When my boyfriend and I came back to pick my car, up my boyfriend immediately could tell something was off. We took it to reputable glass shop to get a quote on all the damages; my moldings are bent and need to be replaced, my clips are broken, they used cheap glass that isn't sitting in the correct place (which is dangerous to the structure of the car) they chipped my paint and tried to cover it up with touch-up paint, they cut and scuffed the inside of my interior. It's going to cost me $500+ to fix the damages and they won't even refund me the measly $180 they charged me to damage my car, let alone reimburse me for the parts that I'm having to replace because of THEM. Will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I learned that my car was broken into, and my driver side automatic mirror was smashed apart at 5 PM. I quickly taped it up and started to research a place. I was referred to this one, and at 8 AM the next morning I called and asked when I could come in. they said as soon as I like. I made my way over and they were done within an hour. A friend recommended MS Glass after having a good experience getting his windshield replaced. Setting up the appointment with Casey over the phone was easy and she was friendly and great customer service. Gilbert looked like he'd been worked to death but was friendly enough. The place was not clean and professional looking but I felt confident they would get the job done. I took my '16 4Runner in on 5/8 late in the afternoon and the car was done in just over an hour. I was in a hurry so I didn't look too closely at the work. Replacing windshields is what they do so I figured there would be no issues. They didn't bother to vacuum up the mess they made getting the old windshield out and there was hand prints all over the pillar trim but no big deal. In looking closer though, they had hacked up the pillar trim getting the old windshield out. I had left and didn't want to bother going back to hear "it must have been that way when you came in". No, it was not...my car was immaculate. Bottom line, go at your own risk. Read the reviews here and if you really care about your car, just pay the extra 50 bucks to go to one of the national chain glass companies. This place was great! This morning I was hit by a "flying" rock (that someone threw off an overpass) and my windshield was destroyed. I called my insurance company and was given the names of many reputable places I'd heard of. (SafeLite, All star) and also this place. I called around to shop for quotes and a woman at MS Glass Outlett answered the phone. She bargained with me a little, I told her what prices other people were giving me and she quoted me almost $100 less than All Star! (Including the extra fee to have mobile service and get it fixed at my place of work). Someone showed up about an hour later and the job was done in less than 30 minutes. I was the victim of a car prowl in Tacoma last weekend. Called on Monday for a quote, and was told the glass could be in installed on Tuesday morning at 11. They wanted a $50 deposit to secure & ship the glass from Portland. I was unable to do that as my wallet was stolen in the prowl The call center employee understood my situation and ordered & placed the appointment without a required deposit. I drove the same day to Seattle and paid the $50 deposit so they would feel comfortable as was told it would arrive that same afternoon from Portland, and could be installed by 5.30 pm that same evening rather than the next morning. There were a few small hiccups, but I was able to get it installed on time thanks to one employee canceling his personal appointment to stay late. Two things to know- no car wash for 48 hours as they'll explain. I had a fantastic experience here today. I called them on the phone as soon as I got a rock chip on my windshield. They told me to come in and they would check to see if they could fill it rather than replacing the whole windshield. When they saw the damage, they told me normally they can't fill a crack if it's bigger than a dime and close to the edge of the windshield. They took it into the garage anyway to see what they could do and they were able to repair it for $50 rather than $285 to replace the whole windshield. I was in and out in about a half hour. Very friendly and fast service I will definitely come back for any other windshield repairs I might have in the future. read more

I never been treated more rudely by a business. I booked a Saturday 10am appt, for a small (less than dime sized) rock chip in the windshield of a vehicle I had just purchased. I had seen the rock chip prior to purchasing the vehicle, but it was a great value, and I felt the rock chip could easily be addressed. The vehicle has temp/dealership plates. When I pulled in, there was no organization to the parking lot or lobby whatsoever. I parked near the entrance and entered the building. The single guy working eventually called my name, and I told him I had a 10am rock chip appt. He immediately said that he had to see if it was repairable. I told him I believed it was and we walked towards the vehicle. As soon as he saw the dealership plates, he asked if the car was new, to which I replied yes. Then he asked if the rock chip was new, to which I replied no. Then--without so much as looking at the chip, told me it had already been repaired, because dealerships always repair them. I told him it obviously had not, and he said it had--refused to look at it, or fix it, and went so far as to say that I should have seen it before I bought the car. IF he had looked at it, he could have easily seen that it was a quick repair (made by a competitor less than an hour later). IF he had not been a rude, condescending, jerk and the chip were actually not fixable--I would have paid for windshield replacement. I just put over 1500.00 into the car getting it perfect (Audi TT). BUT as it was, I left furious and annoyed. Terrible terrible service with an attitude. I highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

