We stayed at Indian Henrys Cabin this past Christmas Weekend. Family of 5 w/3 5 and under. Ample room for everyone, looks like it was just remodeled in bathroom, bedroom, etc. This place has all the amenities you'd require for a comfy stay. Full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, crock pot, coffee maker, blender, hot-tub, full bathroom, laundry, deck, loft bedroom, etc. Right outside the park & within 5 minutes of 2 local stores, town parks and amenities. TV for movies, game cabinet for fun times. Hot tub was fun, but jets stopped working 2nd night. Control panel looks waterlogged, but still was warm and comfy. Be aware of possible power outages in the winter/storm season. They do have a backup electric powerpack that handled the coffee maker for us and the tree lights for a couple hours. They also have a stash of flashlights and lanterns that will tide you over until the power comes back on. It only went out for us on our last morning there. (there was a huge windstorm the night before that downed some power lines) Would be back if we stayed in the area again. read more

I stayed with my girlfriend several days ago and it was unacceptable. Like she said there was a decomposed mouse smashed flat in the door way. Do you know how long it had to be there while rotting a d no one cleans it up. They keep taking the pictures down of the cobwebs and mouse in the house, I will send them to you. I would not rent from them ever! We even left early because the room had no heat. The bathroom is right by the back door so the bathroom is freezing at all times, I only took a picture of the hall way to show where the bathroom was to the door and the light switches are very dated and so is everything else in there. They tried to make a garage into a room and the hottest room in the house, the window didn't open so please I would suggest look elsewhere. Please hit me up for the mouse pictures and cobwebs. 4.5 stars. We stayed at the Squirrel Run for the Fall season. Price was really reasonable at this time of the year. The drive is about 45 minutes to get to Paradise visitor center inside Mt Rainier NP in perfect road condition. A couple of food stores and Post Office in Ashford is about a 5-minute drive away. It wasn't clear in the descriptions that there will be any shower gels/shampoo, so I had to email and ask, which then the answer was "NO". I suggest the owners put that in or ask their patrons to bring their own! If I didn't ask I would be left with showering with nothing. However, it appeared that previous patrons may have left some shower gels and shampoo, which was kind of them. Getting here was really easy with the directions provided. We parked the car in the driveway, which I think can fit about 2 cars. The door is a passcode access which is convenient and makes check in and out a breeze. The Squirrel Run is perfect for 4 people, and no more. The bedrooms are tight and hard to bring in our luggage because space was primarily taken up by the bed. I appreciate the installed hooks around the cabin for hanging anything, really, because there was no closets or any clothes hangers. We walked around the neighborhood, and the area is really serene and much quieter than previously thought. The heater/ac works well. The bathroom is also spacious and fully functional. Wifi connection was ok while here, though the weather may impact the speed/connection as well. The kitchen has all the necessary utensils, cookware, and dishware. It is missing a dishwasher, which was different from the description. We used the laundry which was convenient to wash our dirty hiking clothes. Our favorite part was the deck/patio. It is fully covered with 2 skylights with a bbq grill and a jacuzzi. The string lights hung over the space was so cute. A dining table with 4 chairs outside, with a picnic table, several lounge chairs made this even cozier and heart-warming. The grill was fully functional, and the jacuzzi was clean and functional as well. I will consider returning to Rainier Cottages when I'm back for Mt. Rainier! read more

My wife and I stayed at the River's Edge cottage for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our getaway. The cabin was clean and comfortable and came equipped with just about anything you might need (except paper towels, napkins or tissues oddly). The view is amazing with Copper Creek and the Nisqually both running within sight as well as the mountain range. Hot tub a little ways from the porch but clean and definitely hot! In a small neighborhood but the cabin is situated in a way that you hardly notice anyone and you feel somewhat secluded. We hope to return and enjoy another stay in the near future. read more

