My daughter began classes back in October. They let us do a preview on a Saturday class to see if it was a good fit. I thought it was a great idea. Funny i had inquired a year prior and the person that answered email was a bit dismissive. Like she asked questions after i told her my daughter had never been in a class. Apparently it's based on age. And she said i could come on a Thursday at 4pm. Which obviously wasn't convenient because we both work til after 5pm. And no follow up. My daughter kept asking about enrollment she was very interested in doing gymnastics,so i tried again and that worked out better. One class and she loved it. I must saw they were very accommodating about moving my payment to a different day than other people because of when we enrolled. BUT that discount they say they will give you if you pay with your bank account is bull. I've never gotten a discount for my e check. Besides these very annoying tactics i still recommend my daughter enjoys it read more

My kids love going to gymnastics at Ms. J's! The gym itself is well-equipped with trampolines, rings, bars, and balance beams well suited for multiple ages and ability levels. The coaches are kind, fun, and do well to keep children safe while having fun and getting lots of exercise. Not only have my kids gained physical skills, they've also grown in confidence and perseverance! This place is a neighborhood treasure. read more

My daughter has been coming to Ms J's for about 4 years, attending day camps and classes. She joined their Xcel team last year and it was a wonderful experience. The instructors/coaches are professional and manage to hit the right balance of disciplined, encouraging and fun. Ms. J and her team are responsive to feedback and special requests. They provided an ASL interpreter for team practices (my daughter is Deaf) and have advocated for my daughter at competitions when necessary to make sure he receives the appropriate accommodations as required by the ADA. On a day-to-day basis, head coach Mara makes a special effort to communicate directly with my daughter. This sensitivity and cooperation is rare and priceless. read more

We visited for there annual Christmas party....so I can't comment on the classes. Place is kind of hidden....away from the crowds. When you first walk in it appears small....this place is huge!! Huge space after huge space! Lots of room to run around...cool gymnastics equipment and fun equipment for the kids! Party was disappointing....was advertised as an "event".....with activities. I purchased a $20 ticket for my 3 year old. There were no activities....that I was aware of at least. They only had snacks...no food. Minimal snacks! Not really clear on who was in charge, younger girls were tending to the party. My daughter has a blast playing and doing "gymnastics"....lol...she's 3! It's a gym with a giant space with great coaches. My kid takes a gym class here and she absolutely loves it. She is in Larissa's class and she is sooooo good at teaching!!! So glad to have Ms J's in the neighborhood. It's the best gym EVER. Tonight we had the best birthday party for my 4 year old at Ms J's. It was just so perfect, I don't even know how to word it! Thank you so much Jerlin, Larissa, and Stephanie for your absolutely fabulous coordination of the party. I don't know how they organized more than 20 of 2 to 4 year old kids and made the party go so smoothly. No kids cried and everyone including parents were so happy the whole time. We started taking our 3 year old here for classes recently and can't speak highly enough of the program and the staff. The classes do a great job developing coordination and strength while also demanding our child's concentration as she has to follow and remember the instructions to pass through the different obstacle courses they devise. The instructors always bring great energy and enthusiasm to the classes as well which makes this our child's favorite class/activity right now. We also did a birthday party here recently and all the kids had a great time. The staff was awesome as always. I have to say their website is kind of a mess and really confusing. I was initially turned off by it since I couldn't figure out class times, prices and age requirements easily. It's best to just go there or call since they have so much happening there. We are so happy to have Ms. J's in the neighborhood and excited that our child can take classes here! read more

My kid enjoys this place, Mr.J and all the staff there are friendly. I didn't give a 5 stars because I think bathrooms need some updates so they can look much cleaner. Their bathrooms are okay they are not always clean. I am surprised no parent had mentioned this as this is a place for toddlers and young kids. read more

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SUMMER CAMP UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY!!! I signed up our son for a two day summer camp (NEVER AGAIN!). The way this establishment charges is very shady. They made it sound like a better deal becoming a member, $50 total then another $10 to change camp days (why on earth?!) and then the camp price which all totaled more than $300 for two days! I got very upset when my son got a bad nosebleed the 2nd day and couldn't attend camp. I tried to get a refund / credit for the day or at least the membership and day change fees reimbursed but they would not hear anything of it! How can you be so un-flexible when dealing with young children? In addition, the staff was very un-attentive to my 4 y/o son who was there for the first time. The person signing us in and out barely knew his name not to mention she couldn't tell me anything of their daily activities. There was no other instructor to be seen or asked any additional information. We don't just sign our kids into camp and forget about it! We want to know what they do and feel when they are there. This place did a lousy job taking care of my son! I will NEVER go back to this place and will make the effort to make sure as many people I can reach hear and know about this. I signed up for the "JB Bday" which is $450, it's the basic party package for 12 kids. JERLIN made sure that I put a deposit down quickly to hold to date for $225 which is 50% of $450, That's the party package that I signed up for and that's what I agreed upon. After the party was over, she never asked me to finalize the bill, she went ahead and just decided on her own that she would charge my credit card that's on file for $425. I ALREADY PAID $225 deposit, now I am at $650, that's $200 extra THAT WAS COMPLETELY UNAUTHORIZED and was never agreed upon, this was added after the fact, after the party for no reason. This is a classic bait and switch. She made 2 unauthorized charges. She charged for extra time that I didn't have and extra children that I didn't have. The party was an hour and a half and she billed me for 2 hours and I had 12 kids and she charged me for 18 kids. I wasn't even happy with the way the party went, but I won't even share those details, I was nice enough to give Jerlin $100 cash tip at the end of the night, I told her to split it with the others who knows if she ever did. I work for a company that's a family run business and we are VERY concerned about customer service. This is the WROST costumer service I have ever seen. You made ZERO attempts. You have all my information; you have multiple ways to get in touch with me. I tried to resolve this amicably in person, I tried calling, I have emailed several times and I was completely ignored, which is so unprofessional. I had to file a dispute with the credit card company and had to write a negative review on yelp to finally get a response from management. Your employee altered an agreement and charged me for services that I never utilized. Until my money is refunded I will consider this matter UNRESOLVED. read more

