When we first walked in at 7:30 tonight, a family of 4 ... 2 parents, a 22 & 17 year old, it definitely looked to be a local place. We weren't sure about how welcomed we felt but with some time the bartender warmed up to us. It's definitely not a warm welcoming experience to perhaps non locals, but we all enjoyed what we ate. The other night I was craving a turkey club, but wanted to try a different place than my usual. I took a chance and ordered from Muddy's, and am extremely happy I did!! I placed an order for my family and everyone was pleased and loved it. We ordered the Turkey club, two cheese burgers, an order of chicken tenders and an order of hot boneless chicken wings. The food was delicious and way better than I was expecting, I ended up ordering Muddy's for the lunch the next day that's how good it was! I ordered a crispy chicken salad, Cesar salad, a chicken and cheese quesadilla and a chicken, bacon and cheese quesadilla and once again everyone loved their food! Muddy's is local bikini bar. It is classy, clean, has good food and attracts a crowd of mostly regulars who are older and blue collar. The bikinis are usually very minimal but can vary - and there are times like trivia night that there are no bikinis. Don't be shy about calling ahead to inquire about the dress if thats why you're going (and you are). Service has been very friendly and capable when I've been there during the day shift, these have not been like the Tilted Kilt staff. The food is really very good for bar food and very plentiful. The garlic Parm wings may have been the best wings I have ever had - shatterlingly crispy. The Reuben was also excellent, sausage sub just pretty good. I'm always surprised that nobody has heard about Muddy's - it has been here forever and is a very unique and fun place. Well worth the trip for the occasional visit. read more

There's something to be said for a place that has their bartenders wear white-out over their nipples instead of wearing actual tassels. Anyway, the great story about this place was a friend of mine was drinking heavily here during the day and he was sitting next to this kind, older gentleman. They sat drinking for several hours until finally the friendly stranger stood up and said, "Well, guess I better get to work." Ordered lunch for pick up today. The girl who answered the phone was both pleasant and helpful when asked what was most popular on the menu. She told me it'd be ready in 20 minutes and it was. I arrived to pick it up and she and the other staffer, were accommodating, conversational, and thoughtful asking me if I needed condiments. I ordered the burger med-rare, it was pretty tasty. I went to Muddy's with brocho after hearing some chatter about it. Sure enough the barkeep was female, and topless except for some weird flesh colored paint on her niparoos. When we entered there were only a few patrons. One was drunk and had his head down on the bar like a sleepy, really depressed school boy. The others looked like they had walked in and were fixing to walk home. We ordered whiskey and beer, both very reasonable priced. Word on the street is the food is great and the steak sandwich was legendary. The bartenders were pleasant and attentive. They had a girl next door quality that was cute. They were not being exotic or truthfully even sexy. They were just not wearing tops and had thongs on. The lights were on full blast and the girls had bar maintenance to do, washing glasses and so forth. There is a classic Sienfield episode that talks about what you shouldn't do naked. The waitresses are very friendly, despite having to deal with Watervliets worst on a daily basis. This place is really one of a kind. If you ever feel compelled to come upstate to the Albany area, and happen to be around the Watervliet/Latham/Menands area.......you have to at least stop here for a drink. Believe me, your jaw will drop at how just odd and trashy this place is, and it's still a clean bar. A couple things to note about this place: the pitchers are pretty cheap, so I suggest coming with a friend or two (not too big of a group, its just too depressing as an option for that) and splitting one. Second, they have plenty of space in the back for karaoke and tables and just fool-making areas. Third, the clientele here is just WEAK. Old regulars mix with barely-scraping-by white racists with the occasional horny couple just going at it at a table. And fourth, but certainly not the least. The bartenders. Yes they are all hot. But what's just incredibly silly is that they are almost fully naked. They were small tassles over their nipples, and thong it up waist down. And heels or shoes. That's it. Why? I dunno. But since the clients aren't very attractive, the disparity is so damaging to the psyche; why work here? why have this gimmick? it's just so odd. You may ask why I go here when I'm home. Well, its the closest bar to me. My friend Chris, his family lives down the block (we can walk there in about 40 seconds). The girls are cute and look forward to conversation from someone who has hope in life. The people are super nice, and gave my daughter her drink free while she waited for out take-out order. Try the Muddy's Burger. It is amazing!! The macaroni salad has a sweet taste - so good. Then there are the waffle fries. I could eat a whole plate of those alone. read more

Nothing says 'Merica like cold beer, hot wings, and scantily clad bartenders and Muddys does a fine job of of giving their customers that sense of pride that's usually only found on the 4th of July. Although it's off the beaten path and easy to miss, Muddys is one of those places that you should experience. From the outside the place does not look like much but once you're inside you'll find a surprisingly nice establishment. There's nothing fancy here, just your typical pub fare, but then again when your bartender is wearing next to nothing you probably shouldn't be expecting fine cuisine. Wow! All I can say. When I heard that Watervliet had a topless bar, my first thoughts were "overpriced beer, crappy food, skanky bartenders". How wrong I was. Muddy's has a decent beer selection (not Holmes & Watson, but not bad) at reasonqable prices, large portions of excellent food, and, if my visit this Monday asternoon is any indicator, beautiful and friendly beer nymphs ready to fill your glass. My bartender was Amanda. Clad only in a thong and an artfully applied slather of pink latex over her nipples she was a vision of innocence and loveliness. I left with a plaesant buzz from the combination of Guiness, Saranac and Yuengling that I has imbibed, and the even more intoxicating sunshine of Amanda's smile. What a wodderful place! We've ordered food from Muddy's on Grubhub 3 times. Each time, the food has been late, soggy and cold. Each time, we've called inquiring about the order and have received a nasty reply about "how it's Grubbub's fault and not the restaurant's problem". The funny thing though is that we have never had this problem with Grubhub delivering food from any other restaurants. I'd like to say the food is good, maybe it would be if it was fresh, or if we ate at the restaurant, but we will not be giving them any more business. read more

This place has caused nothing but trouble for my husband and I. My husband and I are avid bycyclists and for a few weeks he went on some rides alone because I didnt want to go. I found out through him that he stopped here for what he says were wings and a beer. OHHH NO!!!!!!!!!! You don't just stop here for food. I am not stupid and was not born ysterday. Muddy's is definitely a hidden gem. It provides benefits of going to a strip club but with plausible deniability for your girl friend / wife due to it being a tavern. Some of the added benefits include no cover and no drink minimum. I would suggest trying to get there around a shift change so you get twice the viewing pleasure. my husband and i have had alot of really fun times here, even though it is a topless bar. i was never worried about my husband going there without me, i actually thought it was pretty cool he felt solid enough in our marriage to be able to go and hang out with the boys there, and then bring me there to enjoy all they have to offer.. not only to they have a really cool atmosphere, but the food is great and it doesnt seem to have alot of rif raf. it is a nice family owned place you can feel comfortable at, i mean 2 of the people that worked there attended our wedding. so its not a nasty place where you have to worry about your man, well unless your not doing something for him at home!!! f you are a woman who has no worries about your man being around topless women serving them drinks, this is a place you can enjoy!! if your going to let it cause problems, stay away and rethink your marriage... dont blame a bar!! read more