So I show them a text messages and they don't know who that person is who is texting on their Yelp add. 2nd when they done and handover my vicheal the radio knob and air vent knob both are broken. Some idiots shot out the two drivers side windows on my car with a bb gun, so I had to get them replaced. MS Glass was very quick (got me in the next morning and fixed it in about an hour), but they were also very rude. I was asking some very basic questions to make sure I knew what I was paying for and he couldn't give me 2 minutes of his attention to answer those questions. When he did answer, his answers were short and uninformative. We did not have enough of a conversation for this behavior to have been in response to something I did and I had been treated the same way when I called them the day before to make the appointment. Seems to me this is just how the guy at the front desk interacted with all the clients. He was getting a lot of calls and he might have been overwhelmed as a result, but that's no excuse to take that frustration out on every customer, especially considering that most people getting their car windows replaced are likely already having a pretty shitty day! On top of that, when I asked he said that they did vacuum out the remains of the broken glass, but when I looked closely I could still see plenty of glass dust all over. I will start by stating that I have been in the automotive industry - on the retail service end for over 14 years. In that time, I have learned that when a customer has a LEGITIMATE problem or a concern with a service or repair I/my shop had done, I/my shop has to put that before anything else we have going on. That is how I have always handled it anyway. In short, it's an opportunity to re-sell your business to the customer / reinforce just why they chose you in the first place. That said, I will also state that over the years I have sent multiple customers to MS Glass. I have sent family members there, co-workers, neighbors - ANYONE I ever ran across that said they had a glass service need etc. . . Well a couple months ago (summer months) I had the opportunity to be a customer again myself. My Son's pickup was in need of a windshield. I called, got a price, scheduled to have the work done, came in, the work was done. All seemed to go without a hitch and I was on my way. I wasn't even worried about the minor mess they left the interior in - something that 3 min with a vacuum could have taken care of AND the little spacer that goes between the rear view mirror and the windshield . . . I later found under the seat - NO BIG DEAL - took care of that myself and just chalked it up as they were really busy - not really a great excuse and wasn't even true (I was there they whole time - one of 2 cars/customers there) but hey - sometimes we in the service field drop the ball here or there - we are human and although we shoot for perfection it really is rarely achieved ALL the time. ANYWAY . . . Fast forward to last week - a pretty rainy day. My Son calls and says the windshield is leaking. I call MS Glass to try to get them to have a look at it 'this Saturday' and I am told they don't do that kind of work on Saturdays. When I informed the rep that I can't get it over there during the week because I work 7am-6pm Monday-Friday . . . I ask if maybe we can set up a day they can come out (they are 'mobile') to my shop during the week the following week. I am then told they don't do that kind of work mobile either. I stated again, that I can not take 1/2 a day off work to bring it in but I can bring it in any Saturday, Sunday OR they can come by, work on it IN my shop any day that works for them. I was told again that I was outta luck. At this point, I get pretty mad. This is not the way I treat my customers and NOT the way I would have expected to be treated . . . as a customer - ANYWHERE - much less a company I have been sending customers to for years. So, I confirmed with the rep, "so you are just NOT going to fix it - is that right"?!? He cops an attitude, says 'its too early in the day to start off this bad - bring it in Saturday and I'll fix it". The words sound good (when typed out) but was said with a TOTALLY snotty, mean attitude! OK . . . I get off the phone with that guy and think about what just happened here. I thought a lot about the 'relationship' I previously HAD with this business. A bit of fear came to mind with regard to those I had sent there in the past - what if they were treated this way if / when they had a problem? I decided at that point NOT to bring my Son's truck in on Saturday - I will have another company either reseal or replace the darn thing again. I also decided not to send anyone to this company ever again. Their level of 'customer service' does NOT deserve MY business OR that of anyone I know. In the end, quality competition and customer service will likely weed this one out of the market. OR . . .they'll learn customer service is what grows a business. I sincerely hope the outcome is the later but I'm fine with either outcome. read more

