All of the staff members I interacted with were kind, courteous, and knowledgable. Wait times for scheduling were totally reasonable, as was wait time in the actual office. Finally, I received my bill fairly quickly without any billing issues/errors. If I need imaging in the future, I will not hesitate to go to Mt. Baker Imaging.

Mt Baker Imaging does not cater to women who have been sexually assaulted. Their "one size fits…read moreall" approach to mammograms means you can go in and have your breasts roughly handled and shoved into a vise despite the flashbacks you experience from your assault. They used to have breast ultrasounds for screenings which were much easier and better for dense breast tissue in picking up anomalies. Now, they tell women they must get the mammogram, much like men telling women what they must do with their bodies regardless. Now my only choice is a mammogram, or if I want to pay for a MRI out of pocket they will do that. They are not considering what many women have experienced and recreating it- it's called parallel process. Go somewhere else.

I definitely got a bit beat up on the job…read more Over the last two years I have had severe back pain and atrophy in my right leg, with numbness all the way to my foot and into my groin. I was told by an anesthesiologist treating me nerves in my lower back are being compressed. He did not say how. I have done PT, yoga and injections to no avail. I don't smoke, I am not overweight and I am in good shape otherwise. That said, my condition has progressively worsened. I was referred to Dr. Hoekema by the doctor who gave me injections in my back. As it turns out, Hoekema does not see people until he sees an MRI, even with a doctor's referral. I sent him the MRI I had just gotten. After waiting weeks, my Primary Care Physician contacted me and told me Hoekema would not see me because he did not think he could do anything for me. I got no consultation, no physical eval and most importantly...no explanation of what exactly is going on with my back and what to expect as I move forward. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to back issue back issues. I have been to three orthopedic surgeons over the years. They each examined me, reviewed MRIs with me, told me what the mechanical issues were and gave me their diagnosis and recommendations. Two times I avoided surgery and one I did not. Reviews of Hoekema make it seem like he is a bit of a jerk. Heck....the doctor who referred me implied he was. My experience (or lack thereof) with the good doctor does not do anything to contradict that. Frankly, someone needs to remind the good doctor he exists to care for patients. Shame on Peace Health for taking "care" out of Healthcare and thank you UW Med for giving me an appointment with a surgeon in a timely manner. Maybe I don't need surgery....maybe I do, but I expect the doctor there will tell me what exactly is going on with my back and recommend a path forward instead of just blowing me off.

After seeing her quite a few times, her bedside manner was consistently lacking. When I wasn't following her guidelines to a T, she referred me to her husband which seems like quite the norm according to other reviews. Her husband was nice enough, but tried to use scare tactics on me about a health issue that he and I were attempting to work on, but wasn't responding to any sort of medication. And he had the audacity to use those scare tactics on me. Let me just reiterate that. I was already feeling discouraged about my health problem and I was going to this provider for help. I was complying, trying multiple medications that I could not afford, doing the lifestyle changes they recommended, and they felt as though I was not taking it seriously and made me feel awful about myself. Every time I saw Sarah after that, she was extremely hostile with me and would not give me the time of day. As a practice they are completely untrustworthy. I have a friend who have brought in their infant and were given the wrong vaccine. I have friends that have also attempted to seek care from this office and also felt like they were not given the time of day or talked down to. Not only does she talk down to patients, Sarah also talks down to the support staff. And like several other reviews, getting a referral sent was a nightmare. And calling to the office is a nightmare. To get to the point, I don't trust these providers and I will never return to Fairhaven Integrative Health and I strongly do not recommend this clinic to anyone.
