Changed review. They called and apologized. Sent someone out to correct the issue. Said it was their fault because they were so busy. Maybe they need something in place to insure things like this don't happen but we were in the middle of a bad storm. So in the end the made good. First off the person who came was very friendly and professionally. Was done with the job but the he said the boss wanted more testing done even though he knew what was wrong. That cost me more money. Got the bill and nothing was itemized. I was a little out off buy that but let it go. Then the next day they send a different person without the part and wanted me to pay for the job like it was new. He looked at the part and went off t get it. I canceled service. The right way to do this is the person who first came should have ordered the part and whoever was going to finish should have picked up the part so u pay for the install not for someone to start the job from scratch. read more

We called JSP for help with repairing/replacing inoperable shutoff valves feeding our bathroom sink. In addition, we discovered the existing faucet set was badly clogged with calcium sediment, so we asked them to provide and install a new basic faucet set. We wound up paying $885.00 for 2 1/2 hours labor time and materials consisting of a basic Kohler faucet set and two new shutoff valves. We repeatedly asked for an itemized breakdown of their bill showing actual labor time and materials cost, which they repeatedly failed to provide. We got a bill showing only the final labor cost (without actual labor time divulged), and final materials cost (without showing costs for valves, tubing and the faucet set). Also, the new faucet set comes with a new drain stopper plug which they failed to install. Instead, and for reasons unknown, they re-used our old stopper which is not connected to the new lever mechanism. We called repeatedly asking them to come back and install the stopper provided with the new faucet, which they failed to do. One star for JSP's poor business practice and job performance. read more

JSP Bait and Switch-Then no refund Be careful here. JSP came, inspected a diagnosed my AC problem (for a fee). Then JSP quoted a price and took a deposit for parts and labor. I was told that the parts were refundable. Three days later a sales guy came and claimed it would cost more. Not $2200 but over $9000! (I check a whole new unit would cost only $4500). I told them; if you can not fix as quoted, I will go elsewhere. I asked for a refund. No refund came and no reply to 4 emails.. I had the unit fixed for $1400 parts included. The engineer was a nice guy but I suspect there is a culture of squeezing the customer. I asked the credit card company to reverse the charges. Shame on them. read more

old faucet and piping began leaking. while not a hard job for a younger person, At 74, I called JSP to make an appointment for the following morning. the Plumber was at the house 30 minutes early. Replaced the faucet, installed new flex lines, checked and rechecked that the job was done. All in an hour and a half. And, at a reasonable rate. I will continue to use JSP Pluming and heating whenever plumbing work is needed. read more

JSP completed a big job updating a stack at my multi family. The office was great with communication and scheduling. Phil did the work with his partner and I couldn't believe they got it all done it two days. The work was of high quality and even though the job had to be messy the house was left clean. Phil sent a few texts with updates, took time to explain the process and was considerate of the tenants. Not a great experience. I had new shower fixtures (that I purchased) installed in my upstairs shower. Technician show up unprepared without the stock needed to complete the job. He said he was told he was replacing just a shower head , also he said he was not told about a pipe that I wanted him to check out in the basement. A lack of communication in that office. I was told that the $185 service called fee would go toward the job if I were to have it completed but I don't believe it did. Job took much longer than expected and cost much more than expected. Nearly $1000 to install new shower fixtures and replace a 2 to 3 foot piece of pipe. The pipes/works behind the shower in the wall (which was easily accessible) need changing for the new fixtures but I was still unpleasantly surprised at the cost of the job. JSP will NOT be coming back my house. read more

I called on a Tuesday morning with a water flow issue at my elderly father's home, my dad happened to be out of the house on that day, which was ideal since he would be resistant to having a plumber come in. Nikki answered the phone and understood that I would need service on the same day, and was able to reroute Phil the plumber to the house within an hour. Phil was able to fix the problem in a very short period of time at a very reasonable price. The service I received from both Nikki and Phil was exemplary, and I would highly recommend this service to anyone interested in hiring a plumber. l had this company due a routine maintenance on my furnave. They unplugged my freezer to use the outlet, and did not plug it back in. the next day I went went on vacation. when I returned my frozen food was ruined. I called and explained the situation. the response was we didn't do it! Beware! The true measure of any work is the response when there is a problem, and this company did not measure up. use this review as a cautionary note! read more

I had JSP to a couple of jobs for me but they are scammers. A couple of years ago they quoted me a good price for a Mitsubishi mini-split. They did a great job installing it and the price was fair. However, I learned that this particular mini-split had a wi-fi accessory which they never told me about and only cost $100 and it just plugs into the unit. But you need to take the cover off. I couldn't figure out how to do it. I called JSP just to ask if I was missing a screw. I was told that it wasn't a big deal and tech the following day at the end of the day could drop by and help me. Great... but then that day I got a call from them saying the tech couldn't make it. I told them, it was not an emergency and they can come whenever they can. Two weeks later they came... but charged me $250 for a 10 minute job. FINE. Then several months ago we had to change our hot-water heater and wanted to go with a tank-less on-demand water heater. They quoted me $11,500. I told them that was insane considering the unit itself only cost $1900 and would take 2 guys about 4 hours to install. They drop their price down to $8500. Needless to say I didn't go with them and paid another company $4000 for a complete system. And now recently I had JSP come to do an annual checkup of our heatpump/AC unit. We hadn't had that system on in a few weeks and when the tech arrived, the outside condenser wouldn't start. He put a meter on it and sure enough the capacitor was bad. I told him that I could change it myself... but he went through hoops saying ... oh, it doesn't look right and this and that all the while telling him I could and have changed capacitors myself and they only cost $15... He said it not a big deal and this and that but was going to save me money by giving me the capacitor for free... but charged $200 for the 5 minutes it really took to determine the capacitor was bad. That was just a blatant scam! I can't go back to using them anymore because I'm tired of them constantly ripping me off. I need another go-to HVAC company. read more

Not a good experience. I had them come over to do an annual cleaning on my condensing boiler. In my experience, that's typically a $125-150 job. The guy (not Jeff Parr, the owner/boss, but rather his brother-in-law or some such thing) came over. Nice guy but obviously frazzled. He received multiple calls from the boss while he was working, and in fact had to step out to deliver something to Mr. Parr. The boiler was cleaned, as per normal. Completely routine and no parts were renewed. Took just a very short time once he got down to it. The guy hands me the bill. $395!! I have no idea what they charge per hour -- nor what hourly rate multiplies out to $395 -- but that was insane. I said, "no way!" He called his boss and talked in hushed tones for an eternity. I said, "Listen, I have to get to work; I'll pay $225, max. You spent half the time answering calls from and leaving to deliver stuff to your boss." The guy got a bit panicky and called the boss _again_ and again spoke in hushed tones. He said, "we'll settle for that but my boss says to inform you that we will never work with you as a customer again." I tried to call the Jeff, the boss (774-319-7423) but he wouldn't pick up. I left on his voicemail that they had erroneously charged for the guy's time delivering stuff. He wouldn't return my call despite three voice mails. I would avoid these clowns like the plague. This business owner acts like a cross between a little girl and a scam artist and hardly as a pro. There are a lot of professional, honest, hardworking plumbers/heating specialists around and you'd do better by far to find one of them. read more
