontational, insisted I "should have paid before the MRI," repeatedly demanded my credit card, and attempted to pressure me into paying an unverified amount on the spot. When I declined and asked that the claim simply be submitted to insurance -- which is standard practice -- the response was intimidating rather than professional. For context, in Fairfax County the typical rate for a freestanding, non-contrast shoulder MRI is far lower than the amount quoted. Presenting inflated gross charges and pressuring patients to pay estimates before insurance adjudication is unacceptable. What concerns me most is that this does not appear to be an isolated incident. Other patients have reported overcharging, lack of upfront disclosure about billing classification, pressure to pay estimates in advance, and prolonged delays in refunds after insurers determined little or nothing was owed. I am perfectly willing to pay what I legitimately owe after insurance review. What I object to is opaque pricing, aggressive collection tactics at the front desk, and intimidation when patients ask reasonable questions. Patients deserve transparency and basic professionalism. Unfortunately, this location demonstrates a pattern that falls well short of that standard.

While, mammograms are a very nerve -wrecking and uncomfortable experience, I know I'm in good hands when I come here. I never wait more than 15 minutes to be seen and the waiting room is very comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming. The two ladies at the front are always very professional. Before your mammogram. They have someone who comes out to welcome you and take you to the back with instructions on how to disrobe. I was welcomed by a friendly African American woman ! Then, in the waiting room, there are goodies including mints and lip gloss . I always take several of them for keepsakes lol Goldie was my tech and she made me very comfortable. Today, I think she knew how scared and panicked I was. But, we got them photos done. Melissa did my ultrasound again this visit and she is very nice and listened to my concerns. I'll be back in 6 months for another mammogram and I'm confident my experience will be great.

There are no human staff to assist clients. The waiting room has an automated check-in kiosk and TV with a Quest video on constant repeat. Cleanliness is not what one would expect for a medical testing business. My first human experience was a dreadful encounter with the caustic and impatient Tiffany G. This employee wins the honor of being the most unhelpful and dismissive person, in a customer-facing position, I've ever encountered globally. That says a lot given that I've spent a lifetime traveling the world. Tiffany has no interest in assisting a first time visitor. Instead of being welcoming and helpful, one feels the immediate verbal abuse and shaming. "You people need to come here prepared." followed by "You needed to be prepared." At the end of the procedure, instead of answering a simple question regarding the verification of both vial ID numbers a question is hurled back "Didn't you hear me to check the number on the vial?" Be warned: if you arrive without already knowing exactly where to find your Q number, you may be sidelined and made to feel like a burden rather than a patient. Questions are met with irritation, not answers, and the entire process is handled in a way that is unnecessarily stressful and demeaning. It's remarkable--and unacceptable--that the routine procedure of peeing into a cup, for a pre-employment drug test, could be turned into such an unpleasant ordeal. Don't expect customer service at the Herndon Quest location. After this experience, if I am ever required to patronize Quest Diagnostics I will travel to another location.

Whatever, I knew the risks of choosing to walk in, but they should really just not allow walk in's. After scheduling an appointment and returning later, I still waited in the lobby for an entire hour past my scheduled appointment time. People have jobs, lives, things to do. It is incredibly unprofessional to keep accepting appointments when they are incapable of accommodating them. I would avoid this location if at all possible.
