Mohammed Khan came to my home to set up my somewhat complex stereo and speaker system with many…read moredifferent and diverse components. After spending almost 3 hours unsuccessfully trying to connect various components and speakers and screwing up the soundbar connected to my smart TV, Mohammed left with a promise to return the next day to fix the problems he had caused and complete the job. That was more than a week ago. Since then he has completely failed to respond to any of my emails, text messages or voicemails. Fortunately, I was able to hire another company, Aura Smart Spaces, to fix the mess that Mr. Khan had created and left me with. They were able to straighten out all of the problems he caused and properly connect all of my components in about 2 hours and for a much more reasonable price. Because of his incompetence and his complete ghosting of me when I tried to get him to complete the job as promised, I would never hire or recommend Khan Design to anyone.

I joined YELP just to leave this review. Angel & the guys @ SD&I are the best -- responsive,…read moreinformed, capable, responsible, and fair. Working with Angel and the crew was a fantastic experience. Completely exceeded my expectations. I am the guy who small businesses like SD&I dread. I research online reviews and try to test product to the point I become paralyzed with indecision. I talk myself into and out of multiple different options and designs. Throughout my process, Angel was patient with me, appropriately consultative, and helped me get to the outcome he knew I wanted even before I could see it. When my wife and I decided to finish our basement, we had an opportunity to wire the basement and main floor of our house with a clean and integrated look. As much as possible, we wanted all wires hidden behind walls and clunky equipment concealed. For the living room Angel recommended a 2.1 system with capability to drive the subtle and nuanced sound from a turntable as well as the booming explosions from a 4K action flick. In the basement, we went with a 5.1 system that also balanced musicality with the power for a dramatic viewing experience. As required, the wiring was concealed and tucked away for a supremely clean and tight appearance. Throughout the design, product selection, and installation process, Angel was there to guide things along. He consulted, recommended, and sold me various pieces, but integrated existing product I had on hand as well as the Anthem MRX 520 receiver I insisted upon getting brand new for the living room. Attention to detail was exceptional -- although my existing speakers required bi-wired connections, the new speakers I purchased did not, and Angel and his crew nailed the installation perfectly. Attention to detail was also reflected in the recommendations for speaker cable featuring great access and prices to very nice Audioquest speaker and HDMI cables. I'm so glad he convinced me to go with the JL Audio Gotham Subwoofer -- I knew it would shake the house during movies, but I didn't realize it had the subtlety to enhance a John Coltraine's, A Love Supreme on vinyl. Testing out the final product was the best part of the process. Angel and his crew spent a while with me dialing in the room correction software and receiver adjustment process. My musical taste is a bit eccentric and I think the guys from SD&I were a bit underwhelmed with the initial test tracks I selected. When I finally played Keep Your Name by Dirty Projectors, the house came down... This review is way overdue, but Angel, his wife, and the crew at SD&I deserve it. Whether you're completely new to the world of AV and just want a proper hookup for a new TV & speakers/soundbar or you're a moderate hobbyist like me, and want to geek out over sound or picture, Angel and SD&I will have you covered. I happenstance stumbled upon his yelp page which was buried 5 pages deep because most other installers were flaking out on me and am glad I did!! For Joe this is not just a business but also a passion. He literally can talk about the advancements in Audio/Video and home theater all day long which he did with me even though it was nearly 7pm on a Monday night. The thing that I was most impressed with was the fact that he is a perfectionist and if something didn't look or sound right to him he would make sure it did. He has an eye and ear that is more fine tuned for this than we consumers do and he'll let you know it if it isn't right even though we may think it is. He even went as far as calibrating the projector to THX certs on his Ipad for free!! He charged me for 2 hours labor even though he was here for well over 3 hours! I apologize for the long review but Joe deserves an in depth review because he indeed is a diamond in the rough.
