Never had stayed at this hotel before booked online looked like a really nice place. When we got there, the room was pretty clean except for two little bugs we found crawling in the bathroom, which looked like had been just redone. The carpet definitely needs to be ripped out and the couch had a few stains on it. This hotel is definitely dated and needs to be upgraded. My granddaughter did enjoy the pool, but she is five years old and loves every pool. Don't know if I would stay here again. read more

The staff was very friendly & gave recommendations on places to eat. They also offered to put our laundry in the dryer so that we could go eat. We were on a 2 week road trip and so happy to do some laundry. The room was decent size but needed over head lights vs just lamps because it was dark. Large fridge was nice. My husband and I came to NH for 3 days of biking and 2 days of hiking. We stayed in several different places. I don't think we had ever stayed in such small accommodations. This is not really my kind of place to stay in; however, I can say nothing bad about it. Although small, it was clean. This place was refreshing. After coming to the white mountains for 35 yeArs most of the hotels are run down. It's nice to find a clean, modern place to stay. The pool was super clean, and stayed open late. Great place to stay if you're looking to ride the states Atv or snowmobile trails. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The location of the motel is close to shops, restaurants and most important for us, the Mt Washington auto road. The pool was not only a nice bonus but super clean. COVID precautions were in place. I selected this place because it boasted a hot tub, the pictures looks nice, claims of a restaurant on property, and it's location to Sunday River. I arrived on a Thursday around 8:30pm. Key was in the mailbox by front desk. The pool and hot tub area were dirty and clearly the hot tub was not available in winter. Fine. No problem. I went into the room and the television didn't work. I called the number located on the door to the front desk. No answer. Called the front desk by dialing 0 on the phone in room to no avail. No one was available. Fine...who needs a tv anyway. Went to bed in a mediocrely comfortable bed. Called front desk next day after 8am and explained issue with TV. The manager said he can move my room. Great. Came back after a full day of skiing and switched rooms. The new room did have a working tv but the fridge did not work and smelled, the shower was cold, and the toilet was dirty. When I told the front desk manager he said it was because no one stays upstairs. Okay, we'll you put me up there. I'm not complaining as I was safe and had a roof over my head. However, this was not the expected experience based on pics and amenities listed. There is no restaurant I saw and it seemed very run down. It's a lot of money to spend when there are other places in close proximity that I debated booking, but settled here based on its supposed amenities. Perhaps it's more of a summer place ‍ read more

Under new ownership- its NOTHING like it was a few years back...drove 3 hours to get there and could not wait to get in hot tub...but first nearly missed the hotel as there were no outside lights on at 8pm on a Friday. night... check in and ask where the hot tub and heated pool are and was not only alarmed at the fact that i WOKE the man at desk up (!!!!) but was informed that hot tub is not on be it COST TOO MUCH MONEY, which was also the reason I was told that there were no outside lights on. DISGUSTED! paid $230 per nite for 2 nights and then found that AC is on timer and wont go below 70'. RUDE manager and they cheap out wherever and whenever they can. EXPENSIVE here for your stay. Be sure to look around for lower prices before settling here. We paid just over $200 a night for their "luxury suite" which was not luxury. Maybe it is more luxury for the motels and inns in the area, but certainly not "luxury" and this is why. First, when we arrived, the woman at the counter was on the phone, taking call after call and answering for the sister inn down the street. We stood in the lobby for 20 minutes before being addressed. Once having been addressed, checked in and no other information was provided, just here is the key and you are room 112, lower level. We asked about the area and she had no information other than to avoid a particular restaurant because it was a tourist trap. We had no idea of any restaurants in the area other than with Yelp, which saved us for this entire trip. After checkin, we proceeded to the ground level room, which was right next to a coke machine. When you book, all suites are on the ground level. The room had two very small queen beds, with about 24-inches between each and only one night table, no closet and two separate places to hang clothing in the very small room, with only 4 hangars. See the photos for the truth of how small the room is. The other room had a chair, couch for two people, apparently can use as a pull out, an area for a small refrigerator, microwave, and the phone. Plus a very small table with three seats. The fridge is not oversized either like they advertise. The bathroom is very small with the shower/tub, toilet and sink. This room would certainly be crowded with 6 people. Two of us had enough space. I could not imagine being in here with 4 more people. The air quality in the room was terrible for each day we were here. The humidity inside was very high which means the AC unit isn't working properly. We would wake up and see humidity on the bathroom mirror without having used it. So this made the room damp and also difficult to breath, particularly at night. Sleeping was difficult because of the air and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The first night, TV would not work and at 9:30pm, the woman at the desk came over to try and fix it. About 40 Minutes later, she got it going but not after having to call Someone for help. The second night was terrible not only because of the poor air quality but because the people upstairs were jumping around and banging, which you could hear very clearly. It was very annoying and no reason for it. The bathroom door does not close, but likely because the wood is swollen due to the humidity. Parking was terrible the second night also because of all the ATVs in the parking lot. When we arrived, we saw some ATVs parked on the wrong direction blocking parking spaces. We had to leave and return a few times to be sure to have a parking spot. We had to cut off our night time activities early because of the terrible parking. Overall, not pleased with having to pay $200 for this two-night stay but a decent stop. Staff are very friendly though. read more

