Just collected my skis and they look like new. Tim is an old world master craftsman who does a wonderful job at a fair price and on time. Sets bindings and tunes/waxes your skis and cares for your sticks with the care of a master mechanic servicing a passenger aircraft. Tell him that and watch him beam. A real guy in a corporate world. This is a cute tiny little shop in Millbrae. Tim and Joe were very helpful with the rentals. It was my first time snowboarding and they really made it easy for me with the fitting of the boots and choosing the right size of snowboard for me to use. Seeing that I was a petite girl carrying big and heavy snowboard equipment, Joe helped me and walked me to my car. When I returned the equipment they were so friendly and even asked me about my trip and if I had a fun time. This man is extremely rude, I tried speaking with him on the phone but he was super curt and it was just an overall terrible experience. He was unwilling to work with me and whenever I asked him a question he would say "goodbye" I am unsure what I did to make him upset but I will certainly not be renting or giving him my business. I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Seriously the best customer service I have ever experienced. I bought a full set of skis and boots here and the boots never really fit well. Tim allowed me to switch them out TWICE and even gave me some skiing tips about my form. If you are thinking of renting, buying, even getting those skis/boards waxed; this is THE place to go. Tim mounted my bindings, edged, and waxed my skis at the start of the epic 2016/2017 season. I have been very happy with them. Brought them into the shop to have them tuned today, but Tim was honest enough to say that he didn't think they needed tuning (just some wax). 5 stars for honesty and a job well done. Tim is amazing, I would definitely recommend this place! I brought him a new pair of skis that needed to be "new ski prepped" (bindings/din adjusted, waxed, and edged) and he turned it around in 24 hours and for a totally reasonable price (cheaper than you can get on the mountain for sure). I did not rent skis from him but based on how busy he was I'd say he's got a good reputation and all the equipment I saw was quality. Also, to the guy who gave 1 star for the store not opening until 4 pm, it says it right there on yelp/the whole internet that the store doesn't open unit 4. Not sure how you ding someone because you didn't look to see if the store was open before you drove 30 mi. I guess it's the same kind of guy who has a Che' Guevara pic as his avatar and then talks about the "serious cash" he's going to drop and how you shouldn't frequent a local business...SMH. read more

My wife and I were going to attempt a pretty beefy ski objective (skiing up and down Mt Baker in WA). The ski season hadn't been kind to our ski bases and edges, so I was worried that the skis wouldn't hold up to the task and I brought them here for a tune. Conditions were terrible -- the snow ranged from crud to slush to glacial ice with some whiteout clouds thrown into the mix -- but the skis performed phenomenally after Tim tuned them. I didn't ever have to think about whether the skis would do what I asked of them, leaving me to concentrate on things like navigation rather than worrying about whether I could actually edge on that blue ice ahead of me. Tim even stuck around after I picked up the skis to give me a quick tutorial on how I could do some of the tuning myself. Service here was an overall awesome experience that produced an excellent finished product. read more

Tim is awesome. I always bring my snowboard here everytime it needs a tuning or repair. I like this place because Tim will go the extra mile to get my board tuned and ready for riding. Sometimes I would bring it in last minute, grab a quick bite at Thai Stick (restaurant next door to Tim's shop), and pick up my board an hour later, and head to Lake Tahoe that same day. Small shop with great personalized and friendly service. I went here per a recommendation from Helm of Sun Valley as I was looking for used skis. Tim had the perfect pair for me, color and size-wise. He fit my boots to the bindings and gave the skis a good waxing. He had poles that went perfectly with the skis (because that's important lol) and had very reasonable priced carry bags for both my new skis and boots. I needed the skis for a trip to Tahoe the next day so he really came through for me. He was 3 for 3 in everything I needed! As I was leaving, 2 customers came in needing rentals for the next day so he has no problem for last minute needs. And Joe was really nice to talk with, and he even carried my skis to the car for me! pretty solid experience. the guy was friendly. since they are only open 4 hours a day, its pretty annoying. also, i assume it gets pretty busy because all i needed was my board to get a simple iron wax... he needed my board for 2 days. other than that, it was a pretty good service. price is average imho. read more

What a pleasant rental experience. First off Tim and Joe were extremely friendly and helpful right when my girl and I walked through the door. I haven't been snowboarding in a few years, actually it's been five years. Everything that I own besides my board are packed away in a storage unit. So I was without boots, pants and jacket (honestly though I have packed on quite some weight so my clothing probably doesn't even fit anymore). Tim had me setup in a matter of minutes with everything I would need. Pants/bib, snowboard boots and jacket all for $36 for three day/weekend rental. I was floored and couldn't believe how inexpensive it was, and the gear isn't crap either! Next time I need anything regarding my snow equipment this will be my first, last and only stop! Tim is excellent, a real straight-shooter. Prices are outstanding and way, way better than anything you will get at the resorts. I am a novice skier and rented skis, boots, and poles for a few days. I was a day late coming back and lost the poles, but Tim's late fee and pole replacement fee were extremely reasonable and generous for a dummy like me. In the future I will go here for everything ski-related; why go anywhere else? read more
