Max provided clear concise answers to all of our questions regarding the best flooring to select for our home's main level (a gorgeous Godfrey Hirst Pure New Zealand Wool Carpet) and he made cost effective recommendations for attractive, affordable, yet durable flooring options to use in our rental properties. Our experience with Max was so different than past experiences with "big box" flooring installers. The big box in-store help doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the product knowledge area and their installation "experts" were actually low-paid, unprofessional subcontractors. BIG MISTAKE. problems with installation, dirty carpet, no cleaning on prep etc etc etc, missed appointments, no call backs. got lots of verbal BS from regional manager but took forever for installation issues to get fixed. This is the letter I wrote to Michael; Michael,…read moreWhen we chose your company to replace our carpet, we trusted that you would use your expertise to guide us in this decision.  You were aware that we had been using an area rug for the past 15 years with no issues.  You knew that we had three large dogs and that is why we were using the area rug, you made no mention at the time of selection that it was not advisable.  Based upon that knowledge, we chose the lighter color carpet to compliment the area rug.  Had there been any conversation regarding the carpet/area rug combo we would have chosen a darker color carpet because of the dogs.   We were under the impression that your organization would have advised us properly at the time of purchase, and now you have left us in a terribly difficult situation.  We have no choice but to replace our carpet and you can be certain it will not be with your company.  We are very disappointed in the extremely poor advice and level of service provided - we had much higher expectations.  And finally, you didn't even give us the courtesy of a phone call.  Disappointedly,Kimberly & James Steinbrenner

It was in such awful condition we thought it would need to be ripped out and redone. Steve the owner of Showtime floors and his crew took on the challenge and successfully resurfaced our garage floor into a beautiful smooth surface. Resurfacing the floor instead of replacing it saved us 10,0000.00. Steve provided us with a lifetime warranty for his work. Showtime Floors is definitely the business to go with for a beautiful garage floor.

Picked Carpetland because they were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. Mistake. customer service is poor, maybe because the workers are part time. Installers laid carpet on the driveway (facedown) for cutting, minimal sweep and clean prep, damaged the paint on three walls, damaged a heat floor register. much more to tell. We loved Mike Kern at Kerns. We should have picked him. our mistake.

I will start that we had 2 projects (one at a rental and primary home) that occurred the same week…read more Kris was great to work with both and made things go quickly getting the new carpet after basement flooded. Both installs went great too. The issue was that on our rental project, I received an email/text with a link for the remaining balance on the day project was completed. This was paid at time it was received. For our home, I did not receive this link (and was waiting). Project was completed on Thursday evening but on Monday received a phone call asking for payment and asked if they would send the invoice and I will pay it. Instead Debra Nowak sends a condescending email with a copy of the invoice and "according to the agreement that I agreed to pay at time of installation," and where to mail the check. I then called the store and asked for email/text to be sent with the link, which is was sent within 10 mins and paid in less than 2 minutes of it being received. It is not my fault that there is not a standard of procedure with Carpetland for collecting remaining balances and that apparently how you collect payment is different from project to project. It is not my fault that Debra apparently did not listen or understand when spoke on the phone asking for the link to be sent and then sent an unprofessional email. We had used Carpetland multiple times and had a good experience but this interaction with Debra really will make me rethink about returning to Carpetland in the future projects with our properties.