I had to share this through a quick review. So, we planned a weekend in NH with my daughter and grandkids, had made reservations to take them to Santa's Village for the first time and found Mt. Madison to have availability. So I booked two rooms for the weekend, everything was looking good, the kids were excited etc.. well that changed quickly, the kids got sick with a flu bug. When we found out yesterday afternoon (11/8), we thought it best for not only the kids but for any guests staying if we cancel this weekend trip. So upon their return from the Dr. I immediately logged on to cancel our stay, well I was within minutes too late and was hit with a $262 charge from this facility. While I do understand policy, we think it's horrible that because we feel we were doing the right thing in cancelling and not risking others to a flu bug, we incur such a charge. We didn't wait, we immediately cancelled. I guess I thought by doing the right thing they would have showed a bit of empathy and waive any charges. This place is one of the worst sleeping establishments I have ever stayed at. I urge people to avoid it like the plague.

Just stayed there the last few days. The pros- The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were clean and seemed to be newly refurbished. The pool was reasonably nice. They allowed dogs, which is why we chose them. The location is good, walking distance to several restaurants. The cons- The first night there (Thursday)was nice and relaxing. We got there late and just got a pizza and ate it out by the pool. We were there to hike the trails around the White Mountains and got up early the next morning to do so. When we got back late in the afternoon the property had been taken over by Atvs, Quads, etc. When I say taken over I mean it felt like locusts. They were everywhere , I don't know if it was just this weekend or all summer. I am not against this hobby, I have a quad at home, but this was ridiculous. It's all we could hear. They parked them in all the parking spots, even in front of my room. The property is non smoking but they all smoked outside resulting in a cloud of smoke when I would open my door. When we were trying to leave this morning one of their trailers was blocking my truck for about an hour, and the owner was put out when I asked him if he could move it. The rooms were very dark, needed more lights, and the windows only had blinds that blocked all light but we needed for privacy as we sat in our prison cell. No housekeeping, but that wasn't their fault thanks to Covid, but since we has to ask for things would have expected to have more than 2 towels and 1 tiny bar of soap. In summary, this is a safe, clean place that accepts pets. I just wish they had warned us about the convention that was coming. read more

Quaint small town motor inn type hotel and beneficiary of its location. It is a 4 star in terms the Gorham market but would rate 3-3.5 in other small town markets with more completion. Nice hotel staff. We had the two room suite which was clean and in good condition. The WiFi was great but the channel selection package the hotel selected from DirectTV needs improvement; literally 3-5 channels of watchable content. Pool looked nice but had over 20 folks in it. I was exhausted after a ATV trip and not one part of me wanted to make the four hour drive home, so last minute I hopped on Priceline and booked a room here for just under $100. I am not really sure what to say. The North Country doesn't have great lodging. The room was small and over priced. The bathroom was barely large enough to turn around in. Additionally, depending on the location of your room there is a good possibility (90%+) that it will be proximal to train tracks. Given that you can count on be woken up about every 4 hours by the piercing train whistle. Additionally, your room will shake more than a house on the San Andres fault line. Regardless, this motel is still many times better than the Hikers Paradise. read more

