Brought two new tires for installation. Ended up with nicks/scratches on rims and low air pressure on left rear tire. Took it back to address the issue. They remove the wheel, over pressurized (over max load) it and checked for leaks. They said it was fine and no leaks. After two days, low pressure on my left rear tire again... Tried calling, but no answer. Bottom Line: Shop is dirty (You'll see it) and the mechanics lacks expertise. Mechanics were dishonest, damaged my rims and covered it up by painting it. They couldn't do a simple tire removal and installation, can't imagine what they will do for other services... You're welcome, to those who read this review and staying away. I'm saving you from future troubles. Should've trusted my gut feeling to turn back when I arrived. Not sure how they have such an amazing review... paid services? read more

Came here for a simple Safety Inspection. These guys decided to overcharge me and claim it is a service fee. This is so exhausting. I have reached out to the Consumer Protection Section of the Attorney General and the State Police. Shops like these are the reason why people hate and don't trust auto shops. These deceptive practices of random service fees and lack of transparency. On top of that, there was grease all over the interior handle of my car and it reeked of cigarette smoke. After repeated delays in returning my vehicle, my car was returned after two months with basic features like windows and door locks not working. Furthermore, multiple pieces of trim were missing or broken and I even found a liquor bottle in the console (I don't drink). My insurance company (Geico) investigated the issue and found out that MTR Auto Service did not replace the parts that they charged me with, and they even caused further damage to my car while attempting to fix it. Now the loss is over $10k. The owner of MTR Auto Service, Marvin, was combative and in denial when I brought up the issues. Multiple attorneys are willing to take the case since it is obvious that MTR deceived a client by pocketing money but not doing the work. I found this place and saw it had 5 stars (from recent clients). I visited this shop for the first time and will give it absolutely 5 stars as well. I went in for service and they checked to see why my engine light was on. They were able to tell me exactly what was wrong with it and did not charge me for anything I did not need. Easily one of the best experiences I've had for auto service. I shred a tire on a pothole and ordered new wheels and tires but needed help installing and getting an alignment. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and let me know I can bring it in no appointment needed. I brought it in on a Saturday and they let me know how much and how long. 2 hours later they came back and let me know the install went well, and checked my alignment and determined it was still good. Overall, they charged me less than the quoted price to install and didn't charge me to check the alignment. They even wrapped my old tires and wheels in plastic so it wouldn't get the car interior dirty. 5 star service, hands down the best on the area. read more

Have you ever received a huge car bill, felt like you were getting ripped off, and daydreamed about a car shop that was 100% honest and did their best to make you feel taken care of? This is that car shop. I've been coming here for the past 2 years, and I'm ashamed to admit that I've not written a review until now. I'm going to skip all the straightforward stuff (oil changes, tire balancing, fluid topping) because they are outstanding at that and there's not much to say beyond that. I'll give some personal anecdotes. But first, in case you don't want to read everything I'll give the anecdote that prompted this review. I heard a squeaking sound from my wheel, and due to some recent bad luck, I assumed the worst. A bad wheel bearing, maybe rotors and brakes would need to get replaced, or even a ball joint or something. I took it to the shop, explained the issue I was having. A road test was performed. Then Marvin asked me to come outside with him. He showed me my car, showed me my wheel, and then started to wiggle the HUBCAP/WHEEL COVER back and forth, which prompted the squeaking sound that struck fear into me. He laughed, I laughed, gave me back my keys and sent me on my way. No charge, and he was very kind throughout the entire process, very understanding. I wonder how many other shops would've just tried replacing parts till the noise stopped rather than actually look at my wheel. Probably an exaggeration, lots of fine shops out there, but I can tell you that MTR Auto Service will actually look at your car and diagnose the issue you brought it in for. No fuss. Now on to the other anecdotes if you're still interested. - On several occasions when something was wrong with my car, Marvin walked me to the back of the shop and showed me exactly what was going on and told me exactly what would need to be replaced. If I had any questions, he would take his time to answer them and make me feel like I wasn't in the dark. He would explain my options to me, tell me what needed to be repaired, what could wait, and even what would probably break next. - On that note, I can trust that Marvin and his team will tell me of any potential problems down the road. One of the biggest things with car repair is that you should replace something before it causes a bigger issue; today's $300 repair is next month's $1200 repair. When i take my car here, I know that they'll tell me about a problem before it becomes a catastrophe. - I work on my car when the repair is something manageable, but diagnosing the problem is beyond my abilities at the moment. But Marvin is great about diagnostic checks and figuring out problems, and in my experience at least he hasn't charged me ever for inspecting an issue I've been having, even if I didn't get it fixed at his shop that day. Plus when I mentioned I work on my car myself, he was very professional about it and didn't try to dissuade me from doing so or make me feel like I was taking away from his business. Getting your car taken into the shop can be scary, and I understand that regardless of the quality of work, a big bill is a big bill. But even if a repair turned out to be costly, I always drove away knowing that the job was done right for a fair price, and at the end of the day that's what you want when looking for your go-to auto shop.
