Great experience! We sat out on the patio for an early Saturday evening dinner, and the entire experience was fantastic. Our server was very nice to us and our kiddo, and gave good suggestions. We had the cold cuts app, kale salad, a pizza, tiramisu, and a few cocktails to share. All the food we had was great, well balanced flavors with interesting twists, like the fried chicken on pizza and the meaty kale salad. The limoncello spritz was so refreshing and good, but the espresso martini was just alright - I might pass on that next time. The tiramisu was to die for - my favorite in the cities so far! Will definitely be back for that, and to try some pastas, which looked and smelled amazing as they passed our table. The only thing that was a little weird was that we asked for whipped cream on the side for our kiddo, and they brought and charged us for "butter" which seemed to be some sort of mascarpone or heavy cream/ butter dish topped with salt and olive oil. It was good and the baby liked it, just wasn't what we expected - something to be aware of! The vibe was date-y and upscale, we felt alright having our baby with us, but definitely felt a bit out of place the few times she was loud. Lovely little place with delicious food and drinks at good prices! Came here on a Saturday evening with a group of three. We called around 5:30 to see if they'd seat us at 7:15 and they were able to reserve a table for us. I got the daily special which was like a chicken Parmesan but with steak. It wasn't my favorite thing because I was not expecting the steak to be thinly cut and more on the dry side. That could be my bad - I heard steak and was imagining something totally different. But it wasn't still pretty good! The noodle texture was to die for. It was $30. Drinks were delicious too and ranged from $12-$15. The only thing that I didn't love, is that they charge for every little thing. we got the focaccia and asked for olive oil and balsamic. Why was that an extra $2... $1 for olive oil and $1 for balsamic. If we hadn't ordered it, it would have been an $8 large sized muffin of focaccia - which turned into $10. Definitely not worth it. I asked for some extra Parmesan and they charged $2 for pecorino... honestly it just threw off the experience a little. And it came in the tiniest little cup. I understand maybe 50 cents but $2? Especially when we're having five drinks and three entrees between three people, realizing we were paying extra for those items on the check just was not enjoyable. I'd recommend this place to others as a great place for pasta and drinks, but pasta and drinks only. Maybe avoid asking for any thing on the side and I'd skip apps. read more

My husband recently went vegetarian which has made finding new go-to restaurants... interesting. Mucci's was on his saved list, and he had already scoped out several dishes he was excited to try so we quick made a reservation and thankfully there were plenty of late evening slots open! We came on a Friday evening and genuinely weren't sure if it was open because the lighting inside is so low it looks completely dark from the outside. (Spoiler: it is open. Just extremely moody.) We started with the focaccia and burrata, which was ah-mazing! Perfect combination, super flavorful--I just wish there had been more bread, and a little balsamic vinegar would've made it next level but all in all so delicious! I ordered the lasagna, which was... okay. Not earth-shattering or jaw-dropping--the meat was a bit dry in my opinion. and I didn't end up eating much of it. HOWEVER. My husband's rigatoni? SO GOOD. Perfectly al dente noodles, incredibly flavorful sauce, and thankfully not an overpowering mushroom flavor (which I was nervous about). Mucci's was a fantastic romantic dinner spot. The appetizer meatballs had a unique texture that I preferred over other meatballs. The fall pasta special was incredible and paired perfectly with the tagliatelle that was the perfect blend of lemon and cream. The pasta noodles tasted homemade and were so good. Came here with a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion. Mucci's was very amenable to our large group size (17 people, but booked in advance) despite the small size of the restaurant. The focaccia was unique and delicious! Served bun-style with no oil or dippings (unless added on) but did not need any, as it was buttery and flavorful. The Caesar salad was large and wonderful, and a stand-out of the night. I ordered the Bucatini and was unfortunately disappointed by the level of spice... much too spicy for most people who ordered within our group! The pasta was flavorful, but I wish it were more properly labeled as a caution. Overall, the restaurant emanated coziness. Unfortunately, the temperature inside was overly hot - to the extent that a few group members had to step out for cool air. A must stop for caesar salad lovers! The salad is HUGE and served with a mound of parm on top. Pasta entrees are great too and you get a generous portion enough to split between two. One critique I do have is the waiter didn't let me know an extra side of parm to additionally top on my pasta was not free, so that was a disappointment to see when the check came. Came here on the recommendation of our kids who have been here a handful of times. Sat at the bar and had absolutely perfect service from our server, Molly. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was a very generous portion with a delightful aïoli. The old-fashioned and whiskey cocktails were very good. Hubby ordered the Tagliatelle Diablo with crab and I had the Bucatini (recommended). The bucatini was excellent! I've been to Mucci's twice and sat at the bar both times. The food is amazing. I had the lasagna and it was a giant block of soft flavorful delicious. The Caesar salad was super fresh and tasty. My only disappointment was the focaccia which is shaped like a giant bun and was served without the benefit of olive oil. Service was attentive and cheerful. Dining room is fun and buzzing, but I'm coming back for the patio - which looked so very pleasant. The prices here are more than the neighborhood or the setting merits. This place is fun - not fine dining- but the prices are high - $150 for 2 is a bit pricey. read more

