I always come for their bacon tacos (caramelized bacon, egg, cheese, potatoes) and bacon croissants. I am soooo sad when they're sold out by 9:30 am, but luckily I was able to get some this morning at 7:30! Also, they have the biggest drink selection I've ever seen in a donut shop. Great selection. It has more variety than your basic donut shops. My favorite is the blueberries crunch. It has the best texture, you get the crunch sugary goodness with the pillowy soft blueberry. Next up we tried the chocolate oreo, it was ok. Can't really go wrong with crunchy oreos. Maple bacon cake donut is good for those who like bacon saltiness. I should've known i wouldn't like it, but still good. I loved the cake part though. Jumbo kolache was ok too, the sausage wasn't comparable to other places. It was rlly hot and fresh. This was my first time having donuts and kolaches in Houston (I'm from Dallas), and I must say, this place for sure stands out amongst the rest! I can't speak for the million other donut and kolache shops around Houston (and believe me they're everywhere), but compared to what we have here in Dallas, Mrs. Donuts have an A+++ selection! I didn't really know what to order, and I didn't want to have just the regular old glazed donut, so Mrs. Donuts herself recommended me the maple glazed bacon donut lol. To my surprise, it was AWESOME!!! I didn't know what to expect with having bacon on my donut, but it worked out wonderfully. Not only did I have that, but the regular glazed (yes she talked me into getting one of those as well lol) and donut holes were great as well. One thing that really stood out for me was the actual dough. I'm not a huge donut eater, but I can tell when someone's recipe is on point. If anything, the dough (once baked of course) is what really makes a donut, a donut. The owners here were on point with it, no doubt. Oh I forgot to mention, I also had a bunch of their kolaches lol... I had the cheesy jalapeño sausage one (the big sausage kolache), and I must say, it's great. For one, you get a huge sausage (good for meat eaters) and the cheese happened to be melted perfectly inside so you get a great taste in every bite. As far as the jalapeño, I don't know if it was in the sausage itself, or added separately inside the kolache, but I can an say that I got a good bit of it in every bite as well. Most places that sell jalapeño kolaches skimp out on actually putting jalapeños in it! Not this place though!!! Overall, I really enjoyed everything I had. Unfortunately, it was already late in the morning (almost around noon) and I missed out on a lot of other selections. Just like most places, you'll have to get there early enough to have the FULL selection of the various things they have for sale there. One thing that I really wanted to try is the kolache ball? I'm not sure if that's what it's called, but I have seen the pics on other yelp reviews and it looks interesting. Great neighborhood spot for donuts and kolaches. I discovered this spot while walking in the neighborhood. I saw the line and was curious. Had to figure out why! This is one of the classic, "back in the day" donut shops. They offer your standard donut options with a few bonuses. They also have a good looking selection of kolaches and breakfast sandwiches. I opted for a glazed donut and an Apple Fritter. The glazed donut has great flavor and I was pleased with it, but the apple fritter?! C'mon, Apple Fritter! It was bomb. It was absolutely, positively one of the best apple fritters I have had in my life. Perfect amount of sweetness, crunch, and just yummy goodness. Tried Mrs. Donuts for the first time today - placed an order to take into the office. The donuts were some of the best that I've had. The glazed were wonderful ... as if the best attributes of Shipley's and Krispy Creme combined. The kolaches were amazing as well. I would highly recommend the bacon, egg and cheese. They are huge and filled with a large amount of real bacon cooked to perfection. The bacon had a hint sweetness as if it had been lightly coated with maple syrup and baked. The filling to bread ratio is perfect (not too much bread). Song, the owner waited on me and was very patient as I tried to decide which goodies that I wanted to take to the office. Found Mrs. Donuts with the help of Yelp yesterday and boy was I glad that I did. The counter staff was extremely helpful. I got a variety of products and all were wonderful. The selection of donuts at 5:00 am is a little on the light side but the kolaches and burritos made up for it. I was ensured that all products would be available around 7-8. Tried Mrs. Donuts for the first time after hearing great things for years. On a Saturday morning, the construction was not to bad and 100% worth maneuvering. My son loves iced donuts with sprinkles and kolaches. It's hard to find a place that has both and that are both made well and are delicious. Both were fresh and delicious at 8AM. I have visited this donut shop twice and both times the staff and owner were super friendly. Despite visiting late morning, around 9 am, they have a good selection of donuts, kolaches and sandwiches. I was looking for a bakery that sold croissants in my area for a business meeting, and Mrs. Donuts showed up with great reviews. The meeting included some colleagues from Belgium and Germany who must have croissants every morning, so I knew I needed to find something good. The owner and staff are very friendly. I had called the day before to order the croissants and they were ready for me when I arrived. I might also have maybe gotten a jalapeno, sausage, and cheese jumbo kolache for myself. The croissants were large, and not too sweet the way some are here in the US. They were buttery, flaky, and so soft on the inside. Even my European colleagues were commenting on how great they were. This is the second time we have walked in the door and received rude service. At 12:36 today, we walked in and were told to leave because they were closing. (Closing time is posted as 1:00).
