    Tiramisu

Stopped in here for lunch today. I had the cheese ravioli and my fiancé had a dago and cheese bread. The red sauce was amazing! The service was wonderful! It was fast and everything came out hot and tasted amazing! Drinks were cheap. The cherry on top was the amazing homemade tiramisu. Prices were great. We will definitely be back!

It had been several years since I had been to this restaurant, so decided to go on my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, it's not as good as it used to be. The dining room was closed, so we ate in the bar area. Placed order at the bar, paid, and picked our drinks up from there as well. They did bring the food to the table, but didn't check back. Staff was friendly, but they were unorganized. They brought Italian bread to the table to start, which was good. We ordered the Dago sandwich, which was fine but nothing special. We also ordered Spaghetti with meatball, the meatball was delicious but the Spaghetti itself did not have enough sauce on it so it was dry. Also ordered a pizza to take home, which was quite good. Overall, not worth price.

Classic Italian restaurant. I enjoy the spaghetti and meatballs. Nice off street parking too.

Ok ! This isn't your Cosettas , to be honest it's better sauce !! Super sweet ladies working here and it's your mamma papa place ! Homemade pasta and sauce is fantastic !! I highly recommend if you have a party of five or six order the sampler platter the garlic cheese bread is FANTASTIC !! If I could at more I would have but practically rolled out of there ! It's not super fancy but the price is great and the sauce and pasta is like being in north Italy!

I have been past this place many times and finally stopped in. The meal was excellent. Great plate of spaghetti and meatball with some bread. Fast and friendly service.

A historic Italian staple in Saint Paul. Could it use a facelift? Absolutely. Does it give me nostalgic energy every time I step foot in the building because it hasn't changed? Yes. This is a gem and my grandpa's family photo of 15 siblings is up on a wall mural along with many other Italian families too. Come for your basic spaghetti and meatballs, rigatoni or mostaccoli. Don't forget to add some spumoni ice cream at the end (it's huge fyi!). Unfortunately there are no more table servers (there used to be but it's probably a staffing issue or cost savings) and you order up at the bar / register and someone will bring you your food and drinks. I hope it goes back to a full service someday but I'm simply ecstatic it is still around. Keep it up, Yarusso's! We are so grateful for you.

Chicken Parmasean Alfredo - that sauce has a fantastic smoothness.

I've come here twice in the last five days. The first time was because something else fell through and I remembered that a good friend of mine LOVES it here. The second time was because, a few days later, I was feeling indecisive about what I wanted for dinner, so I asked myself, "dude, what do you GENUINELY want to eat right now?" And the honest answer was more from Yarusso Bros. This is an Italian food place on the east side of St Paul. It has the aesthetic and ambiance of a blue collar neighborhood joint that has been feeding contented StPaulitans for decades and will continue to do so for decades more. I've had rigatoni with a meatball & red sauce, and I've had chicken Parmesan Alfredo. Both tasted great, and in both cases I attribute that to the unique and expertly crafted sauces they each came with. The pasta and the meat were all perfect as well, but I think there's some kind of magic about how that sauce goes with their meatballs that keeps people coming back for it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. And let me just restate that neither the red sauce nor the Alfredo sauce are anywhere near run-of-the-mill. If you're expecting them to be indistinguishable from what you'd get at Cossetta or Mama's, you will probably be very pleasantly surprised. It took kind of a while for my food to arrive during my second visit. Bread is served right away, but it's room-temperature white bread like you'd use to make a PB&J sandwich. And prices hover in the average-to-above-average range. But I will happily pay that for food that tastes this good.

I visited Yarusso's this past weekend to celebrate my younger brother and his family being back in town from Ireland. There were 12 of us and it turned out to be a great trip down memory lane. As always, the food was good and the service was excellent. We spoke with Fred Yarusso and reminisced about mutual friends and acquaintances. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you, Yarusso's!

Mhm mhm mhmmm. That garlic cheese bread though. Just excellent. The marinara grew on me, but there is like brown sugar or something in it. The homemade vignette on the salad was amazing. The manicotti literally melted in your mouth. Overall this place was just amazing. They have they're own parking lot which is nice, it's free to use to costumers. The building is dimly lit and has a warm atmosphere. The closest thing I could compare it to is a speakeasy for Italian food. The bar is older and there are no tap beers, but the beverages are reasonably priced. They have a Tommy gun replica above the bar. It's furnished like something you'd see in an old mobster movie and there are plenty of pictures hanging on the wall of past owners and movie stars. Most notably there is a large painting of Swede Hollow back in the day with a creek running through it. Overall amazing. The food was the best Italian I've had in Minnesota to date.

