What a surprise in a small town off the beaten path. Mt Pleasant Grille is an upscale diner. The food selections are not just standard diner food. Chicken salad is prepared in house. Super. Americana selections as well. All cooked to order. Do not miss the warm brownie served in an iron skillet. Oh boy. Kayelee was our server. So sweet and knowledgeable. We drove an hour to reach the town of Mt Pleasant. Worth it!

This place is in a downtown area that was under a street construction but amazing atmosphere, the waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious and well prepared. Seating and music with apparently events! If you are in the area you need to check this place out for some wonderful food selections and do try their daily specials. Like the salmon fiesta!

I ordered their Swiss cheese burger with sautéed mushrooms and onions, they're not using regular hamburger bum but brioche bun which is delicious, it was really good burger and their service also good and fast, definitely come back when we are around town.

Old vintage corner building with a rich history now houses a somewhat unique eatery that's part soda-fountain malt-shop & part upscale bistro. Overall it seems to work -- especially when you dive into the tasty Pimento Cheese Fritters with a side of hot pepper jelly -- it helps set the stage for other unique offerings on the robust menu. We were in the mood for a gourmet cheeseburger and the chicken salad sandwich. And weren't disappointed. The pace is somewhat slow here which is too be expected with types of dishes on the menu.

Looking for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Mule Days was happening in Columbia, so we decided to venture to Mt. Pleasant to avoid any of the large crowds. We found Mt. Pleasant Grille. We had a total of 9 of us and we're able to get a table fairly quickly. The waiter let us know right away it would be about 20 minutes before our order could be taken. They do this to avoid backing up the kitchen, that way your food comes out as fresh as possible. I had the Creamy Cajun Pasta and it was fantastic. Had the perfect amount of spice. The service was great and the food came out very quick for how many people were in our party. Prices are reasonable and they also have a full bar. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Our server was very sweet. The restaurant was clean and open. Nice selection on the menu. Deviled eggs were great. I like the pearl onion on top. We had the California chicken and smokehouse burger. We also had beignets for dessert. Everything we had was really good. Will be back.

We decided to take a day trip to Mount Pleasant and visit the Mt Pleasant Grille. It was a charming restaurant, very clean, looked newly renovated. Bathrooms were some of cleanest public bathrooms we've ever seen. Food was reasonably priced given the amount of food you receive. The quality of food was excellent. My wife ordered a "well-done" Mushroom Swiss burger and I ordered a "medium" Smokehouse Burger. Both came exactly the way we ordered them. The server was very attentive and provided excellent service. Needless to say we will be back and soon.

The service is usually very friendly - they have no problem joking around with you...no dry personalities reciting from corporate requirements, here. One particular occasion, we called a to-go order in and they had sold out of peaches and cream fried corn on the cobb (which is to die for). The sweetheart on the phone literally went to the Winn Dixie across the street and purchased some, so I could have it along with their fantastic, hand pattied burger. How do you ask for better service than that? You can't. Their chicken and dressing is excellent, the hoe cakes are straight out of my childhood and the catfish....the huge, plate covering pieces of delicious white meat (no slimy stuff in theirs...looking at you, chain restaurants) are my absolute favorite. We've always had overwhelmingly positive experiences at Christine's and can't wait to go back. We've been there when they're short staffed and I've had to resist the urge to ask if I can help them when I see them running around like crazy. Instead of griping when something isn't perfect, maybe figure out how you could help? It's not like they are expensive. We have no trouble grabbing our own extra napkins or going to them to ask for butter or a drink refill, ourselves. This has only happened 1-2x but cut them some slack. You're getting good food at a really good price - maybe don't be so high maintenance. Or, go to a Michelin rated restaurant, instead, if you want your every whim indulged, the moment you have it. As for us, we'll happily keep Christine's as one of our favorite local spots and return as often as possible.

talk about a comeback…read more The Southern Table staff and management sought to ensure we had a great experience this time and excelled. Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

I was disappointed because it is rare for us to enjoy a meal out, and Southern Table, to this point, has been my favorite place to have dinner in the entire north Alabama region! I crave Chef Yokley's wood-fired oysters and find this dish consistently filling and delicious as it has been for years! Because Hubs did not want any oysters, I got 2 pairs of oysters on the happy hour menu which were extremely reasonably priced at either $1.00 or $2.00 per oyster. Were they wood-fired? Yes. Were they rich and decadent like all previous times I have tried them? No. Were they small? Yes. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a small oyster, in fact my favorite oysters, Murder Points, are typically small, or small-ish. The recent visit, the oysters were way smaller than the shucked shell they were heated in with the parmesan cheese sauce, meaning the cheese overwhelmed and dominated any oyster goodness (brininess) you could have tasted and enjoyed. And, the last of the four oysters had some tough mollusk piece that I actually had to just spit the whole oyster out in my napkin. Either bad shucking or lack of expediting/checking the dishes leaving the kitchen, or both. It was sad. Chef Yokley posts a lot of photographs of his dishes/drinks on Facebook and I had seen his crab cakes with a unique and very interesting sounding salad with citrusy flavored greens and unique berries I had never tried. Well, wouldn't you expect the server to tell you about the specials and describe them? Ours did not. I had to pull up the photograph from Facebook and ask the server about it. They offered an appetizer size of the dish and an entree sized version. I got the appetizer. It was okay. There wasn't as much of a sear on these smallish crab cakes, as I like and the "salad" was more of a garnish, meaning, it would have been nice to have more of the salad than I received. I had to chase down the server to get hubs water refilled (he would have had non alcoholic beer but Southern Table doesn't have any) and to get me a second glass of house white wine. Hubs ordered a wood fired pork sandwich with French Fries. He said it tasted a lot like Lawler's barbecue. He added "and that's not a bad thing!" The sandwich was nothing special, honestly to the Hubs. It will be a while before I return to Southern Table, sadly. I think Chef Yokley needs to step up his expediting game and his attention to detail.
