Horrible horrible service. Danielle, the owner, promised in April to come to my event and at the…read morelast hour cancelled for this past weekend for no reason what so ever. We had a lot of young kids really looking forward to it but she didn't like the fact a hot dog vendor was there. There is no competition between her and a hot dog vendor.

We hosted a local fundraiser volleyball tournament this past Saturday 7/19/25. It was an awesome…read moreday of volleyball, and we have tried to add fun things over the past few years such as food trucks, and even a dunk tank this year. So we were excited when Bee Bowl'd agreed to attend our fundraiser! Well, 48 hours before the tournament, I called the owner, Danielle, in order to confirm what time she would be there. What followed was a very bizarre phone conversation, where she proceeds to tell me she's been "back and forth" about whether or not she should still come, since there would be 2 other food trucks there. Now you see, Danielle agreed to come to our event on April 17th, and she was also well aware that Kona ice and Carl's gourmet Hots would be there. Clearly, Açaí bowls are not in direct competition with shaved ice or hot dogs/sandwiches. We had especially wanted her açaí bowl truck because volleyball players LOVE acai bowls, which I tried hard to convey that to her while she was telling me she isn't coming. Unfortunately, she did not care one bit that even though she had committed to come to this event (which we were also promised 10% donation from each food truck as this was a fundraiser for us). She then asked me "we'll have you ever even eaten at my shop?" Ma'am what? Completely irrelevant as to why you're literally cancelling less than 48hrs before our event. Which by the way, I have no idea whether she was even planning to call or if she just wasn't going to show up? MANY players and parents were upset that the acai bowl truck was not in attendance, as it was advertised starting back in April when she committed. People were actually looking forward to this healthier option, and were very disappointed. Danielle had no reason to cancel, gave no actual reason other than "not wanting to compete with/take business away from" the other 2 food trucks. Well, even the other 2 food trucks thought it was ridiculous that she would cancel, especially so last minute. I'm left with an awful taste in my mouth from this experience with Danielle at Bee Bowl'd. Definitely think twice about supporting her "small local business" that clearly doesn't care about the commitments they make or disappointing hundreds of people from our community at our non-profit event Saturday! Not a good look, Danielle.

My go-to, however, is Amity! Unique to Amity are their single-origin beans roasted fresh in-house! The coffee and food are delicious! The drink and food menu is ample and offers a great variety of choices, including gluten-free treats and vegetarian foods. Best part - everything is made fresh in-house! Put these menu items on your must-try list: 1) Chocolate chip cookies - I've been on a hunt for the best chocolate chip cookie and Amity's is high up on the list 2) Cafe Nico - delicious hot or cold coffee made with fresh orange citrus zest 3) Hot ham and cheese sandwich and the quiches! Very good! 4) A scone with coffee/tea is always my go-to! Amity boasts a cozy place for the community to come together, for friends to catch-up over coffee, and for small businesses to meet and network together. The venue can also be rented out for private events! You can trust Amity with its clean eatery, a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for the entire family, great hospitality, and an overall good experience. Even though it looked busy, we were seated right away at the bar, which was nice. We kicked things off with mimosas. They give you a little bottle of champagne and a cup of OJ so you can mix it yourself. I ordered the Double Bacon Parmesan Hash from the seasonal menu. It had bacon, onions, spinach, mozzarella, potato hash, eggs, Parmesan cream, arugula, shaved Parmesan... basically everything delicious in one bowl. It really was so good, just a little oversalted for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. My husband got the cinnamon chip pancakes. They brought him two huge pancakes and he immediately realized he only needed one because they're BIG! He also mentioned his bacon was cooked perfectly: crispy without being burnt. Overall, we had a great first visit. The whole menu looked amazing and there were a few things I was torn between, so I'd definitely come back to try more.
