Quiet, clean, reasonably priced, and conveniently located…read more I've stayed here twice this year, for three nights each time, using it as my home base for exploring the mountains. As it's located between Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens, it's ideally situated for someone who wishes to see two very different volcanoes in a single trip: one hour's drive time will place you at either the Nisqually or Stevens Canyon entrances to Mount Rainier National Park, or an hour and a half to travel to either the western or eastern entrances to Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Seasons Motel has the classic motel architecture, with room doors opening to the parking lot, so you can park within twenty feet of your front door (I find this preferable to lugging my gear through a long corridor!). Plenty of external staircases provide easy access to the second floor, but if you're mobility-challenged you can always ask for a first floor room. Large covered trash bins are provided at the base of each stair, so you can easily empty the bins in your room. Hot breakfast is served at 7am, though I skipped it most days so I could get to the mountains before sunrise. A Mexican restaurant is located across the parking lot, and there's a diner a block away with seating and carryout service. It's also right next to a gas station, so you can fuel up before your adventure on isolated forest service roads. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. The air conditioners are quiet and effective, with an easy to use touch-screen thermostat. Water pressure is excellent and the three-function shower head can be angled to your preference. Cable TV, Wi-Fi, and cell phone signal strength are all good. I plan to stay here again next year.

In the early morning, it was foggy, but I was able to see the mountain. The room was clean and spacious. There's a fridge and microwave. The most unfortunate thing was the poor lighting like at any other hotels and motels. I don't understand why they like to keep rooms dark. The office is open until 10 pm, so you can check in a little late. There is free breakfast from 7 am-9:30 an, which was nice.

When you walk in, the place smells of vanilla, not the old musty smell you would expect from an old building. We were greeted by a very nice lady who checked us in and let us know of the popcorn and coffee available for guests in the lobby. Our room was clean and spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting Mt Rainer National Park.

Full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, crock pot, coffee maker, blender, hot-tub, full bathroom, laundry, deck, loft bedroom, etc. Right outside the park & within 5 minutes of 2 local stores, town parks and amenities. TV for movies, game cabinet for fun times. Hot tub was fun, but jets stopped working 2nd night. Control panel looks waterlogged, but still was warm and comfy. Be aware of possible power outages in the winter/storm season. They do have a backup electric powerpack that handled the coffee maker for us and the tree lights for a couple hours. They also have a stash of flashlights and lanterns that will tide you over until the power comes back on. It only went out for us on our last morning there. (there was a huge windstorm the night before that downed some power lines) Would be back if we stayed in the area again.

We chose the Mountain View Lodge the first time we made the big trip, because of the good price, and return over and over again because of the great accommodations. Every time we stay we have a comfortable room, nice breakfast and we can get out and get on the road quickly and easily. We have arrived very, very late on some occasions, and the owners are there, friendly and ready to get us checked in. Last time I stayed they had a small fridge in the room, which was new from the previous stay. One time my TV was missing the remote (I noticed right when I walked in) and they moved me to the next room over. I am an extremely light sleeper, but the motels on the highway location has never bothered me. The highway isn't very busy, especially at night. I have come here alone (I'm female) and with my husband. I have always felt very safe. I have recommended this motel to my family, who now stays there each time they make the trip to our side of the mountains. They have had nothing but positive experiences as well. I believe they also have little cabins behind the motel with kitchens. We might book one this summer for a family gathering.

I love unique stays like this while road tripping, feels like true Americana. You can tell that the owners and employees take a lot of pride in cleaning and caring for the train. I noticed how someone hand made the curtains. The trains have showers in them! I thought maybe we would have to walk to bathhouses outside- nope! You park next to the train. Keys are in key boxes. The rooms smell wonderful with a lot of nice charm. They even left popcorn in the microwave!!