Arrived 30min AFTER check in at the Huckleberry Cottage. Not impressed with the NON privacy close neighbors. Went to check the hot tub since this is the MAIN reason for our stay and the cover was coated with pine needles and dirt. We open the cover and there is multiple pieces of parts laying inside with dirt. We tried to get connected to the WiFi with the code they provided and were unsuccessful after multiple attempts we ended up having to leave to get cell service to notify the owner. We were unable to reach her so we notified the second number provided for emergencies. Felicia stated maybe someone got in the house after the cleaning crew was there and she would try to get ahold of the owner to notify her and have her call us back. By this time we were already heading home when she called us back. We simply requested a refund as the hot tub was clearly not cleaned, leaving us to wonder what else had not been cleaned. Plus with Felicia's comment about (maybe someone getting in the house after the cleaning crew) makes us uncomfortable and leads us to believe they don't change the key code after each occupancy. Tammi the owner said over the phone that her cleaning crew hadn't gotten to clean the tub yet and she would send someone over right now. We told her we were already on our way home and would just like a refund. She said she could give us $50.00 back. We arranged childcare and requested time off work for this stay. Our check in time was 4:00PM. We shouldn't have to wait and watch for someone to clean the cabin and fix the hot tub during our time which starts at 4PM. We paid $215.00 for privacy and relaxation and this was FAR from it! Tammi was also rude over the phone and hung up on us. Very unprofessional business owner. On our way out we stopped and spoke with a Eatonville police officer who advised us to take this matter to small claims court. 4/9/18- Editing to respond to the owners reply: #1) we did not curse or yell at Tammi or Felicia. #2) After she first offered $50 refund, my husband did say we either want a full refund or we will go court and she hung up. Again; no yelling or cursing. #3) if there was a landline, we didnt see it or try to look for it because most cabins don't have landlines nor do most houses in this century have landlines anymore anyways. Point is the WiFi wasn't working with the CODE they provided. #4) Felicia stated maybe someone was in the house AFTER the cleaning lady?!?! Again made us uncomfortable, there is NO other lock on inside except key pad! Not very safe in a sketchy neighborhood. #5) yes in this day and age it is appropriate to take pictures and videos of the products you purchase especially when there is a damage fee and the company has your credit card information! Who's to say they won't turn around and say you damaged something after you leave when you in fact didn't! That's why we video and take pictures of everything- why else would someone do that? Because we enjoy renting cabins, spending money ahead of time reserving a place that we expect to look like the pictures provided on the website only to be mislead by the Close unprivate neighbors and broken uncleaned hot tub! #6) DEEP IN THE FOREST?? Not at all! It's in a neighborhood with trees! If the cleaning lady had arrived between 11:30am (checkout time) and prior to 4pm (our check in time) and cleaned the hot tub then there would not have been that much debris on the cover! And let's say she did clean it (even though they admitted they didn't) why is your hot tub jets popping out in less than 4hrs?? #7) we have documentation of the times of our phone calls to this owner, and what she said was wrong; we arrived around 4:30pm, our first phone call after we left to get service was 4:44pm with no answer, called Felicia at 4:45pm, then Tammi got back to us at 4:54pm. #8) we did not book last minute! I have my receipt that states we booked THURSDAY! Check in was SUNDAY! If that's not enough time to clean your cabin then maybe you shouldn't be in business. #10542) A good business owner would have accepted their mistake and owned up to it instead of replying trying to defend themselves, a good business owner would have offered to refund our money for our time loss and a good business owner would have offered to make things right! I never write reviews but I had to on this one. I am happy to see great reviews for Rainier Cottages. We have enjoyed our stay and the amenities are great. The view is amazing and the cabin is cozy. Directions and instructions were easy to follow. I have to laugh at these bad reviews though. I hope people reading these disregard most of these. Most are very unnecessary: * Wifi was spotty? - Lol and....your staying in the woods. Play board games with your kids. Go outside and roast some marshmallows. Play in the river. Sit out side in the hot tub and enjoy the scenery. Sad that lives revolve around wifi. Oh and the wifi works great as I type this review. * Had to drive to town to use my phone. - there is a landline in the cottage. * No instructions on how to turn on the TV? - hmmm can't even comment on this. * Wasn't even told of there will be shampoo and they have soft scrub? - Why would you even assume they would supply your beauty supplies and even know your preference? Come on now. Your telling me you never thought of bringing your own stuff you use every day at home. * Pine needles? Please note that when you stay here you are in the middle of the woods. Please know you will see lots of pine needles, dirt and maybe some wildlife poop! * Carbon monoixide is no joke and I am happy to see that Rainier Cottages took it seriously! We stayed at the Serenity Cabin 09/11-09/12. It is this adorable little A-frame cabin just a few minutes outside of the National Park entrance. Other reviewers are correct. It's in a neighborhood so you have neighbors but it was pretty forested. I didn't feel at all like people could see me and I couldn't hear anyone outside. The notes said We wouldn't have cell service but we actually had full LTE with Verizon so never even connected to the WiFi. The cabin was clean and comfortable and I felt like there wasn't anything I was looking for that I couldn't find as far as like kitchen utensils etc. Plus little extras like the wood stove was prepped with some kindling and paper already and they had bird feeders with extra seed you could put out. I could really go on. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. I hope one day it is in the cards where I can stay here again. read more

