We went out to celebrate my friend's mom's birthday assuming that it would be a very fun night based on the reviews. We were pleased that they were able to accommodate our party of 8 as it was a busy Saturday night and the food/ drinks were absolutely amazing!!
Our fun night took a quick turn when two of my girlfriends had gone to the bathroom together in the same stall (every one knows girl code and that girls always go to the bathroom together). As they were in the bathroom stall, the security guard banged on the bathroom stall they were in asking them to come out because he knew what was going on in there. The security guard had proceeded to come to our table and accused our friends of doing cocaine in the bathroom in a very unprofessional manner.
FIRST OF ALL.. WHAT WAS A MALE SECURITY GUARD DOING IN THE LADIES BATHROOM?!
SECOND OF ALL.. Me nor my friends do that kind of stuff, the reason they took longer than usual in the washroom was due to the fact that they were both wearing body suits and belts (EVERY GIRL CAN TELL YOU WHAT A HASSLE IT IS TO DRESS YOURSELF AFTER HAVING A FEW DRINKS)
THIRD OF ALL.. WE WERE WITH OUR FRIENDS MOM!!!!
As the situation escalated, the bar manager (her name was Catherine) came over and apologized for the security guards behaviour and offered us a bottle of bubbly for the inconvenience. We were very impressed with the way she had handled the situation as it was very humiliating, uncomfortable, and inappropriate. We got over the hiccup and continued to enjoy ourselves.
As we were leaving, my other two girlfriends had to go to the bathroom and again.. they went into the same stall. I was walking to go to the bathroom before leaving the bar and I got stopped by the manager, Catherine. She told me that she "knows exactly what's going on" and that she shouldn't have trusted us nor put herself in a bad situation as my other friends went into the bathroom stall together and their eyes looked "dilated". Vert unprofessional of the manager, how was she even able to see my friends eyes in the dim lighting and from a further distance? It was once again SO HUMILIATING and very poor judgement of our character. We also felt unnecessarily picked on as there were plenty other girls going into stalls together. If the bar had a policy of one person per stall, they should've made a sign in the bathroom or had a FEMALE bathroom attendant present. We felt that having a male security guard walk into the ladies bathroom was super inappropriate.
I'm not being unreasonable as I can my put myself in the establishment's shoes. I did my undergrad in hospitality management and I also work within the hospitality industry. Therefore, I understand the importance of risk, liability, and negligence when substance use occurs in an establishment. However, the way they treated my friends and I was so disrespectful and inappropriate. I can say on behalf of all my friends and I that we will never be stepping foot in there again after being treated like that. read more