We were in town for a friend's wedding and on our first night in town we all met up here, at Mucci's. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was how adorable this part of town is. I love that this restaurant is nestled into a neighborhood that has some charm to it. You can tell that Mucci's is truly a neighborhood spot, and even though it's upscale Italian fare, the ambiance is really relaxed and fits into its surroundings. Now let's get into the food. Literally everything we sampled was great, but it should come as no surprise that the pizza with the fried chicken on it was the big winner. It's as impressive as it looks in all the photos and while it might look like a gimmick, it really has great flavor and goes above and beyond expectation. I tried a few bites of some different pasta dishes as well, all were top notch. Our cocktails were delightful, our server gracious, all in all if we lived here I'd certainly be back, and I see why my friends love this place so much. read more

I have been to Mucci's twice and I won't be going back. The food was disappointing on both occasions but especially with our most recent visit. The highlight of the meal was the stater. We ordered the meatballs and it was very good but I wish I would have stopped there. I had the Chicken Piccata for my main and if it wasn't for the capers in the dish it would have been flavorless. For the most part it was bland. We ordered the Tiramisu to share and each of us stopped after one bite. The texture was thick and it tasted a bit sour. The cocktails are well made but small. I felt like I was drinking my Old Fashioned out of a shot glass. The service was good on both visits, no complaints there. The restaurant is small but I do like the style of the space. I will mention the restaurant has a very nice patio. The food is disappointing and I can't look past that but it earns 3 starts for the space and good service. read more