We love going to places like these. There is something about keeping things the way they've always been. They are like the gems in the world of cookie cutter cafes, restaurants and bars. The device was good and the food was very good! John chose spaghetti and meatballs and I had a meatball hoagie supreme. Mine was piping hot and had wonderful mozzarella cheese on top. I kicked mine up a notch with jalapeños. John enjoyed his but could have stood for a bit more spice in the sauce. Overall, we really enjoyed them and added the boxed leftovers to our inventory of leftovers. Since we are traveling in subzero temperatures will have no problem transporting them home for additional great bites!

The pros: portion sizes are huge, chicken tasted good The cons: waiter did not stop by the table once, my water was empty within the first 10 min of sitting there and i had to take my cup physically up to the counter to get water from them because i was so thirsty. I didnt see him once after that, he just stood up at the counter talking to the other server. The pasta was oily, they put so much cheese on everything that the oils from the cheese come out and my pasta literally had a layer of oil all around the plate. The mozzerella garlic bread barely had any garlic bread taste, tasted mostly like mozzerella. The mozzerella was also so oily that the garlic bread was just soggy 5 min after the waiter put the plate down. The price is steep, by myself i got an app and an entree only and it came out to 48$ before tip. Overall, for a spot with the reviews it has it completely let me down along with the locals who recommended it to me.

For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Marsala. You get to choose a side; options ranging from Alfredo Fettuccine to Green Beans to Mashed Potatoes to Spaghetti Marinara. I went for the Spaghetti. The meal also came with two breadsticks. Overall, the dish was decent but not remarkable. The highlight was the mushrooms in the Marsala wine sauce. They were flavorful and well prepared. The chicken itself was just okay. Without the sauce, it lacked seasoning, and the texture varied throughout the breast, with some parts tender and others noticeably tough or chewy. The spaghetti was good, though comparable to standard spaghetti you might find anywhere. The breadsticks, however, were disappointing; they were extremely hard and not enjoyable to eat. I also wish the Chicken Marsala and the spaghetti were packaged separately. Because of the amount of sauce, everything blended together in the container. I don't mind my food touching, but separating the items would make for a better presentation and texture. I do think other menu items may have more to offer. One mediocre experience isn't enough for me to write off the restaurant entirely, so I would consider trying something else in the future. However, I wouldn't recommend this particular dish based on today's order. Overall rating: 3/5.

Our server was very nice to us and our kiddo, and gave good suggestions. We had the cold cuts app, kale salad, a pizza, tiramisu, and a few cocktails to share. All the food we had was great, well balanced flavors with interesting twists, like the fried chicken on pizza and the meaty kale salad. The limoncello spritz was so refreshing and good, but the espresso martini was just alright - I might pass on that next time. The tiramisu was to die for - my favorite in the cities so far! Will definitely be back for that, and to try some pastas, which looked and smelled amazing as they passed our table. The only thing that was a little weird was that we asked for whipped cream on the side for our kiddo, and they brought and charged us for "butter" which seemed to be some sort of mascarpone or heavy cream/ butter dish topped with salt and olive oil. It was good and the baby liked it, just wasn't what we expected - something to be aware of! The vibe was date-y and upscale, we felt alright having our baby with us, but definitely felt a bit out of place the few times she was loud. Perhaps on a weekday, it might be easier to bring kids, but even on a Saturday evening we still felt pretty welcome.

We called around 5:30 to see if they'd seat us at 7:15 and they were able to reserve a table for us. I got the daily special which was like a chicken Parmesan but with steak. It wasn't my favorite thing because I was not expecting the steak to be thinly cut and more on the dry side. That could be my bad - I heard steak and was imagining something totally different. But it wasn't still pretty good! The noodle texture was to die for. It was $30. Drinks were delicious too and ranged from $12-$15. The only thing that I didn't love, is that they charge for every little thing. we got the focaccia and asked for olive oil and balsamic. Why was that an extra $2... $1 for olive oil and $1 for balsamic. If we hadn't ordered it, it would have been an $8 large sized muffin of focaccia - which turned into $10. Definitely not worth it. I asked for some extra Parmesan and they charged $2 for pecorino... honestly it just threw off the experience a little. And it came in the tiniest little cup. I understand maybe 50 cents but $2? Especially when we're having five drinks and three entrees between three people, realizing we were paying extra for those items on the check just was not enjoyable. I'd recommend this place to others as a great place for pasta and drinks, but pasta and drinks only. Maybe avoid asking for any thing on the side and I'd skip apps.

Nothing could be further from the truth. My wife and I were able to enjoy our meal and comfortable conversation. Now, for the food. They have an appetizer called "Pizza Fries". Having been frequent diners at Mama's, and having pizza fries there, that was what I was expecting, a garlic and butter pizza crust with cheese on it. This is not that. The pizza fries are pizza dough deep fried. Sounds simple, and it is...but they are so addicting. You will not be disappointed.