They seemed extremely short-staffed, and we ended up standing around the restaurant area for at least 30 minutes just waiting for someone to help us check into our room. We also had a 6:30 reservation at the Dining Car Restaurant. Even with a reservation, it took about 20 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, we waited another 30 minutes without a server even coming over to take a drink order. When someone finally came to our table, we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Our drinks didn't arrive until our food did, which took roughly another 30 minutes. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and there was practically no sauce--it was basically plain noodles with a little bit of meat. My girlfriend ordered the ham steak dinner, and her entire meal was cold. With meals priced around $40, I expected significantly better service and, at the very least, hot, properly prepared food. Not to mention our server, had her vape tucked into her bra, sticking out of her shirt at the table, which I thought was extremely unprofessional. Unfortunately, the room itself wasn't much better. The train car was freezing cold, and as we're staying in a train car, spiders are expected and bugs but the sheer amount of spiders that we slept with was out of this world. The bathroom was also extremely cramped, with the toilet positioned right up against the wall, making it very uncomfortable and definitely not plus-size friendly. I understand that being short-staffed can make things difficult, and I try to be patient and understanding when that's the case. But between the confusing check-in, extremely long waits, poor restaurant service, disappointing food, cleanliness concerns, and uncomfortable room, this experience simply did not match the prices being charged. For $250 a night and plate of food that cost roughly $40 apiece. We were extremely disappointed We were really looking forward to staying somewhere unique, so it was disappointing for the experience to turn out this way.

The four bedrooms were set up perfectly for our family that only includes one pre-teen. This place is excellent and well worth the money. It is a private, secluded lodge situated in a spot that is right before the entrance to Mt Rainier. The stream running through the backyard created a serene environment and the hot tub was perfectly set against it. Be careful with that hot tub in the snow - once you get in, you may not be able to get out! :) There are some disadvantages that you should know about. The water pressure in the bathroom was very weak. The power went off 3x, we called the numbers listed in the book and they eventually returned our calls a few hours later. Beautiful location, beautiful cabin, wonderful weekend!

Unfortunately, once we arrived, we noticed a note on the front of the dishwasher that said "out of service". Okay, no biggie... *trying to be understanding as things happen*. Entered the cabin further and noticed pretty peculiar smells throughout (I thought, well, its a cabin in the PNW, so I imagine it may smell peculiar and soggy from time to time). As I tried to reason that the cabin was worth the $370ish we spent per night, I was proven more and more during our stay as to why that wasn't the case... Tried to turn on the fireplace in the main house, doesn't work. Shower spout is falling off, possibly black mold in the smaller bathroom located by the front door, walls are extremely dirty (especially in high touch areas and behind the garbage cans). Cobwebs in the corners, dead bugs hanging from the light fixtures, igniter on the BBQ doesn't work, couches were sticky and smelled odd, white towels were noticably dirty even though they were washed, beds were so uncomfortable and horrible that we left a day early... The good part of this trip is that we did spend time as a family and played some pool, hiked Mt. Rainier, and enjoyed some down time. Pool table was a great thing to have access to during our stay. The creek in the back is very beautiful in the early morning/late afternoon...but that's about it. I would not return and would not recommend others to stay here & spend this type of money per night until the owners choose to put some TLC into the place to improve its current state. Also, if you are looking for a secluded place to stay, this one isn't it. The Lazy Bears cabin is located in a small-ish community/HOA with many neighbors nearby.

Before I even got to my ski lesson, the staff fixed me up with rental gear, heard my concerns around my boot fit feeling too tight and allowed me to exchange the gear with ease. I forgot a pair of goggles, and the nice young man assisting me with my skis lent me a pair without charging me. During my lesson they even assisted me with getting my lift pass for me from my locker when I didn't realize I needed it on me. It truly was above and beyond! I took my first ski lesson at Crystal Mountain with Chane. He was knowledgable, patient, and very encouraging. His instruction was clear and had me ready for the slopes by the end of our lesson. I spent the rest of the day practicing and even had lunch in between! Their Fireside Cantina was delicious and hit the spot (try the wings! they were crispy and delicious). Getting to and from the mountain was easy as well-the shuttle from the Enumclaw Expo Center was on on time and a smooth ride. I am so excited to go back and get to skiing again because I know I can look forward to another amazing experience.
