I cannot believe how quickly Danny responded to my telephone request seeking outside light installation onto each side of my garage. He initially noticed after taking the old lighting fixtures off that the job couldn't be completed due to a lack of a metal protective box that was missing. Danny told me that he couldn't just simply replace it because as it was, it was not in compliance with code. I thought I needed to reschedule Danny and his crew since I didn't have anything to place as a buffer between my lighting fixture and the house. Danny and his partners decided to do a quick run to Walmart to get the items that I didn't even know I needed. Once they returned, they quickly and professionally got the job done to my absolute satisfaction!!! Yes they had to cut out a small rectangular opening through the exterior but it was to fit the metal box! They caulked it and it is beautiful and I'm glad that they were there for me. Upon leaving, Danny reminded me that his work is guaranteed for a year and for that I'm very well pleased. No stars !! Do not hire these people ! I hired danny to just put up baseboards for three of my rooms . Do not hire . He asked for more than half down before even doing the work. He quoted me an amount and at the end of this small project it kept changing . He promised receipts and that he would be done in one day . Never got receipts or the contract and the quote kept going up . First off he didn't show the first day of the actual job . He called off . He promised he had 5 guys under him to complete this in the time he quoted . Then the day he actually came he was late 1 hr . He didn't bring anyone else with him but one othh other guy ..He spent the whole day on the job just supervising his one employee while the other guy did all the work . At the end of the day he tells me he would have to come back to finish after promising it would be done . Later that day I call him to tell him I'm not happy with the work they did and I want my deposit back . He lies and never gives money back . Was told to Call his boss who I later find out its his wife and she tells me tough luck that job is complete and there not coming back .. He left the house dirty coke cans and slurpees trash everywhere . Plus he thought he was funny lying about hauling all the old baseboards away . He through them on the side of my house . I just found them laying there ... In 7 hrs no work was actually fully completed baseboards missing in all rooms not painted ! Walls with holes from pulling the original baseboards off . So do not hire !! I just filed a law suit in small claims so that this will not happen again to anyone else . He will be getting a summons and hopefully learn that he can't do this to trusting people . Hope he will not be able to work again knowing he does this to his clients . Good news I found a different handyman one who was trustworthy and honest and completed the work same day and with better quality ! DANIEL will not show up on time, he will reschedule days, may not show up and when you call to see why he offers to come to "show face", he'll leave unfinished work and cause damages to your home. Daniel is very unprofessional and sloppy. He will not give you a proper receipt and you have to ask several times before he text you a very questionable hand written receipt which I have contacted the tax board about, BBB and an attorney to see what recourse we have. Danny was supposed to be here yesterday at 8 a.m. then I text him and ask him what time he was supposed to be here he tells me 2 in the afternoon and he was going to bring 4 guys then he calls me at 2:30 and says well he's finishing up a job that you'll be here when he gets done. Danny shows up at 3:30 on Tuesday April 21st by his self. Then Danny shows up on Wednesday April 22nd he's supposed to be here at 8 a.m. he shows up at 9 a.m. with two guys and he said he was going to have four he comes over and he drops off to guys then he said the other guys on his way a third guy does show up a little while later. In the meantime the other two Guy starts doing the shed and making sure all the parts is there well Danny takes off then Danny comes back he stands by the garage in the shade and he says what you guys want for lunch oh I'm sorry he does take and uses the blower and blows off the cement where the shed is going to go. but I do want to thank you for cleaning up my yard and stacking everything against the fence so they spent 4 hours here at the max Danny maybe spent an hour and a half it was the kids that were here so Danny calls me and says this is going to take more time he's not even here he's in Hesperia and tells me he's going to need more money it's going to cost more money so at that point my husband called Danny and told him to get back here and we let him go. This made for a great result, and there was no charge for coming back and making things right. I believe that their prices are competitive and would rehire them. Called and spoke to a guy, who didn't even give his name. Stated he'd be available to come out for a house call and check out a possible electrical issue, and asked that I text him my address. I text him my address and he gives me an ETA, then let's me knows it's $96.50 an hour with a 2 hour minimum, which wasn't a problem. After letting me know his rate I ask if he takes card, he states yes & that a $96.50 deposit is needed if I'll be paying with card, so I ask if he takes zelle instead to which he states he does and sends the name of a female and a different number. So I stated I'd just pay with zelle instead, which was obviously in an effort to avoid paying the deposit without him actually being here in person. With everything going on nowadays, I don't feel comfortable paying for services up front without a safety net, just in case I get screwed over and scammed. So, I didn't send the deposit through zelle, and almost an hour later he texts me letting me know that he never received the payment through zelle and asked if I still needed the service. I told him that he had stated that he needed the deposit if I paid with card, and that I didn't feel comfortable sending payment without him being present especially since it's instant with zelle. He then claims that he has to take payment prior to arrival and that "it's their policy". Didn't make any sense and he was now contradicting himself, which was a big red flag for me. I then asked if he took paypal, and that I didn't mind sending the deposit through PayPal if that's the case, and that I don't feel comfortable sending payment in another form. PayPal offers the option to pay for services, so if anything were to go south I can easily file a claim and try to get my money back if he failed to show up after paying the deposit. He then responded back stating that he didn't have PayPal. Mind you this was all through text, so I go ahead and try calling him, in an effort to get things situated, and he forwards my calls & I never heard back from him. Super sketchy, and I've never had a contractor of any trade request a deposit before even showing up to diagnose anything. read more

