I was so anxious about putting my child in a daycare/school. The management is superb! The teachers are absolutely incredible! (Ms. Emily and Ms. Kelsey) Even though, there was some transition with teachers throughout the year, they handled it gracefully and let us know every step of the way. And, every time I go in they are welcoming and everyone says hi to my son and knows him by name. It's like a family! All holidays and events they make extra special for the kiddos from their Halloween carnival, week long Christmas activities, Easter and Graduation party.

There is constant moving kids from class to class to adhere to state ratio requirements. Naps in the gym implemented occasionally because of lack of staff (again inconsistent y). 5 teachers quit in June and 2 in July that we heard of , resulted in 3 classrooms shut down at one point. It's really sad that this school spiraled downward so fast. We stayed longer than we should have hoping it would turn around. The facility itself is old and needs a major upgrade, the A/C wasn't working properly in June and July, just miserable in there for the kiddos and teachers. After moving to a new daycare, I realize how complacent I was for putting up with mediocrity and sometimes insufficient care. I do hope they can turn it around with the new director.

Flamingo island could not be more committed to children suffering from food allergies. My child suffered from a debilitating disease that made him allergic to almost every single food, and Mrs. K and her staff could not have been more accommodating. To say they went "above and beyond" would be an understatement. They provided my child with a "special" table that was just his and made a big deal about his "special" food to make him feel important and not like an outcast. They've been not only accommodating, but instrumental to his his health and well being as the level of care and compassion they've shown my son has been unparalleled. Not only that, but he has improved significantly in his education since the daycare he was in previously. He came home singing ZYX instead of ABC at three! The campus is clean, SO cute and fun, welcoming and warm. They have fantastic events involving friends and family. I feel so lucky that we found FI when we moved to richardson. It really is a gem. I could not say enough good things.

I found this school has been rated best school in Dallas and Richardson for times. My daughter enjoyed learning and playing there, so I'm able to go to my job and don't feel any hassle. Teachers are so amazing with kids, my daughter loved the school. One thing I hear from owner, this school building is Richardson City assigned as tornado shelter. This is so amazing to me, I can't find any other school have this quality building, as I said I feel safe to have my daughter in Flamingo School, for many reasons. I'm very thankful that my friend introduced me Flamingo School for my daughter. We all loved Flamingo School, I'm strong recommend Flamingo School for all parents. I was thrilled to have gotten him into the program, but that's about where the thrill ended. My son is still in the process of potty training- he has accidents from time to time which is normal for his age. I was assured that it wouldn't be an issue with the class he was entering, and that the teachers would help remind him to go. Instead of giving him a new pullup before or after nap, or even at any point in the day, my son sat in the same one I dropped him off in. I brought it to the attention of the director, who assured me it would be rectified in short order. Instead, on Friday my son came home with a rash all over his private parts and booty because they'd left him in a swim diaper FOR 8 HOURS. I contacted the director who told me we could move him to a lower class, and no real explanation as to why this issue was continuing. If it continues, I will be removing my child from the school. Edited to add update: Bailey actually responded really well with the situation. Most of my issues were resolved because of her swift action at fixing the problem.

I have the unique perspective of being a parent of two children in different learning classroom…read moreenvironments. My children also have experienced transitioning from one environment to the next due to age and readiness of skills. Here's a few examples of what I love about my children attending Park Cities Montessori in their crucial early years of life. The skill set of building concentration on one activity and putting it away before moving on to the next is huge. It teaches a sense of order, helps build patience and perseverance within a task, as well as learning how to take turns and wait until the work becomes available. No matter what activity the children engage in, there is a focus on the process and the beauty of slowing down. There is also ample opportunities for the children to experience nature. There is the crucial benefit to circle time and singing with one another and building camaraderie with one another as a class family. Zero screen time is a huge piece of what makes PCM great because it encourages children to use their imagination and engage in exploration when boredom arises. The practical life skills that my children have developed is incredible. When out in public, the amount of strangers that compliment the table manners our children have at such a young age is a testament to the time they spend at PCM. We put the work in at home, but it is with the guidance and advice from PCM that has led us down such a successful path. Plus it's super cute to see our 20 month old walking everywhere he goes with his hands behind his back. Finally, one irreplaceable quality that PCM staff demonstrates is the love they have for each of their children. My son was enrolled in Nido from 9 months old- 18months old. His bond was so strong with his Nido teachers that after he transitioned to the toddler environment, he would constantly want to show them the new things he was learning and show off his new glasses. The staff always made time for him and made him feel seen, even at a young age. My daughter started in the toddler environment when she was 2.5 years old and transitioned to the Children's House environment a month before she turned 3. Changing environments was worrisome because she was going to be part of a larger class with new teachers and it's always hard to start anew. However, she was always filled with joy and looked forward to going to school. She would get sad when the week was coming to an end and I know that's because of the love she had from her teachers and the love of learning they instilled in her. I cannot thank these ladies enough for everything they have done for my children. I also have a unique perspective being a toddler teacher at PCM and have grown very attached to my class of children. We learn all kinds of skill sets together from putting on our shoes independently, to what it means to listen and create friendships with each other, to learning endless vocabulary, as well as learning how to navigate through big feelings with one another. The children have become a part of me and will forever hold a special place in my heart. Tears fill my eyes as I write this review because I'm so grateful for Park Cities Montessori. Do yourself a favor and get on the waiting list- fast. You do not want to miss the opportunity for your children and family to join an incredible community.

After meeting the director Carolyn and her teachers, we knew immediately we made the right choice. PCM has become a second home to our children and the teachers have become surrogate parents to our girls while we are working. They have both grown leaps and bounds over the two years they have been there. Reading, writing, vocabulary, independence, confidence, practical life skills - academically and emotionally I couldn't be more thrilled with their progress and I credit PCM with fostering all of these qualities in a loving and positive environment. Reinforcing kindness, independence, and friendship with classmates, I couldn't have asked for a better home away from home for them and will be very sad when we have to move on to kindergarten! Highly recommend this wonderful true Montessori school!

The infant room is really consistent about keeping the same 2 teachers, and very low ratios. Ms Sadia is amazing, and helped me, as a first time mom, to know my child was safe and well cared for. All the teachers here really love the kids, and it's obvious. Her teachers from when she was an infant still say hi to her and want to check in and see how she's doing. The toddler rooms are also great. Most of the teachers have been here for several years, so there's a lot of consistency for the kids. I can't speak to the preschool curriculum, since we aren't there yet, but my child was learning even as a toddler about numbers, letters, colors, etc. Music classes are once a week, with more activities available as the kids get older. Right now, in the summer, we have splash pad days twice a week, which my child always looks forward to. The front desk staff -has- had some turnover the last year or so, but seems to have settled back down. Ms Amanda, Ms Kenya and Ms Aisha are all extremely responsive and are great at resolving any issues which come up. The only thing stopping me from a 5 star review is some of the technology, as we did have some trouble with the Tadpoles reports, but they have recently switched to a new vendor, so hopefully this will improve.