The vibe was perfect for date night and parking was easy (street). We sat at the bar by the kitchen, ordered and bottle of red wine (delicious) and watched all the food coming out -- so fun! We ordered the caesar salad, angel hair pasta and camilla pizza. The caesar and camilla pizza was AMAZING! The caesar salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. Gem lettuce with freshly grated parmesan mixed with the perfect amount of dressing, what's not to love?! However, the angel hair pasta was very fishy, which is unfortunately why I can't give it 5-stars. We're big seafood fans but the sauce on this pasta was incredibly fishy and I wouldn't it order again. Overall, the service was great, pizza and salad were great. You guys! I have no idea how long this place has been in my neighborhood, and I took it for granted all this time. Service was excellent. For having black walls, it's very cheery inside. We tried three apps and the charred salad. The ca,I'll is one of the most unique and tasty pizzas I've ever had. Extremely high quality. I had Chinese food notes and it worked! I'm craving the flavor! Burratta was exceptional, beautiful, with an amazing sauce, some kind of pesto. The tempura asparagus was crisp and tasty, with a green goddess aioli I could drink For dinner, we tried half the menu, and I can't wait to try the rest. I personally had the chicken piccata which was very delicious. My friends and family who were there tried lasagna and the Bucatini and loved them. I seriously cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! Shout out to the tiramisu, which sometimes can be bitter. This was really nice, not too sweet, and very creamy. Muccis is a top 3 Italian eatery in the twin cities. Located off Randolph in St Paul you need a reservation as it is tiny as far as table space but the food is so worth it. I'm the warm months they have a great patio area and the ambience is warm and intimate. Staff can guide you if you are a rookie and their specials are out of this world. We were celebrating an 80th birthday for a special friend so we had the meatball, bruschetta and Brussels sprouts as starters followed by a house salad and pastas. They were funny, engaged, knowledgeable, and super responsive. It made me want to come back just to be there friends!! It gave me small town vibes :) The food of course was also excellent. They had a calamari special which was delightful and so fresh. Then I was there with one other person so we split a pasta dish and a pizza. Both were excellent! We had the fried chicken pizza, mafaldine pasta, hangover kale, and some summery cocktails. All delicious and honestly I would order them all again! Fried chicken pizza might sound weird but where else can you try a fried chicken pizza! It was sweet and spicy and had crunchy texture and soft all at the same time. Hangover kale is also a must. Hit the patio while it's open! The only reason I'm docking a star is because our server seemed impatient and annoyed with all of our questions. She was prompt but we asked about the donuts and she seemed like we should have known that they don't do them anymore? But I don't actually know if that's true. Personally, I did not like the pizza and it's highly rated low for me. Few reasons, the dough was extremely tough. My GF and I did not talk because we kept chewing. My jaw hurt afterwards. We visited Mucci's on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration. We were seated a little later than our reservation and there isn't a lot of room to wait - the staff have seats in a small area next to the patio door and the restrooms where we waited for a few minutes. The staff moved tables around to seat us (we had a larger group) and promptly came to check in. I ordered a glass of Cabernet that was served in a small cup instead of a wine glass; I thought it fit the feeling of the restaurant well and was cute! The space has a laid back vibe with lots of plants and different seating options. We started by splitting the focaccia and the meatball appetizers. The apps were small and the pricing didn't make sense - the meatballs were somewhere in the ballpark of $20 and were the size of ping pong balls. It was a very small portion and for the price. They were delicious though, as was the focaccia. I ordered the lasagna and it was delicious. The sauce was rich, the noodles were perfectly done, and it was so satisfying on a cold night. Others got the pizza (delicious with a really nice crust), and the gnocchi Marsala (so good and the staff were really accompanying with requests to remove mushrooms), and the bucatini. The bucatini noodles were perfectly done, but the sauce was so spicy the three people who ordered it had trouble eating it. The pricing of the pasta dishes was a great value, especially for the portion sizes. The portions are gigantic (and make great leftovers the next day). Overall, we had a good experience and good service. I would recommend giving Mucci's a try! read more

I was so excited to finally try Mucchi's and was bummed to find it to be average. Their doughscuits though...those are a 5/5. My husband and I came before the pandemic a couple years ago to find a two hour wait at opening, so we left. Fast forward to middle of pandemic, we decided to go for takeout. We had the hangover kale, lasagna, bucatini, Camilla pizza. The kale was so salty, it was pretty much inedible. Lasagna and bucatini were fine, opposite of the kale, bordering on bland, and the pizza was uninspiring. We can say we gave it a try, maybe the in house experience would have been better, but I think I'll stick to the doughscuits. read more

Sad face. I usually have a 5 star experience at Mucci's (which is why I chose it for my bday dinner) but this time, not so much. Not sure if our ticket got lost or the order wasn't put in, but we waited much longer than usual for our entrees and our server acknowledged the wait (but offered no explanation). No other tables seemed to have this issue. My partner ordered one of their last servings of chicken parm (was a special that night) and when he finally got it, it was burnt around the edges. I wanted to send it back but he just wanted to eat and knew he'd have to wait for them to cook something entirely different since they were out of the chicken parm. I always get the bucatini and it was good, but it didn't seem the same as usual. I'll be back because I'm sure this was just an off night, but I was still shocked by the less than impressive experience. read more

Appeared to be covering multiple areas of the restaurant (inside and outside) as well as some hostess duties. Food was good, but not great. Then the bill came and I was charged $2 for a small ramaken of butter. If I am dropping $200 for dinner I am not expecting to be charged for butter. Sought out manager to comment ... but could not find one. We won't be returning. read more