Dont pay attention to any bad reviews of this place. We stayed here before our Presidential Traverse and everything was wonderful. The staff was excellent and recommended some great restaurants in town. The room was super clean (this coming from a germaphobe) and the beds were really nice. The walls are thin so I did hear a little noise but nothing worse that what I've had in a Holiday Inn. I give this place five stars across the board!! Stayed with a large group of people for several nights last August. Very nicely decorated and updated rooms. Supremely comfy beds! Nice to have mini-fridges in the rooms and gas grills for guests to use. Pool was large and clean and hot tub was very nice to have since even in August the North Country can be chilly. Staff and owners were super helpful and friendly. Only downside was it was on a busy corner but other than that definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable motel. read more

They gave us suggestions on where to eat and activities to do. The outdoor pool was clean and operational. They even have a blow up bouncy house for the kids! Very disappointed. Myself and a group of friends have been going here every summer for 5 years now and we always had a great experience.. except for this time . Upon arrival I was not familiar with any of the workers so I asked the young male at the desk if there are new owners and he stated " yes my family and I bought this 4 months ago" and I said oh okay that's good ! He handed me an envelope with my name on it and instructed myself to inform our group of friends to park our trailers behind the convenient store that they also owned .. this was also news to us .. after unloading and going to our "Room 5" which we have stayed in many times, it did not look as tidy as it usually was . Carpet dirty and bathroom toilet had a stain on it . There was also a smudge of blood on the door frame of the bathroom, no tissues in the room , no conditioner sample bottles and the room had a weird smell to it . I unpacked and then sat outside in a broken chair outside of my room and noticed the landscaping not as well kept as normal . Sign covered by weeds , grass growing into the pool area , cigarette and cigar butts all over the grass all in reach for my 20 month old to pick up , pool not heated and fire pit not working . The following day my friend needed towels and decided to go ask the front desk, the women in there did not speak English and could not help him, my other friend had a mouse in his room and another friends room smelt unbearable and the ac leaked all over the rug . It's safe to say the new owners are not keeping up with this which was an amazing place and we will NOT be going back . read more

Check in was easy. The room was clean the beds & pillows were comfy. The rooms are nicely appointed with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and TV. There's a pool, laundry room, and gas grills for guest to use. The only things that we noticed were two of our towels were dirty and the coffee cups weren't individually wrapped. During the pandemic I think that is still a must! We would stay here again if visiting the area. read more

This place is a lot nicer than I expected. Nothing fancy, but the rooms look recently updated and everything is clean. The staff absolutely could not be nicer! Every single person I have interacted with has been friendly and helpful. There is a good sized refrigerator and a microwave in the room. They also have gas grills available for guest use. It can be loud depending on the activity of other guests, but not much that can be done about that. It wasn't excessive or late into the night in any case. I stayed at this "motel" this past weekend with a large group of friends and we were ALL extremely disappointed. First, there was no one working the front office upon arrival (4:00 PM). We stood there for about 10 minutes and when someone finally showed up, he did not speak a lick of English. All he did was hold a bucket of envelopes up and we had to find our name/reservation. We tried to ask about ice and pool towels and he was unable to assist. In the evenings there was absolutely NO ONE on property or in the office for questions, concerns or security. The pool is no longer heated, as advertised. The firepit did not work, as advertised. The bar of hand and bath soap is now about the size of a quarter. The cooking grills have been removed. The rooms and carpets had a very musty smell and are not very clean at all. This is a result of the A/C's leaking the water back into the room instead of draining outside. The worst part was, we were woken up in our room hearing noises. Once we turned the light on, we saw a mouse running around the room trying to get into a closed bag of snacks on the table. This is unacceptable and does not make for a comfortable and relaxing stay. For the amount of money charged the owner and staff need to really really step up their game. For $613.00 a weekend, we shouldn't have to share our room with rodents. ADDED 8/22 BTW. I emailed my disappointment and informed them of the rodent(s)..........got ZERO response. read more

