My son looked for breakfast places near King of Prussia. He picked Muffins because the pictures looked really good. He said that the pictures lived up to the hype after our breakfast there. There's plenty of street parking. There are tables as well as stools at the counter. We were greeted by Lexi as soon as we arrived. The menu has breakfast and lunch options. We decided to try the meat lovers omelette and the caprese omelette. Both came with shredded home fries and toast. Everything was delicious. They have Coke products. Muffins is another excellent breakfast/lunch kitchen on 4th Street, Bridgeport, PA, just across the Schuylkill River from Norristown. It changed ownership a couple of years ago, and has become a warm inviting cafe in which to settle down on a bright red seat or tubular stainless stool along the counter and chow down heartily. A solitary traveler, I sat at the counter overlooking the open kitchen and was served by Lexi the friendly efficient server, who took my order for a Veggie Omelet, hash browns with onion/green pepper mixed in and rye toast, and poured their Ward Coffee dripped by Bunn several times without being asked. Everything was excellent. It looked great on the oval plate, with the omelet taking up half the space, and the generous taters and toast the rest. The eggs were moist and full with spinach, pepper, onion, mushroom and tomato. The hash browns were nicely crisped with sautéed onions and green peps wrapped within the fold over (+$1). I don't know how I ate it all, but it was too delicious to leave anything behind. On the way out I chatted with Paul, one of the owners of Muffins. It was he who prepared my meal, and I thanked him for making my day. He seemed genuinely pleased with my satisfaction. This strip of 4th Street is becoming a destination for people who love their morning or afternoon meals in unique and attractive surroundings that cook up menus that allow them to think of themselves as foodies, or at least lovers of great American cookery. read more

Was in the area and did a quick yelp dewar for breakfast and Muffins seemed like just the right spot and they did not disappoint! I ordered 2. Real fast sandwiches with egg and American cheese on a Kaiser roll with a side of hash brown to go. The super friendly and smiling staff told me the wait was 15-20 minutes because they were a bit backed up. The place was really cool with a retro 1950s coffee shop vibe and an open kitchen/grill. Everyone was moving fast preparing food for pickup orders and serving the tables. When I got my order and opened it up it looked pretty good but man when I took that first bite I was transported to breakfast sandwich heaven! The eggs were perfectly layered in the amazing roll cooked "over hard" as they recommended when I ordered and layered with cheese so there wasn't a single bite that didn't have roll, egg, or cheese in it. The hash browns were another "wow!" Shredded potatoes and onions cooked to perfection balancing the crisp and soft textures. How could I be so excited over a breakfast sandwich? I've surely downed thousands in my lifetime. This one was different and my wife agreed. This old school diner is a hidden gem in Bridgeport, only a few minutes drive from the King of Prussia mall. I've driven by countless times and had it recommended to me before I finally came in for breakfast with my husband and daughter. The inside of the restaurant was busy and crowded with a ton of regulars (for good reason), but we were kindly offered some outdoor seating alongside the building. It looks like there is limited seating overall, so we came at a good time. Despite being seated outside, the service was fast and attentive. The food was incredible! One of the best omelettes I had in a while and perfectly crispy home fries. The coffee tasted freshly made and served in the most adorable coffee mugs. This place reminded me of the mom and pop restaurants in my hometown, places that seem to be closing down these days. Bridgeport is a small borough near Philadelphia. Decided to try Muffins as I was in Bridgeport for work. They are a "Mom & Pop" business which I love to support when traveling. It's quaintly located on the corner. I parked at a meter. Only takes quarters and my meter required a couple of slaps to get the manual meter to move. Probably needs oil. Lol I sat at the counter but they had tables and booths. Not large but plenty of room. The woman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. The omelette was delicious and a lot of food. Went to Muffins Breakfast & Lunch on 6/16/2024.My first choice was to go to the 4th st cafe but they were closed at 11am on Sunday when they had a lot of people coming for breakfast even though their sign said they were open at 8am. Muffins had a line out the door and a full house. They were quick and efficient and their food portions were good and my moneys worth. Their pancakes were thick and I only had a double stack bust just one was good enough for me and filled me up quickly. The coffee was the bomb, and they had a good amount of selections and options for food. Even with all of the heavy traffic from 4th st being closed they managed to have everything clean and ready for the next. For my boyfriend and I the bill only came up to $37 bucks and I tipped them $65 for their perfect service, cleanliness and good energy. Even with a bustling and busy restaurant, the waitresses handled the heavy traffic very well and were very respectful and very nice and welcoming. I wish I took pics of the food when it was served but I got very full in 5 minutes and took it to go home because it was worth every penny! read more

