Plenty of street parking beside the building. They can have a long line however move pretty efficiently. I tried their strawberry cheesecake mixer- it was amazing. They have great vanilla soft serve and this was layered with strawberry and cheese cake pieces. What a cute ice cream shop! We appreciated that they had indoor and outdoor seating - and the indoor seating is full of antiques and interesting finds. Such a fun place to sit and chat. Our ice cream was excellent. My husband had a blueberry soft serve while my youngest had a strawberry shake. The blueberry ice cream is reminiscent of Kings Island - so good! The strawberry milkshake had chunks of strawberry and my son loved it, despite claiming he doesn't like strawberries. My oldest son had a scoop of mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone and the serving was generous. In my opinion though, the best thing we ordered was my Reese's Cup Flurry. It was made with perfect vanilla soft serve and it was full of candy chunks - exactly the way it should be! We landed here by accident, and boy am I glad we did! I was actually looking to check out a new biz in the area and stumbled upon this charming little Creamy Whip! Now I am a pretty harsh judge when it comes to Creamy Whips (they're kinda my thing) but this one wins the star of approval. We talked with the owner and she said this business had previously been a bakery and has been in their family since she was a little girl. Now they have combined their two passions: Baking and Ice Cream! They have a ton of different items to choose from: Macaroons, cookies, cupcakes etc. Plus the typical cream whip fare: Shakes, cones, dip tops etc. I opted for a Vanilla Cone with a Cherry Dip Top which was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. My boyfriend got a strawberry shake and it was great too. The atmosphere is funny and super old school. We ate outside and enjoyed the parlour tables. Now while the cookie dough itself was really good, very creamy, tasted like the real think, not dense or felt like something was off with the taste.. the size they give you is honestly laughable. It was $4 for the smallest one scoop I have ever seen (this didn't just reflect their cookie dough either, I saw some of their soft serve and that was just as embarrassing)! Granted the girl who waited on us seemed to give us a proper more realistic scoop at first, but whom I can assume was the owner, came over and somewhat scolded her and took away like 3/4 of the scoop she had placed in the bowl. I mean you can get HUGE amount of Graeters ice cream for that amount of money. $4!! Are you kidding me? I wish I would have taken a picture so you could see how insane this was. It's the amount of ice cream you give a 3 year old! So with that said, and the lack of amount of cookie dough you get for the pretty steep price. The fact there are now new cookie dough/ice cream parlors opening up more and more, there's no need to go back here. Honestly if Mt.Washington wants to even be able to compete they better step their portions up ALOT. read more

This spot might be my favorite thing about the neighborhood. I am definitely grateful for this seasonal business! First off, the portions are more than generous and you get a lot for your money. The prices are really reasonable, as well. There are plenty of options for creamy whip, not to mention the baked goods - though I have yet to try, they look delicious! I tend to go for their weekly flavor or their mix-in style creamy whip (they load up on the toppings too!!). However the Java whip will always have a special place in my heart (espresso and creamy whip goodness). All in all, you can't go wrong. Can we remove Thumbprint Furniture from the title of this venue? It hasn't been a furniture store for at least the last two years I've walked this neighborhood and purposely ended at the creamy whip for a treat! Unlike walk-up creamy whips in the area, this one is more like an old time ice cream parlor where you can walk in, make your selection, browse the counter for bakery treats, take in the vintage details and then head outside to enjoy your cone on the sidewalk table and chairs. Recently, where the Mt. Washington Bakery used to be located, a place called Thumbprint Furniture opened up. Then at the beginning of the month I noticed another sign above the location. Now the furniture store has a soft serve parlor in the front room and they've dubbed themselves the Mt. Washington Creamy Whip. The soft serve is decent. They don't have anything fancy just normal chocolate and vanilla flavors. If you wander back through the door you will be amazed at what you will find. The furniture, gadgets, and knick knacks in the back of the store are so cool! There were so many retro and art deco dining room tables and chairs that I just wanted to buy up! They have several really old gas stoves. The awesome ones with the special compartments for casseroles and broilers. There are also old memorabilia, posters, shelving, and various furniture pieces. Everything is old, but is in a pristine vintage condition. Most of the furniture is pretty pricey. It was cool to see the back where the bakery used to make their donuts everyday! read more