This was our second stay at Mt. Madison Inn and Suites and it did not disappoint. When you walk in the lobby smells like maple syrup and the staff is just as warm. Super easy check in. The resort is well maintained and easy to navigate. We had the same room 2 years and in a row and both times it was extremely clean. Beds and pillows are super comfy and it's updated vs a lot of the hotels in the area. The heated pool and hot tub are a huge bonus for our family as our kids could swim all day and have a late night swim before bed. Pool was very clean along with the hot tub. Our room was small, but very clean and simple. It's the perfect size for two with a king bed, a desk area, bathroom, and microwave and fridge. My family and I stayed I. This motel for 3 nights t is past weekend. It was wonderful. They were very accommodating..we had 2 rooms and made sure our rooms were adjoining and had great packages for the local parks. It was perfectly located between amusement parks and other local attractions. The bathrooms were quite small, however we stayed there to benefit local attractions, not take luxurious baths or showers, the water was hot and you can't really ask for more with kids, also I only had heard the train once in the 3 nights I was there and didn't wake my husband or our 3 year old, it was very small anyway. The pool was great, but my favorite was just sitting out on the balcony looking at the mountains and taking in the fresh NH air! Thank you to everyone at Mt. Madison Inn for a great stay! My wife, daughter and I stayed there this past Sunday - Wednesday. This has to be one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at. The pool, hot tub and bounce house was clean as can be. I noticed there was someone out there every morning cleaning them. The beds were super thick and soft and the comforters they use are not the same as the big name hotels, they are actually comfortable. The room also had a decent size TV w/Direct TV an over-sized mini fridge, coffee maker...my favorite - 2 chairs and a small table outside your door. I have been coming to this motel for the last 7 years and I'm very disappointed with the new ownership. When I arrived I noticed the sign representing the motel was barely visible through the weeds and not illuminated, the grass around the pool fence, flag pole, was not trimmed. the two gas grills that were placed around the pool area were gone and wasn't a garbage can anywhere around the ground so trash from guests were sitting outside they're doors. Their ice machine was broken for the entire weekend, so no ice unless i wanted to walk across the street to Sam's Variety, the same owner of the motel, and purchase it. The room is will not be cleaned unless asked, so you will have to ask for towels, soap, TP, etc. I was greeted by staff that told me that because I arrived early the room would not be available until 3pm however if I provided them with an additional $20 they would place me on a list to clean the room sooner, although with the other owners this was never a problem. Unfortunately, I will NOT be back it's definitely not worth the price, it was very evident that there was a new owner, went downhill quick! read more

The second room was nice, let me explain the first room was full of flies on the pillows ,windows bathroom so the staff moved us to a different room ,while we were there the place is full of off roading riders that block the whole parking lot with there quads and trucks and trailers so if you go out when you come back there was no place to park.when we went to check out the woman asked how was the stay when we told her she didnt seam to concern with the condition of the room but we did notice there was a fly catcher in the window of the first room. If the owner would like to contact me i would love to hear from them until then every web site will get poor reviews there is no way this is a 4 star motel two stars is one too many. read more

What a great place to stay in Gorham! We stayed a few nights to go ATV riding in Jericho. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Very ATV friendly - ride from your room, through town and to the trails. So convenient! Hotel itself was great. Super clean rooms (this coming from a wicked germaphobe!). We stayed here 8/3/2015 while visiting Mount Washington. Our stay was brief as we arrived late. The room was clean and spacious the fridge was a great size! The bathroom was a little dark and I did not feel comfortable giving my 3 year old a bath in it. It kind of reminded me of a dark hole in the wall area. No big deal though since we only stayed one night. They gave us room number 1 which was right by the street and you could hear the trucks going by throughout the night, it didn't keep us awake though. Strange thing when we arrived there was a bath towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door as if it had been used. Maybe they forgot to grab it during cleaning. All in all it was a great stay and clean room. The pool area and bounce house looked nice, we just didn't have time to utilize them. I would recommend this place if one had to stay in Gorham. Such a wonderful hotel to stay at, especially with your kids/family/friends! Carmen and the staff were nothing short of amazing. So attentive and so pleasant the entire time, from morning to night! Vey accommodating and helpful. We all loved swimming in the pool and hot tub, during the day and at night. And the kids LOVED the bounce house! Rooms were very clean and fully stocked with towels and toiletries. Rooms had TV, fridge and microwave. We highly recommend staying here and if we should find ourselves up this way again in the future, this is where we will stay every time. read more