Where do I start- pretty much most wonderful place ever. Kind, caring, hard working staff that genuinely cares about your child. My child has been attending classes for the past two years. I've seen the instructors deal with pretty challenging children in a loving way with patience and understanding. We've had numerous instructors due to schedule changes and class changes and all of them have been great. We also celebrated her birthday last year and had a blast. It's a Brooklyn gem in the winter with their family fun hours ...and kids night out is a date night favorite. More than anything it is a wonderful gym community that we are proud to be a part of and staff that I trust whole heartedly with my baby. read more

Hello Yelpers! I would steer clear of this business. My interaction from the start with the staff was unclear and misleading. After several phone calls of the staff directing me to sign up a 13yo experienced gymnast for their "family fun" session (which would have been DANGEROUS for both the toddlers and their parents), I emailed and the manager stated an hour rental of the facility would be best for my purpose. At this point I agreed to their overpriced charge and confirmed the session with facility. It was later in the evening (when it is to late to make alternative arrangements) that I received the email that follows With business practices such as these, I would not trust my child in such a facility. My daughters have been coming here for several years and absolutely love it. We have tried other gymnastics programs, but found Ms. J's much more focused and inspired. Ms. J's is a perfect combination of rigorous and loving. They're not fooling around--they really teach kids technique, and to do it well and safely, and they have high expectations. If a child isn't doing it right, they'll be clear and specific about it. At the same time, they are always reasonable and nice, and you can tell that the students are happy to have high expectations and to be working to meet them. read more

A wonderful place for a kid's birthday party. The space is large and filled with mats, bars, obstacles to climb, balance beams, springy mats, the wonderful tumble track trampoline etc. The kids ran around happily and the adults watched and relaxed. The self catered option is very reasonably priced. The girls working are nice and helpful and don't make you anxious. Multiple kids cried at the end of my son's party because they had to leave. Ms. J's is amazing. Our child attended the afterschool (PUP) program and had a great experience. The staff are always friendly and enthusiastic- they never seemed bored or as though it was "just a job". They noticed our child's preferences and talents and never made us feel bad if he had a rough day. The classes are super fun and he definitely gained skills that we weren't expecting from an afterschool program. I would also recommend them for parties and the Kid's Night Out is a great option if you want a date night. They feed the kids pizza and they play with friends and come home ready to sleep, all for less than an at home babysitter! Basically, Ms. J's is awesome and gets my full endorsement! read more

I am a nanny in Williamsburg and not only do my nanny kids love this place, but so do I! The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the venue is very clean and safe, and I've met some really wonderful friends there. This place is mostly a daycare facility. Do not think you are signing up for your child to learn gymnastics. We spent nearly a week here, and it mostly seemed like a "just hang out facility" until the parents pick up. There is no real instruction and the kid are let loose on the equipment and in the facility for hours on end. In the days my daughter has been there, they haven't been to the playground once, nor have they had the same "instructor" for any class. Mostly it seems to be a rotating cast of very nice people who "play" with the kids until pick up. In fact, they may not really play with kids and the facility doesn't seem that safe (there is an open gate where kids can't exit on street) If you need so so day care, fine, if you want your kids to learn gymnastics or have some other intensive or camp-like experience, look elsewhere. read more

The after-school program is a God-send. The kids love it, they play hard, do their homework, and come home happy and ready for bed. The range of activities is broad, but repeated - so there is continuity and progress but no boredom. The director of the after-school program is a great dude and sets a warm and welcoming tone for everyone. The kids really feel at home and as parents we couldn't be more comfortable that our son is in good hands and having a quality experience. We love Ms J's!!! read more

Do not go here for camp! Very rude staff, multiple ages grouped together in small dingy space. Staff adamantly refused to allow our nanny to leave a fold up stroller even for short period even after explaining that she had to walk 30 minutes with our 3.5 year old to get there. After hearing about this from nanny, I called to see if we could just leave it in the corner for one day, until we could make a different arrangement. Ms J herself refused, and made nanny walk the 30 minutes back home in the rain with empty stroller. When I went to pick my son up, there were 4 strollers in the lobby....! My son who is 3.5 is potty trained, but one day he asked for help pulling up his pants. The staff flipped out about this, and it must have affected him because he talked about this incident for a few days. At pick up time, the staff would approach me to mention all of the negative things that (a typical 3 year old) would do during the day (i.e. not sharing, listening etc). They said they gave multiple time outs etc. They spent an afternoon just making paper airplanes, which was presented to me upon pickup. As I was putting on his shoes, my son said "Mom can we just go?" Heartbreaking. They are not geared to take care of the young ones- not compassionate or nurturing in any way. My son did however thrive at a 3 week bike camp (Kiddy Combo Camp) in Whistler BC which ended just one week before, so I don't think its him. read more
