So I wanted a local electrician to come out to figure it out and fix. I wanted an actual local electrician not some company 2 hours away that pops up at the top of the list just because they want to start providing "service" in the area. (Found that out when trying to find a "local" deck builder a few years ago via Yelp). Anyhow, I called Ed, explained the problem, he had me check a few things, and pretty much identified the problem over the phone. He said he was on another job at the moment and would get back to me later in the day. Unlike many of the other services I've reached out to on Yelp lately, he actually followed through and came by late afternoon. Within about 10 to 15 minutes he found a short in an outlet and fixed the problem. I will not hesitate to contact Ed again for all my electrical needs! Now if I could only find a local plumber of the same ilk...

I just finished texting with Steve before posting this review online. Steve refuses to acknowledge…read moreany wrong doing and refuses to settle with me directly, or through BBB and CAC who both have copies of my complaint. I paid Soby over $15,000 to wire a new construction house for me in West Yarmouth, the COO was issued in September of 2012. I rented out the house to Dawn D and her family. Immediately was getting complaints the smoke alarms were constantly chirping. I told Steve what was going and on no response. On 12/24/12 the house went into full alarm, there was fire, the house was evacuated and the Fire Department was called. It was a false alarm. We replaced the batteries. September of 2013 Lanna H and her family moved into the house and said the alarms keep chirping. we replaced the batteries a second time. Same problem, Soby was notified and he claims to have replaced all smoke detectors. September of 2015 Elizabeth moves into the house and she notices the chirping of the detectors, she calls a friend who is a licensed electrician in NH and MA, and he finds a detector in the garage was cross wired and burned out completely causing the chirping sound, he had to replace 8 smoke detectors and 1 carbon monoxide detector. He charges me $306.00 for the repair, and there no longer is any chirping sound. I asked Steve to reimburse me and he refuses, he says I am trying to extort money from he. I ask the CAC and the BBB to mediate before we go to Court. Steve claims no wrong doing and we will have to settle in Court. Since Soby continues to accuse me of extortion ( really ? ) and lawsuits, I will add the final statement. This is the information that was given to me by 3 different tenants in the same house. The problem never ceased until electrician Ryan S resolved it. You can threaten to sue me all you want Steve, I just thought you would be thankful that we resolved the situation so cheaply, this could have ended much worse for all of us. You do not seem to understand that. And for a guy who was paid over $15,000 and did not provide a single light bulb or temp power, IM not surprised.

Wish there was a "zero stars" option…read more Terrible customer service. Rude & abusive staff from technicians to head of finance. I just got off the phone w/ that guy. They sent me a bill "120 days past due" for a preventative maintence contract I never established. His explanation was that the contract is w/ the address... not the owner...? How does an address start a contract.. & how, then, was the bill/acct in my name, if the contract was with the previous owner? He spoke over me the entire conversation. Could not get one full sentence out... then had the audacity, after I finally got a few words out to say ".. well, if you had just said that in the beginning..." Very rude, ignorant man. Previous incidents had left me frustrated, but I was a renter at the time & had no control over the choice of service provider. One tech showed up 2 hours AFTER the four hour window I had been given for the appt & then became verbally abusive with me bc I said it was too late & I was on my way out the door. I called the office & didn't even lodge any kind of complaint, just asked that that particular tech not be assigned to my address again. The woman said she would make a note on the acct. He was sent again, the following week. Laughed at me, when I expressed surprise he was there. When I called the office, the woman denied that anyone there would agree to such a note & didn't care about the poor treatment. Simply said techs are assigned according to the job & availability, period. Another tech appeared to have a psychotic break in my basement during a simple preventative maintence call (ordered by the previous owner). He was down there banging & clanging things, LOUDLY swearing & yelling at himself & the heating unit. I had told him on the way in that there was a 3rd shift worker sleeping in the house & asked him, to the best of his ability, to keep noise to a minimum. It sounded like he was fighting w/ someone & throwing things. I went down to inquire & he was spiraling out, literally tantruming. Said he broke a part & he'd have to come back. When he did, the same behavior continued. I was so concerned, I haven't allowed anyone from their company in my home since... & certainly never will again. When I've shared this w/ other community members, they say things like, "Yeah, they've really gone down hill." I've had dealings w/ them for over 15 years. I've never seen anything BUT poor service & performance... & deplorable customer relations across the board.

After a week or two a person named "Brandon" shows up. Brandon does terrible work, poor quality. He doesn't care about doing a good job. He doesn't fix mistakes. I have shower doors that don't hang straight. He came by to "fix" them. Now I still have crooked doors that don't glide smoothly; he made a new problem! AND now he blames EF Winslow fir buying poor quality doors. So do not use either companies

The "warm" light from the bulbs I had bought on line was too harsh, even when dimmed. Walter found and sold me the perfect bulbs. "How much do I owe you?" I asked. Two bulbs plus tax = $6.38. Done! I provide the sales rep with the other heating specifics of a competitive quote (without the price) I had already received. It seems that the company did not want to be competitive. The net result is I went elsewhere to get better service at a reasonable price. I wonder how they would be on providing service for regular maintenance and also in case of an emergency call.
