I've been to this donut place plenty of times, and it's easily one of the best I've tried in Houston. My favorites are the donut holes and the sausage egg and cheese croissant. They offer classic donuts as well as fun options topped with things like bacon and M&M's. The breakfast sandwiches are excellent. We were looking for a place for donuts and ice coffee. We found this place online and it was on our way. The shop was small but cozy. When we walked in, they greeted us warmly. Unfortunately, the place didn't have ice coffee except for bottled Starbucks. So we got one of those and a couple of donuts. I wasn't going to get one but I saw bacon maple donut and I had to get one. It was ok. The texture was not what I expected. The bacon added some saltiness that balanced the super sweet maple glaze. Been in this area almost 15 years and made my first visit here this past weekend. At 9am on a Saturday, there was a line building. When I left, they were lined up outside the door. Service here was awesome, and as more stuff was bought....they kept reloading with reinforcements. I got the glazed donuts, a maple bacon, and a boudin kolache. The donuts seemed smaller compared to others I've had. The boudin kolache won't have the length and girth as other places may serve. But what lacks in size, makes up in flavor. The boudin was spicy and delicious. The pastry itself, you can tell they don't mess around when it comes to their products. It was all good. The glazed donuts weren't bad. The maple bacon was awesome. The glaze itself along with the cake donut. It was like eating a good piece, and we all love to eat some cake! I live close by, but I was never able to visit. I finally got a chance to visit and at 9 AM they were out of glazed donuts:( I ordered a jumbo twist, and it was delicious. Wish I would have been able to get a warm, glazed doughnut. The star of the show, however, was the Boudin kolache. I'm a Louisiana girl and Boudin is near and dear to my heart. The Boudin was very flavorful and really done well. The service was very easy as there was a line inside the store. The lobby area is not very large. There are a couple tables in case you want to sit inside. With the line inside, I don't suggest staying because it can be a bit crowded. A variety of drinks are available. read more

But, their doughnuts are consistently outstanding, from their wide variety of donuts and Kolache choices that aren't just your typical chocolate iced (although they do have that as a selection, if you want). Mrs doughnuts has obviously been working on perfecting their dough since 1984 as their website says. I ordered a variety dozen and had delivered to my house very quickly, and packaged well. I easily ate almost 2/3 of this dozen through out the day with no intention of eating more than 2-3. Check. them. out. My go to orders are: -Spicy Jumbo Kolache (really not that spicy, just some jalapeño flavor) -Bacon Breakfast Taco & Sausage Breakfast Taco (I like to order both and then take the potato out and make a jumbo taco) -Sausage Croissant / Bacon Croissant (these are both amazing and you get tons of egg, cheese and meat) ohhh and the bacon is amazing, it's candied but not overly sweet -Biscuit sandwiches are great but I feel like the croissants are of better value. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars instead of 4 is because they didn't hardly have any of the signature donuts on their website. I've passed by this little donut shop a couple times but hadn't gotten the opportunity to try until today. To be honest, had it not been the line of cars trailing in from the nearby church, I may not have ever even given this place a chance. The actual shop itself was actually surprisingly small! They had little markings on the ground to enforce social distancing and even had some extra masks up front for people who didn't have one on hand. I knew when I walked in to the sweet older asian couple behind the counter & (presumably) their kid sitting nearby at a table that this was gonna be GOOOD stuff. (As if the Sunday crowd lined up outside wasn't assuring enough!) I stuck with simplicity and got a jumbo sausage & cheese kolache with a regular coffee. I did also get a free donut with the yelp check in but that is still reserved in my fridge for tomorrow's breakfast. The jumbo kolache came out nice and hot and ooey gooey on the inside. I could tell they used quality fillings cause that kolache was suuuper juicy. I thought coffee was just okay- very basic, very light. When I went in ~10AM on Sunday morning it did look like they had already sold a good amount of their inventory so there wasn't that much variety available in terms of donuts. Next time I'll have to aim to go earlier to try one of those out as well! read more
