I would love to rate this provider higher but unfortunately I just can't. I paid $2,000 and after three visits I still have to hire another vendor to retouch and undo what John did to my home. John worked on my job over 26 hours and it still is neither completed nor at the caliber one would expect for $2,000! The Job: I requested weatherstripping and paint on two exterior doors. I selected John because he seemed friendly and kind in his bid. In person, he was indeed friendly and kind, even eager to please. Unfortunately John doesn't possess the skill set to do this job well. He lacks any sense of time management and is obviously not a painter. Plus, he has terrible choice in assistants. The Assistant: A creepy man in a cowboy hat, constantly attempting to hug me full front and also side arm. He landed a few kisses on my head and face. He told me over and over that he loved me and he tried to get me to write down his phone number to call him personally. "Don't tell the boss he doesn't like it when I do this." No kidding! I felt UNSAFE in my own home. I consider this behavior harassment and I spoke to John about it. The assistant wasn't present at the subsequent visits. Thank you, John. Communication: John was over 2 1-2 hours late for two of our three meetings. Read that again. 2.5 hours late twice, texting me at the time he was supposed to show up. For our third meeting I had to coax him into coming at our agreed upon time. He contacted me to say he'd be late and I convinced him that he needed to show up at our agreed time. Furthermore, John told me the work would take an hour, two at the most. At the first visit, the job took 8 hours for two men to do. The work was very unsatisfactory, so John came back a second time. He said it would take at the most 2 hours. It was an 8 1/2 hour day and the work was not satisfactory when he left my house. On the third and final day John said it should take an hour, two at the most. We know what that means ... ELEVEN hours later my Business Manager sent John home. Conclusion: If John couldn't get a simple paint job right in 26 hours, he never will. The most disturbing part of all was that he couldn't see or identify the errors. We kept asking him, "what do you think needs to be corrected," and he couldn't tell us more than the areas I'd already pointed out. I'll share some photos. Can you see what went wrong? If I could give John 10 stars I would! John was very helpful & such a fast responder. He was able to come within 1 hour of contacting him. Extremely professional & great customer service. He helped me replace 2 GFCI units & also found some wiring was installed incorrectly to begin with. I am happy and blessed that he is an honest person. John was able to show up on the same late afternoon of the day I requested his service which I hadn't submitted until 1pm. I requested a ceiling fan replacement in the dining room. I ran out to Home Depot to pick the one I wanted and brought it back home. He arrived about four hours later. The original ceiling fan/light-fixture had been wired in such a way that the kitchen light had to stay on whenever the fan part of the unit was turned on. John carefully tested and reworked the wiring so that the wall switch that ran both, was now dedicated to the kitchen light only as it probably should have always been. The entire new ceiling fan/light fixture is now wired with its own dedicated wall switch which previously controlled only the ceiling fan lights. John was able to accomplish both the rewiring and installation on the same visit, leaving the finished work very neatly done. He was also very caring and diligent to explain each feature, e. g., fan reverse function and its purpose for existing. We had John come out back in 2023 after purchasing 2 Teslas. He stated he had installed Tesla chargers before so we trusted and took his word. He installed a charger and what we thought was a great job, turned out to be a complete waste of money. Our Tesla chargers kept overheating thinking maybe it's one plug that's faulty, nope. It was the wiring that John did. We didn't want to bother with John anymore, so we went straight to a Tesla certified electrician. Turns out, the product he used wasn't even "Tesla certified, approved." He used some crap and even left the red wiring out (not tucked in completely) lesson learned, go straight to a Tesla certified professional. Don't waste your time or money. read more

This guy is an awful contractor! I have no idea why he has any 5 star reviews. He works super slow, is generally late, and never has materials. He also tries to find ways to charge more after he has given you a quote. In a full house remodel he was the only weak link for the entire project. He showed up exactly when he said he would (and even gave me a ten minute heads up text that he was on his way), and knocked the repair out in about 30 minutes. Turned out the faulty component was the switch and not the actual ceiling fan. If he was not honest he coulda upsold work but he didn't. Much appreciate that in contractors. We are very happy with the service we received from Light Emitting. He came out and gave us a free estimate and started the work as soon as possible. Our patio cover lights and fans had stopped working. He repaired the lights and fans. Unfortunately, the people that put in the lights and fans originally, took shortcuts that were unsafe.