Met a friend at Muffins. It was my first time there and had a good experience. While briefly waiting outside before my friend arrived, I was thinking of getting pancakes or French toast as the smells from the building were tempting. I instead got a veggie omelette which was very good. Service was friendly too. Very tiny business which filled up but there wasn't a wait at the time I visited (a Sunday approximately 9am). Parking was easy, noting the fine print on the back of the old quarter only meters, that weekends and certain holidays were free. I assume if you go on a weekday, 1 quarter gives you 15mins. Also, the place is pretty small, so first come first served. **I realize that this is probably a locals only sort of spot, but post a sign letting outsiders know that it's cash only and seat yourself! If they had a sign(s), my apologies for being unobservant. Regardless, everyone we encountered was very nice and extremely polite! Moving on -- food was delicious and prepared/delivered quickly! Portions were great and we actually got three dishes for $20. We each ordered a plate of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and toast, then an order of French toast because my boyfriend loves it. Excellent place. The owners & staff are very nice & they truly strive to please each of their customers. I ordered a tuna hoagie which I enjoyed very much. I know It sounds silly but what I really appreciated was the great care the person took to prepare and package the hoagie so neatly. I think this is the first time I've unwrapped a hoagie and the tuna & toppings stayed inside the roll and didn't fall out everywhere with each bite. Yep! This small place is a top notch old school breakfast joint. It's tough to spot, the signage is minimal, and its easy to wiz on by. Everything is newer, clean and bright. The cooking area is right out in the open. The staff are busy but attentive. The coffee is hot and good. The waffles are outstanding. Prices are average, but nothing is cheap these days. The owners are local. I am really rooting for this place. If I had to choose any place for breakfast in the kOP, Conshy, and Bridgeport area, this would be the one! Definitely a locals-only spot. It's teeny tiny breakfast & lunch diner-style joint that just barely accommodated our party of 6 plus a baby. The portions are huge and delicious, service is fast and friendly, the bill is shockingly small, and you'll want to become one of the regulars after trying it out. CASH ONLY - but you won't need much. I had the banana pancakes. They were incredibly scrumptious - this place does it RIGHT and puts the bananas IN the pancakes so they caramelize and make for a more tender, naturally sweet pancake that just melts in your mouth. One of my dining companions got the regular pancakes and they were not as good as the banana, which is the only reason I've docked a star - the regular pancakes are not as tender and the flavor is only ok. They also serve up scrapple. To folks from Philly, this is expected and hardly worth mentioning; to those of us not from Philly (aka me!) this is just something you need to know so you get it here. The coffee is great though the cups are a little small for a coffee guzzler like myself, though our sweet waitress did a great job keeping me topped off. After reading Yelp reviews, and having a serious craving for pancakes, I decided to give this place a shot. Let's start with this - this is a small, family run restaurant. I think I counted 38 seats in the whole place, and they definitely have regulars that they greet by name and serve almost immediately. This can feel intimidating to some. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED!!! I was welcomed immediately and served coffee a minute later (also, the reason for four stars - coffee was ok, and the place makes you smell like bacon after walking out). Now, the food - I got a short stack of banana pancakes and two over easy eggs. I'm also what my fiancé calls a "heathy eater". The eggs were good, but that's not why I went- the PANCAKES! They're great. Big, thick, had lots of actual banana in them, and it was hard for me to finish both. They were PERFECTLY cooked, fluffy, everything you want from real pancakes. This place is an amazing hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop shop. It might not knock your socks off when you walk right in, but the waitresses that greet you are very sweet and friendly. They have a small menu with all the basic breakfast and lunch options. But the food. The food! It's amazing. Home-made, old-fashioned, buttery amazing goodness. Literally the best pancakes I've ever had. They're huge and fluffy and you can tell they're made from scratch fresh every day. I'm usually a sauage girl (cause it's hard to mess up sausage) but their bacon is so perfectly cooked that I alternate between the two. And do yourself a favor and get a grilled housemade blueberry muffin. It'll be dripping with butter and will definitely blow your calories for the day but it is so, so worth it. I think they're cash-only, but their prices are soo cheap that a $20 will cover you and your dining partner. I moved into Philly a few months ago, but I always stop here when I'm back in the area. So glad to have found this little gem on our recent trip to PA. Stayed at DoubleTree Valley Forge and this diner is just a few minutes away. This place has a lot of character and the people are so friendly. Old fashioned bar stools and counter, tables, booths, and extremely good food. Prices are phenomenal as well. It's a tiny restaurant, but that made me like it more. We ended up eating breakfast here both mornings of our trip. Yum! Omelets, pancakes, and homefries are what we ordered. I'm from California and found this place on yelp while visiting friends and family. The reviews looked promising and I was not disappointed. It was so good, I ended up going twice! First morning I had pork roll and eggs with hash brown and a grilled muffin. Only mild complaint is the hash browns, good, but not great and too much food. Next day we were there on a Saturday and so I had the chipped beef, eggs, and muffin, skipping the hash browns and it was amazing. Just be aware that it is cash only, but prices are very reasonable, especially compared to what breakfast costs where I live! read more