Hired Danny from 5 Star to install a TV wall mount with floating shelf after reading positive reviews on Yelp. My experience was not good at all. I paid him ahead of time for the shelf and deposit for appt (first mistake). He came to do the job and did not have his drill and screwdriver. He had to borrow from another person doing work at my house . He cussed throughout the install loud enough for us to hear in the next room. When he was finished I questioned him about the work as it did not look complete, there was 3 boxes in the Wall left without covers leaving the inside of the wall exposed. He said that was normal. I told him I was not happy with the work but I paid him anyway. He said he would come back to add some plates . That same day after he left I discovered the floating shelf was not installed securely. I called to tell him, he yelled at me and accused me of doing something to make that happen. He said he would give me back my money and just charge for parts as he believed I would not be happy with anything. He then changed his mind and said he would correct the problems. He made appointments and then cancelled because he said the part had not arrived . The problems still exist, he still has not come back. This started before Thanksgiving , it is now after New Year. I paid him over $400.00. Please save yourself the headaches and avoid this company. I have never been treated so rudely or had such horrible service in my life and I am old. read more

I used this company through Home Advisor. The owner, Dani is a smooth talker, who will promise to give you an invoice and receipts for service rendered & materials bought & will never comply. He charges $86.50 an hour, he expects to be paid up front & includes travel time in his 8 hr. Work. He never works the 8 hrs but expects to be paid for them. The work he completed was ok for a non licensed company, but since he doesn't have anything to loose, he will lie his way through the job. I initially called Danny and he offered to come the next day to give me an accurate on the spot quote on installing (2) outdoor lantern lights and (2) Ring floodlights. His prices were very reasonable and he explained to me what the work would actually entail. He also provided me with recommendations from his personal experience that I had not originally thought of, but that made sense. The work was very clean and nothing was left exposed or half-assed. With Danny's recommendation, I didn't install one of the additional Ring floodlights because it probably would have required it to be moved in the future. I appreciate Danny's recommendation as it saved me money, yet costed him. Danny was an honest broker with me and I appreciate his honesty especially since I didn't know him very well. Danny even called me that same night to ensure the lights and the ring worked properly. I will be using Danny and 5 Star Home Services in the future to eventually put up that additional Ring floodlight, but also for any other electrical jobs I need. These guys are flat out amazing. They took COVID precautions by wearing masks, they were on time, they were reliable and most of all, they did a awesome job with the install. They mounted my flat screen TV, installed a ceiling fan, 2 pendant lights and a chandelier. All installs were right on the money. I couldn't say enough good things. They flat do everything. The bonus at the end was they cleaned up everything including vaccuming, wiping down areas and even disposed of the boxes of the things they installed. I hired them to pick up a TV STAND/Electric Fireplace at HomeDepot , deliver it, assemble it, Empty the old one , hook all of the components up and help me rearrange the furniture to accommodate the new pieces. Because of their ratings, we hired this company to replace all of the electric sockets as well as the light switches as well as the electrical box in an older manufactured home. Stupid us should have also had a few other bids as well. This company is not even worth the one star. We gave him a down payment & he was to start the following Monday. No show (that should have been the overall warning on the lack of integrity of the owner, Dan). We had to call him to find out where he was. He finally called us back. He was sick. He showed up a few days later did part of the job & requested more money because of a minor issue. Stupid us paid him in full plus all of the extra charges (we overpaid him way over $500). He would tell us he would be here on a certain day, no show. My daughter, my husband & I were continually calling & texting him. He would show up for a few hours at a time & the job not completed. We also paid for a box of 10 electrical sockets as well as 10 covers in which should have been included in the original charge. During Thanksgiving weekend we had electrical outages in the electrical he supposedly repaiHe was supposed to be here 2 weeks ago to finish up. No show. We have a hole in one wall that he made (not repaired), no cover for a 6 socket he made out of a 2 socket (we did not ask for that) & the frame around the electrical box. Dan is unreliable, will overcharge you & never keeps his word. Within 5 minutes of the above review, Dan called my daughter then my husband stating that he would be here today, 12-11-19 at 8:00 am. It's now pas10:00 Like always no show, no call. This is not how a company is ran. No integrity, overcharged & takes advantage of their customer. As of June 2020 the work is still incomplete & he owes us over $1000.00 worth of work. Looks like small claims court & Better Business Bureau. Asked what the issue was and he just so happened to be in the area doing work on another house. He was here in less than 5 min.
