I'm an atheist, and my husband isn't far behind. They are NOT joking when they say it's a Christian ceremony. That being said, he read this incredibly heartfelt passage that was hand written in a journal that looked like it's been used since the dawn of time. Nothing about it felt casual, or like we showed up there in sweatpants and sandals. It was INCREDIBLE. I will be grateful to them for the rest of my life. I did not get to have the big beautiful wedding I've always dreamed of, but this *felt* like a wedding. It's decorated beautifully, we were treated with respect, and what he had written was breathtakingly intimate, in the sense of what being with someone for the rest of your life truly means.
