Since they don't have a current list and unknown people are squatting in empty spaces-this leads to excess texts and more confusion. I just left a space in Hells Kitchen due to water damage. When I initially reached out, he asked me to take pictures of my things so he could estimate time and labor. I also created a spreadsheet, and shared a Google folder with images. His quote included everything listed, and was transparent, and the same price I paid at the end. When his crew arrived at my house in Michigan, and our house was in a state of disaster, they got us packed and moved in a matter of hours. Every single one of them was incredibly sweet, courteous, good-humored, and diligent. We packed most of the important/fragile/precious things, and they packed the big items and a bunch of random stuff we might have forgotten otherwise. Everything made it safe and sound, they parked in the area designated by my new apartment builder super, maneuvered the apartment like pros (cause they are!) and the entire move was made really simple and painless for us. Even when I was at my most stressed, Pat and his guys were the absolute best and bringing me down and just getting things done. I'd definitely recommend them. They were honest, hard working, and just a joy to work with, despite some challenging circumstances. Note: If you're moving long distance, they require a deposit in advance (to cover gas, lodging, materials, etc.) and don't accept credit card (or they didn't at the time I wrote this), so be sure to plan and get a bank check to him in advance. SCAM!!! After being a customer for only three months, I received a notice than my monthly storage…read morerate will increase in 30 days at a rate that is 62% higher than my current rate... WHAT??? A 62% increase is ridiculously unreasonable! Is this even legal? It's certainly unethical!!! I called the company to express my dismay and frustration and asked them to review and assess their practice and charge a lower more reasonable increase after being their customer for only 3 months. This has been a very unsettling customer service experience as I was told on the phone with one of their sales reps when booking this space that the rate is good for at least 12 months. Therefore, upon receiving this rate increase notice feels like a bait and switch, where I as the customer is being unfairly taking advantage of. The district manager called me back and said it's the company's policy and there's nothing they can do. So, now I'm frantically looking for a new storage place and a van to move my stuff from. This is a horror, so please future renters beware and get your agree rental rate in writing for the terms that you want. Don't get tricked like me.
