I needed a 240v outlet installed in my garage. Also wanted 4 additional exterior outlets, 2 on my house and 2 along my fence line. I called multiple electricians to get as many bids as I could. I had a few really high bids, I had a few electricians who didn't even come out to bid they wanted me to take pictures for them. I also had one who ghosted me twice. MTE Electric was my very last bid and I have to say the best was saved for last. Mike was the most knowledgeable out of the bunch. Mike did a great job explaining different options on the outcome of the exterior outlets. He gave me two separate estimates. Speaking of estimates his estimate was the most professional estimate I have ever seen from any contractor. He emailed my estimate and it was detailed out from labor, individual parts needed all the way down to the screws. His estimate was not the cheapest but it was very competitive. I am confident we hired the most knowledgeable, qualified electrician. Mike did a great job with the install, everything came out clean and professional looking. I called and MTE electric for an appointment on 1/17/2024. On 1/23/2024 Mike came out to see what I needed. It was for two exterior electrical outlets. I have since called them 5 times. Twice I left a message and only once received a call back. The other two times I spoke with Rafina whom said she would get back to me. The other time Mike answered and said he would get me a quote. Here we are today March 8, 2024. Still no quote and still no work done. I would not recommend them at all. They were a referral to me from someone whom has used them quite a few times. I called mte and left a message I got a call back later on. I was told they would not even be able to come out and give me an estimate without an $85 service charge and $85 an hour after that. I let him know somebody already came out to tell me what was wrong with the problem and I could even send him the report but that was not sufficient . This did not fit my situation at all seeing as I need to build the invoice out to a third party. If you need simple home electric I guess they can do it? but if you need any larger more complex work you might want to go elsewhere. read more

Mike did some work for us and we decided we wanted undercounted lights in our kitchen. The day that was scheduled for installation, MTE never showed up. We did get him on the phone and he said the parts were not available to do the job. First. It's bad business not to communicate to customers that you CAN'T do the work. (He said he did call, but we have no record of a Call) Second. It's poor planning to wait until the day the work is scheduled to check if the parts are available. Third. No alternatives were suggested Fourth. If MTE wanted to do the job it was no way to do business. Fifth. I can not recommend MTE for electrical work. The lack of follow through and the fact that WE arranged our day to have the work do is not acceptable. Understand...if you do hire MTE it's a hit or miss if they will show up!!!!! read more

We were experiencing an issue with our circuit breaker panel. A fuse eventually blew out so I called upon Mike for his services because of his fantastic Yelp reviews. Mike's wife was so polite when she answered the phone, she was quick to schedule us in for the same day that we called. Mike showed up and was very friendly and very thorough with his inspection. He replaced the blown fuse and inspected the rest of the circuit panel to make sure everything was working properly. Last minute I realized I wanted to replace the flood light by my back door, I already purchased one and it was sitting in my garage. Mike installed it for $15 bucks. All together with the service call, replacing the blown fuse and installation of the new flood light we were charged $115, not a bad deal at all. Mike has been professional, prompt, and courteous both time I've gone with his company for home repairs. I own a house in Apple Valley but rent it out currently, and will be keeping Mike on as my go-to electrician. It seems like some of the electricians/handymans in the area, particularly those who I've found on Craigslist, are flakey and do sub-par work so it's nice to deal with a professional who has reasonable rates as well. "From Great to mediocre service" "Mike" came out to check wiring for one of our ceiling fans today. A slight delay in calling back when given a call-back time, but he got the job done. Personable, professional and clean. Will need a new ceiling fan in another location soon, and we will definitely give him a call! Update.... After all was said and done, one ceiling fan was repaired and a new ceiling fan was installed and balanced. Mike really knows his stuff and charges very reasonable prices! And....he's not a flake like MANY contractors in the area! He calls back if you leave a message, or he actually answers his phone! Wow! What a concept!! I recently got an electric vehicle, but I hadn't prepared a charging solution at home. I was limping along charging with my 120V extension cord which only got a stable 108V at 9A (the Romex was probably too thin), only replenishing 2 miles of range per hour. It took 10 hours to replenish a round trip to Costco! I needed some real power in the garage BADLY. So I called Mike at MTE Electric, and he was able to meet with me a few days later, and he installed last Wednesday. He did a very professional installation in short order. Now I can replenish 29 miles of range per hour instead of 2 (NEMA 14-50 240V 50A, holding a steady 230-236V at 40A). So why only 4 stars? His ballpark estimate was GREAT, but his final price was exactly 75% higher, not so great. In his defense he did spend a lot of time picking up nonstandard supplies.