I gave this place a phone call to get a quote for a door glass I needed to be replaced on my suv. Before I get into it a little back story- I went to Novus / Speedy Glass ( same company) to get the door glass replaced. The glass they installed was really warped and they won't refund for me to replace with OEM glass unless it's another (warped)aftermarket. So I call and asked for a quote. And I also asked for the price of the OEM. When I asked if I could take a look at the glass before the install I told them my story with Novus auto glass. he simply said "Stop wasting my time". I was trying to calm him down so I could explain why I wanted to go to him and get a quote but I kept getting "your wasting my time, I'm doing all the work you're not doing nothing. Stop wasting my time".. And the worst thing was he wouldn't stop! ...mind blown out of proportions!. Maybe he was having a bad morning but that doesn't warrant that line of saying! He's claiming he'll be doing all the work getting a quote and ordering the glass. I'm guessing he's afraid I wouldn't like the quality of the glass.... Hear ye hear ye! ALL AUTO GLASS PLACES will say AFTER MARKET GLASS IS THE SAME AS THE OEM just w/o the car brand stamp. NOT TRUE(in my cases, twice!) Buyers beware!! My car was broken into late Saturday night/early Sunday, so there weren't many choices to call first thing Sunday morning to get my front passenger side window replaced. But I was heartened by Valerie, who answered for MS Auto Glass and set up an appointment first thing this morning. She even took my auto policy information and told me she'd take care of the claim. I thought that was great. So when I walked in this morning -- even though the place looks totally sketchy -- I was ready for a smooth and fast process, especially because I had to work while they fixed the car. They had my window, but Valerie had made no such call and Gilbert, the manager, told me I had to take care of calling my insurance company and getting a claim number for them before they could start. I was annoyed, but even more so because he wasn't the least bit apologetic about the misinformation I was given. He said he didn't know why she said that. Fine, but can you take note of it for the future? At least acknowledge that someone representing your company isn't giving accurate information? So there's another 15 minutes wasted over something I could have done the day before, had I known. At least the replacement was fast -- within an hour. Gilbert said they'd do their best to vacuum as much glass as they could, but I was still finding little bits and pieces all over the car, and I could still hear broken glass in the door. I'm glad they were able to fix it so quickly, but their lack of thoroughness -- and the attitude -- will keep me from coming back. read more

My old Subaru [Jake] got himself a brand new windshield because it was so scratched from all the ice in Santa Fe, I couldn't see the road on foggy, rainy nights. This does not cause my Hate to Drivedness get any better, let me tell you. Anyway, Ms Glass Outlet did the deed for a whopping $138 plus tax. They even put in new windshield wipers just to be nice. I went here because it was reasonably cheap and local. Expensive mistake. I had my car broken into and had been putting off replacing my badly cracked windshield for a long time, so I figured now was a good time to fix both. I scheduled a time with the main office (the number given is NOT actually the shop), and went in. They quoted me reasonably cheap for both windows and I figured all the 5 great reviews on yelp was a good sign. When I got there they got to work right away and got it fixed in the hour and half they told me it would take, so no problems there. The only instruction I got from the man at the front desk was to leave the blue tape on the car till tomorrow. When I went out to check the work, I noticed they didn't replace the wiper blades as I had asked (and payed for), and I noticed they had blue masking tape running down the sides of the windshield. I told them about the blades and they had the guy doing the work come back and replace the blades. I then drove to work on the highway (which I found out later from a friend was something you should not do for several hours). On that drive the cheap obviously not waterproof masking tape came off the sides of the windshield and was blowing around in the rain and wind. When I finally got to work and looked under the tape I saw the molding around the windshield was wavy with some serious gaps. Not only that, but they used my old molding, but didn't install the top right and top left corner pieces, so there was not a good half inch gap for water to pool in. I was thinking of going back tomorrow to yell at them and get the molding done correctly, but I with the other reviews I think my time is better spent elsewhere. Who knows how badly the windshield was actually glued on, and whether it would just fly off in a collision? Its not worth risking a severe injury. TL;DR - They did a quick cheap job, and I ended up with a discount Chinese windshield installed terribly. I'm going to get the whole windshield redone somewhere with a guarantee. read more

