Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Honor Cremation, for taking such wonderful care of my mom.

Customer service: 5/5 Value: 3.5/5 Execution: 5/5 From a service standpoint, they excellent. The team is available 24 hours via phone and text. For the majority of my work with them, they were extremely responsive, had good pass downs between shifts and team members, and worked to meet all our needs and timelines. They never pressured us into anything or upsold us. They just wanted to support whatever we needed. My family needed an expedited cremation and memorial all within a week of my family member passing and Honor Cremations was able to make that happen and get the paperwork done with the county in that timeframe. Honor's paid casket option was cheaper than other crematories and was a very nice, presentable casket. Honor does not embalm in house but has embalming providers they can work with. The only reason I would hesitate to select Honor again is because other crematories were more cost effective (up to $1000 cheaper for our package selections), but Honor did what they could to reduce costs and provide flexible options and offerings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others if service and empathy is a top priority.

I finally went to the office and was given a litany of excuses of why we didn't yet have a death certificate. My sister also left messages, over 6, and emails- none were responded to. My sister had left 3 more messages with no response so I went by yesterday to find out what is going on. The manager was very defensive and didn't want to take responsibility for anything. She said she talked to my sister that morning- she didn't- she left a message saying that the certificate was sent to her house in Santa Cruz- WITH the ASHES!!!!!! In the mail!!! We were supposed to pick up the remains in Santa Rosa. She had stated 3 plus weeks ago that the certificate would be sent overnight. That never happened. It is now Dec 30 and the Certificate and remains have not been delivered. Very unprofessional to say the least. I urge anyone thinking of using Neptune in Santa Rosa, CA to find another service as this one is horrible!! There is something very wrong with this branch I wish I could give a rating with negative numbers.

He was as exceptional with us in 2024 as he had been in 2000. I cannot say enough about the care and compassion and immense kindness that Jack brought to every facet of our mother's funeral planning and execution. He was there, at a moment's notice, whenever I reached out with questions. He saw to every detail with a thoroughness and professionalism that is rare. I found out just how rare when dealing with the cemetery that my mother and father purchased their crypt at, it was not associated with Crosby-N. Gray. My dealings with Skylawn cemetery left me shocked and traumatized. I am so grateful that I chose not to have them handle the arrangements. I was so grateful to have Jack Jensen there to listen to my agony and make everything that his company did go as smoothly as it possibly could. My mother had very specific ideas about her obituary. Jack saw to it that they were carried out. When one of the obituaries didn't provide the same layout for the online obituary--which IS forever!--Jack made sure to handle it so that my mom's wishes were followed in all permutations of her physical and virtual obituaries. When my mother was young...and even middle aged...there was a tried and true formula for a funeral. There would be a wake for one or two nights, then the actual funeral mass, then the burial. That simply doesn't happen anymore. So, you might ask, If I had the crypt at Skylawn and the church handled, why would I need to use Crosby-N. Gray? Because every single thing that needed to be done and done well was handled by Jack Jensen. I didn't have to worry about anything. I gave him the obituary and those instructions, I chose a coffin, I brought her clothes and makeup and that was it. Jack ushered my mother--and us!--through all of this, from the hospital to his location, to the church, then back to his location, then to the cemetery the next day in the most compassionate and professional way possible. He was a constant, calm presence that truly made the unbearable bearable. He has our family's highest respect and gratitude.

The lodging area and whalers cove is worth a stop along Highway 1 Perched dramatically on a cliffside on Highway 1 , the Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park is home to one of the tallest lighthouses in America. Tied as the tallest on the West Coast at 115 feet, it has been guiding mariners along the rugged Pacific coast since 1872. The site gets its unique name from the Carrier Pigeon, a Gold Rush-era clipper ship that famously ran aground on the foggy, jagged rocks just 500 feet from shore on its maiden voyage in 1853. While the historic white masonry tower itself is currently closed to the public for a major structural restoration project, the park grounds remain completely open and offer plenty to explore. Be sure to check out Whalers Cove which is a scenic, secluded beach nestled directly below the south side of the Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park. Piece of history: In the mid-1800s, it served as a bustling hub for shore whaling operations, where Portuguese whalers would spot migrating whales from the bluffs, row out in small boats to hunt them, and bring them back to the cove to process the blubber. Today, the cove is a protected, peaceful sanctuary where nature has reclaimed the shoreline. Lodgings at the Cove: HI Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel If you are looking to stay overnight right on the edge of the cove, the primary lodging option is the HI Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel. The accommodation is unique because it sits directly on the state park grounds, offering an incredible, budget-friendly coastal experience that feels like your own private estate. The Accommodations: The hostel is comprised of four historic, white-picket-fenced houses that originally served as the homes for the lighthouse keepers and their families. Guests can book affordable, straightforward shared dorm beds, or opt for private rooms within the houses. below. Note: Because of its unparalleled location right on the Highway 1 coastline and its highly affordable rates, rooms and beds at the hostel tend to book out many months in advance, especially for weekend stays.