We just got back from our new years get away to the huckelberry cabin. Best experience our family has had at a cabin yet ! This cabin had all that we needed and more, everything seemed thought out definitely had a homey feeling , everything about the cabin was just perfect , we all couldn't be happier ! i recently stayed at Rainier Cottages Vine Maple house with a friend. What a perfect cabin! The fireplace had plenty of wood and kept the cabin toasty warm. The heat vent in the bathroom and color display shower head are a very nice complement to the hot tub about ten feet away. I love the romantic lighting, privacy fence, and clean, easily accessible hot tub and surround. The extra fireplace heater in the bedroom made for a cozy ambiance on a cold night. Pros: very quaint, nice hot tub, nice fire pit, porch, private master loft bedroom. wifi when it works. nice kitchen, washer/dryer, can't get any closer to Mt. Rainier without staying in the park. Cons: poor water pressure and wifi is unreliable. couldn't contact owner because no reception without going into Elba or another town. was last night anyways, so no big deal, nice family time. Stayed three nights. It was nice to have your own place with a kitchen. The cottage was nicely put together, For example, plenty of hooks for towels and suits. Hot tub nice for 2, not more than 3. Outdoor eating area on the porch. However, wifi only worked for 2 of the 3 nights. some board games and plenty of family dvds and videos. We stayed at the Mountain Peek Cabin. This cabin has so many relaxing places to it! A sweet book reading nook or where my child napped nook. Comfy squishy couches. Upstairs loft that has a VCR player! (DVD's too but the VCR had me nostalgic) upstairs deck for chilling from the heat. Outside had many chairs and a fire pit. We never had an issue with Wifi and watched movies on the Netflix & Roku provided. The only thing I didn't like was that the kitchen had a few dirty spots when we first arrived but I can't give four stars for faulty house keeper. I cleaned what was dirty and poof it was perfect! I don't normally write reviews online, let alone a bad one. I felt I had to let others know my experience so it would not happen to them. My family and I stood at the River House cabin for 2 nights. We were on a 3 week road trip and had a truck completely packed with luggage. We arrived at the Cabin early, before check in and decided to stop by and see the location of the cabin. We noticed a car parked out front and figured we'd knock on the door and see if it would be ok for us to drop our luggage off as we were going to explore the town. The housekeeper answered the door and she said it would not be a problem for us to drop everything off. As we were taking stuff out from the truck, the homeowner appeared out of nowhere and said in a rude manner, " check-in is not until 3". We told him we already spoke to the housekeeper and she said it would be fine to drop off our luggage. The homeowner then said, ok that's fine. He & My husband then started talking about fishing, and all the great local spots to check out. He also mentioned to us the housekeeper would add chlorine to the hot tub. Everything seemed fine, so we left. When we returned at check-in time, we unpacked & got situated. My husband was out front emptying the truck. I was In the restroom minding my own business, (w the bathroom door open) and suddenly I hear the front door swing open. Naturally thinking it was my husband, to my surprise it was the housekeeper! Never knocked, just let herself in. Not even an apology after walking in on me. Later That evening, we wanted to unwind and get in the hot tub. When we opened the cover to the tub, there was this insanely overpowering smell of chlorine. Even worst, the water was this disgusting brownish yellow color!! We all looked at each other in shock and thought what the hell is this?! My children love swimming and wanted to go in,anyway. I was very hesitant at first but figured ok, why not. HUGE mistake!! The water completely ruined all of our swimwear & the chlorine was so overpowering it was even burning our eyes. We were maybe in there 15 mins at most. My husband and I then looked around for a guest book and found Tammi's book of rules. There she mentioned the water situation. Of course, after the fact we've already arrived to the cabin we find this out!! Any normal & honest human being would let there guest know about the dirty water before hand,am I right?! Nope, not Tammi. She sets you up in a trap and charges you way more than its actually worth. I guess she enjoys ripping people off. The next day, I received a email from Tammi saying she was upset with us because the housekeeper had mentioned we checked in early, etc etc. I said No, that's absolutely false and told her we ran into her husband and he said it was fine. Anyhow, the email was rude.Not welcoming in any way, shape or form. We woke up around 8am that morning and noticed the power went out. We drove out to town and the electricians mentioned to us it would take at least 5 hours for the power to go on.Let me remind you that, before arriving to the cabin we bought food to cook for breakfast before starting our day at Mount Rainier.Thankfully, my husband brought a small camping stove, we ended up using to cook with. Obviously, none of the appliances in the cabin were used that morning.We were probably better off camping. Oh, and as far as amenities go, they had SoftSoap hand soap in the shower for us to use as shower gel & shampoo?? We stay at hotels and cabins all the time, not once have I ever seen this!! A complete joke! Plus no instructions on Wifi, how to turn tv on,etc. In the evening, we spoke to locals in town and at the Copper Creek Inn and they mentioned to us that the water was not safe to drink. It was rust! Tammi swears the water is safe well water that people "flocked to in the 1900s" give me a break, lady!! Please see attached photos for proof of the water. Upon check-out, we left everything Spick n' Span. Other than the water issues, the power going out, rust water ice cube trays, rude emails, the cabin was ok. The rooms were decorated nicely. The location and view was perfect,too. I only wish our experience was much better than it was. A few days after we checked out, I sent Tammi an email saying I was alittle upset about our experience & we were asking for at least one of our nights complementary for all the inconveniences. She declined and said she would give us our deposit back and she'd "call it even". I will also attach some of the emails she sent me. You'll see just how rude and unprofessional this women is. According to her housekeeper, she mentioned to Tammi that we had more than 4 guest. Absolutely absurd!!! She & Tammi's husband clearly saw how many people there was. I never had to explain my sleeping arrangements w anyone! Just pathetic. Bottom line, don't stay here. Tammi is so disrespectful and rude. As a 5 star Yelp business owner,I go above & beyond to make my customers happy. Tammi just didn't care! read more