Yes, it looks a bit sketchy - but these guys are solid and I WILL be back. Passenger car window was smashed in during CHBP. I took the car in and asked Gil (owner) to also take a look at my drivers side window (which was off it's track) and asked if he'd be willing to help me put new headlights in while they were working on it. My vehicle is old and requires the doors be disassembled to get to the window assembly (super time consuming), but Gil and his crew took both doors apart, diagnosed the drivers side window problem, replaced the broken window and vacuumed the glass (and residual sand from a beach adventure) out of the car for $100 less than I was quoted from 4 other shops. He even replaced my headlights para gratis just to be nice. Gil and his shop have made a regular customer out of me. Fantastic service and great workmanship at the best prices around. I tried these guys out because all their yelp reviews were 5s. Everyone seemed very happy with them. I also wanted to support a local business. They came out within the estimated time, and the price seemed reasonable--though honestly I didn't shop around. The guy who did the work was very nice and quick. They put a blue tape around the trim to sort of seal it while the glue (?) is drying. Well, when I pulled the tape off, 1 side had absolutely no glue what-so-ever, and the opposite side had a little glue, and the bottom near the driver's side had little glue and came flying up once on the freeway. While reading other's reviews (from the various companies), people would say how nicely the installer would clean up the mess in the car, so I assumed that was a given and I would be left without a mess too. Nope, I was left a mess of scrapings and crud in my car, on the dash, seats and floor. I also found out that this isn't a local company, though they appear to be. Their main office is actually in Portland. I love Portland, but I'm trying to shop within my own community right now while the economy is so crappy. That's just a personal little thing though. So maybe this guy was in a rush and forgot to do the various things he might normally do (I hope so anyway), and I wouldn't normally make a post to complain, but seeing as I made the decision to use them because of the Yelps I read, I felt it responsible not to let it go then. Not too bad, overall. I called another company (you know, the one with all the tv ads) and they quoted me a price for a new windshield that at first seemed reasonable. Until I called MS, that is. They quoted me $100 less than the other guys. Can't argue with that. It was easy to set up an appointment, and they were even nice enough to reschedule me the same day when I couldn't make it at the original time. My only beef is that they said they'd call me when it was done "within an hour or so." After an hour and a half of me sitting in a cafe down the street with no call, I finally walk back to find my car has been done for some time.. Whatever. Recently called for a quote for a windshield replacement. I explained that the windshield crack had occurred before I bought the car, and therefore would not be covered by insurance--and that I had no interest in stretching the truth with my insurance company to get it covered. They still strongly urged me to use my insurance. I cannot imagine why they would care, unless they charge more when they know it's going to be paid by the insurance co. After insisting several times that I preferred to pay out of pocket, even when assured it was not a big deal, they ended up quoting me significantly more than I expected (they have a reputation for being cheap). I tentatively set an appointment anyway, and then called around for other quotes. Sure enough, I found one about 30% less. I called MS back to cancel my appointment. They asked me a series of seemingly unnecessary questions: "Why are you canceling," "How much did they quote you," and worst of all, "How much did WE quote you?" After these surly questions, she put me on hold and randomly transferred me to another gal without warning who picked up the phone and said "can I help you?" Weird. Anyway, I did use them years ago and their work seemed of sufficient quality. But the slight shadiness was a big bummer this time around. read more

My car was broken into and I had to get the window replaced. When I looked here on Yelp, the reviews were good, and when I called, their pricing was okay and they could get me in quickly. Unfortunately, they didn't get all the broken glass out of the door, so when I rolled my window up or down there was a grinding sound. When I closed the car door, I could hear the glass inside the door. I called and they told me "No, we vacumed the glass out." After disagreeing that there could be broken glass in the door, they said I could bring the car back in (another drive across town). I do not appreciate having to make two trips to get the job done right, and at no time did they apologize for the additional time or inconvenience, or for not doing it right the first time. They also left a lot of broken glass inside my car, so I had to clean that out myself. Not happy at all with the quality or customer service. read more
