We walked in and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated in the dining room and all the tvs had football on. Cute little lights on the tables lend to the ambiance. Our waitress took our order. I'm in an Irish pub so I HAVE TO get fish and chips and so happy that I did. 2 huge fish strips served over hot French fries. Did not disappoint! My husband had a cheeseburger. Finally around 10:00 I asked our waitress if our food wasn't close to being out we were leaving. She came out and said it's going to be a while!!!! What a waste of time! Grab any table you want, make your way to the bar, try to get the bartender's attention, order your food and get one of the flashing disc pagers. When it buzzes, go to the pick-up window to get your food. I got what I thought was going to be fish sandwich, but was mistaken as I hadn't read the menu description carefully enough. It turned out to an entire fried fish. Who eats this much fried fish?! It was like the Cheesecake Factory version of fried fish. Furthermore, this thing was so overly fried, there was a very thick shell of fried 'something' surrounding the fish. Now, to be fair, once I chipped away the fried exterior, the fish was pretty good. The coleslaw was in a tiny cup, sad and drowning in mayo. Plan for the food to take 15 minutes to come out (and this was a not very crowded weekday night).

i attended the Wolf Hollow food and beer pairing at Hometown last night. the food was excellent. the chef went out of his way to create food that was not only delicious but very unique as well. service was excellent and every course was the proper temperature. wolf Hollow beer was excellent and used in some of the sauces. large portions were well received and the $50 price (included appetizer , salad, main course and dessert with carefully paired Wolf Hollow Beer flavors that enhanced the food to perfection. this place is a hidden gem. Well worth a visit and i am looking forward to the next visit. read more

I want to start by saying that my experience in all the years this establishment has been in business I have always enjoyed their food and service. I typically sit at a table but was at the bar area this time . I had brooke , which is a local native as my bartender. She was attentive and most of all hilarious. She has a personality that is not to be beat for sure. This added to the already amazing experience. I've been coming to this place for 3 years now and it's all you can ask for in a pub with TVs, a jukebox and an outdoor patio. It's a great spot to catch a Warriors game or just grab drinks with friends. Never been a huge Bloody Mary fan, but after watching the bartender make a few here I had to try one and... wow. They're legit. The Spicy Mule also gets the job done. Tons of beer on tap, which just adds to the appeal. Head to the back deck and you can kill a whole day before you even realize it. read more

This is a great family friendly bar. They make you feel like family and their specials are always fantastic. All of the employees from the bartenders to the servers to the cooks are always on their game. As crowded as it gets sometimes whether it be live music or sports on the multiple televisions through out the bar they are always accommodating. Now here's a fine addition to the local pub scene that I hope will do well. Ask and sign up for texted specials, which will let you know when bands and specials are coming in. Free local bands, a nice pool table area, and good pub food specials in a clean area, make for a nice addition, set slightly behind Sacandaga Road. recently had a spur of the moment family get-together with family that included approximately 20 people. the Hometown Pub was a convenient spot for us to meet. They were very accommodating.