These Cottages were so perfect for a getaway. They were clean. They were set up nicely. They had everything you can need from cooking stuff to plates and forks. Wood for the fireplace. The hot tub was perfect. That was even clean. There was internet and Netflix to watch movies. There was hiking trails that were close. She even had a basket with dog treats and a ball and a towel for our dog's feet when we arrived. We plan to go back read more

What a wonderful cabin!!! I wonder why there has not been a review since Jan on here, but I stayed this summer 2021 in June. DISCLAIMER: I stayed during the HOTTEST days Ashford has ever seen!!! So, even though there are fans and portable fans available, we did wake up at night hot and kicking off sheets. But, this is not the cabin co fault. The cabin is absolutely adorable with excellent furnishings, spacious areas, and lofty space. I stayed at the Huckleberry. There was PLENTY of room for 6 people even though it was only 3 of us. You are not really alone in the middle of the woods, for there are neighbors nearby. One reviewer complained that you cannot close one of the main blinds in the kitchen, but I had my son go out to the road to look in during the pitch dark, and I kept all the lights on. He could not see me or into the cabin because of the thicket of the "forest" trees. The highlight was hearing little owl chirps and realizing there was a fam of owls in the tree next to us. At night we heard "HOOOOOT" so cute!!!!! Excellent kitchen, high ceilings, clean bathroom, and SAFE! And get over the "cobwebs" or "dust" complaints. Ummmmm, it is still a friggen cabin in the WOODS!!! Look at the corners of your OWN place, trust me, we all have probably more dust!!!! I would stay again :) read more

We stayed here this past weekend for my husbands birthday. The location is perfect, literally right outside of the entrance to mount rainier. We were able to make it up to paradise in less than 45 min. We stayed at the Vine Maple House, it's great that it's dog friendly! One thing to note, and it's listed on the cottage info, but we didn't see it until after the fact, the cleaning staging area is in the garage next to the cabin. My only other complaint is that the hot tub has the outline of a privacy fence but is open to the surrounding homes, the hot tub would be more comfortable with that fence completed. The cabin has a king bed which has a thick mattress pad (a little soft for me but that's just preference), the tv has a roku so you can watch Netflix, the kitchen has all the basic amenities and utensils, overall it fit exactly what we were looking for! read more

We stayed at the Vine Maple House. Cute cabin with large bedroom and comfortable king bed. Kitchen and dining room with bench was great. Really enjoyed the hot tub and was able to sit and watch deer roam close by. The Nisqually River is only 1/2 mile away, which has a gravel walkway all along the river bank. HOWEVER, the "futon" sleeper in the living room is not a queen size (it's a twin plus) and is hard as a rock! We put blanket and comforter underneath to try to make it softer to no avail. I went home with a sore back and very little sleep. The owners should invest in a high quality queen sleeper sofa that really sleeps two and is comfortable. They do make them! Also, be warned that the bedroom has two window sized openings in to the living room which gives zero privacy. If you have small children that you want to put to bed early, this is nearly impossible. I'm not sure what the openings are for, but perhaps the owners could invest in shutters to offer some privacy and noise reduction. I recommend Vine Maple for only two people. read more

