In the old days, I would run down to Lowe's and pick up a thermocouple and install it myself but I was brought up to speed by Helping Hand when they informed me that my water heater model required a different kind of part, a "thermopile" that must be ordered out of state. After waiting two days, the part came in, Ralph and Rita came out and.....the part was still unable to resolve the issue due to a low voltage reading. This meant that I would have to keep ordering other associated parts until the problem would be resolved. Ralph also discovered a separated baffle which should have been attached at the top of the tank, resting at the bottom of the tank, with no way to reattach it, which really was "baffling". He kindly suggested the possibility of having an entirely new tank installed, one where if parts were to fail, he would have access to replacing them locally. As it was suggested, so it was accomplished. They were kind enough to go out and obtain a new water heater and accessories that same day, diligently working into the evening after a long arduous day from other jobs prior to mine, until the install was fully finished. Once again, it was a friendly and professional experience with efficient, thorough and desired results from start to finish.

I was so impressed with the company and crew that I will only use them going forward. Edwin was the tech this time and he pointed out a few things the previous firm's tech never mentioned. The duct work was burnt as a result of it leaning against the exhaust. Edwin separated the duct from the exhaust, determined only the outer wrap was damaged and wrapped that section in fire resistant tape. The penetration for power into the unit was not properly sealed and he corrected that. There was no surge protector on the unit, I had him install one. Finally, there was no secondary condensate pan installed. I asked Edwin if he could install one, he indicated he could but it wouldn't be effective, the secondary pan is supposed to be installed during installation. I appreciated his honesty as he could have easily installed a pan under the unit that wouldn't have been effective. My wife and I have allergies and I asked Edwin if he was familiar with ionizing the air to eliminate dust. He was knowledgeable, we discussed options and I had one installed. It's been two days and I can tell the difference. I work from home, sneeze several times a day and just realized I haven't sneezed in two days since the install.