The cabin was comfortable, cozy and clean - perfect for 2-3 friends or a couple. It had a Roku with Netflix, fast WiFi and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is perfect - it's a 2 minute drive from the park entrance. The hot tub was great after a long day of hiking. Checking in and out was so easy with the passcode on the door. The owner was very professional and helpful - she sent us a bunch of detailed information before our stay: directions to the cabin, things to do in the park and information about the Ashford area. Nice place, cozy and well located right at the entrance of the National Park. It offers all the essentials: a comfy bed, a nice livingroom with a fireplace, a kitchen with all appliances and the most wanted coffee machine, a bathroom with hot water after a day hiking or snowshoeing, and a hot tub (which I didn't use). It was easy to find despite there is not cellphone signal in the area, and the location is near to the river and a magnificent view of Mount Tahoma. I don't care much for Ashford, because there is relatively nothing there except for the Highlander restaurant,the grocery store and the gas station. Unless you forgot your favourite fleece jacket, so.you can buy an overpriced one at Whitakers. Anyways they can help you out with maps and directions. The little house is very appropriate for pets, be aware all the wild animals (usually about 3 pm during winter) wandering around the property, mostly deers. There is no garage, but that is not a problem for me. It has a mudroom so you can take your shoes before entering to the whole house, which you have to keep closed during winter. The fireplace is amazing... I felt guilty because I used all the wood during two nights and exhausted all the pine cones... Hope they are not charged extra. We felt very comfortable watching TV. Also, there is internet. I didn't know the password in the beginning, but all the instructions are left on top the bookshelf in the dinning area next to the kitchen, so I used a perishable ability that most humans don't have... I read it. So voila! I had internet! Great place.. lovely! read more

AMAZING! Me and my two best friends of 20+ years took a weekend getaway and found the maple Vine cabin available. It was perfect for us. Fully equipped kitchen, we just brought our food, no need to bring coffee or seasonings, it was already there! Walking inside was so welcoming and gave us a cozy feeling. Enjoyed both fire pit ( wood fully stocked the morning of our arrival, said the neighbor) and the hot tub was pre set and ready to use! We stayed two nights but I would have loved to stay longer. The neighbor was super welcoming and gave us some advise on what trails were good to hike. 5 min away from Mt. Rainier park entrance. I highly recommend this cabin to my friends and family and do plan on coming back. It was perfect for us. read more

Would never rent from Tammi again. My husband, two daughters and I stayed at Juniper Cabin for three nights. The carbon monoxide alarm went off at 5:30 am in the kitchen area. It stopped only when we had opened all the doors and windows. My 16 year-old daughter who had been sleeping on the pullout sofabed in living area next to kitchen started throwing up shortly afterwards...she also had a headache and was strangely groggy so we called the pediatrician who said she had classic symptoms of mild carbon monoxide exposure and to get her to an ER for an evaluation. We rushed back to Seattle where she was treated at ER in Ballard for mild carbon monoxide poisoning. As if this wasn't enough of a nightmare, Tammi was dismissive and incompetent in response to our VM explaining what had happened to our daughter. She emailed back the next day to say her maintenance person didn't find any leak and that none of her appliances used "odorless gas" and we would have smelled the rotten egg propane smell. Carbon monoxide is not propane and all of her gas appliances are a potential source -- they don't call it the silent killer for nothing. I am grateful for the alarm -- the ER doctor said it probably saved all of our lives. Tammi did not instill confidence that she would take this situation seriously and make sure to prevent future problems. Very scary. read more

Loved it! We stayed at the huckleberry cottage with a total of 4 adults and two kids. Plenty of room, very clean, and everything worked. The wood stove is excellent and sleeping arrangements were good. Plenty of wood provided. Hot tub was clean along with fire pit and BBQ. This cottage is in a neighborhood that does a large loop and we took family walks and were able to see a couple herds of elk . 5 miles from paradise entrance and real close to ashford general store if you need anything. My wife and I stayed at one of the cabins for our anniversary. It very cozy and comfy with beautiful scenery. The decorations in the cabin were lovely, and we were surprised at how comfy the bed was. We had a wonderful time and the recommendations made by the owner for dining and hikes were very useful. We were very happy with our stay and plan to return in the future. read more

My husband and I stayed here in December for an extended weekend. The cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. My only issue was I was not able to use the hot tub as it rained the entire weekend and there was no cover. Overall it was a nice stay! read more

Stayed in the cute little vine maple cabin this weekend for a little getaway from the city. Loved the king bed, the hot tub, the wood fire place and the fact that this cabin is dog friendly. Close to the nisqually river, we enjoyed a little walk and some gold panning. So quiet and peaceful, a great way to reconnect with mother nature. Our first day we were greeted by at least 20 deer. So incredible. I'll never forget these last two days. read more
