The guy doing the foot massage did not know how to do a proper foot massage and did not hit any of the pressure points. He just rubbed my foot up and down and didn't really even massage the bottom. Worst foot massage I have ever gotten. Told the lady at the front who just said "oh". Charged me 5% extra for using my credit card. Also, they have a sign that says they will give you a gift certificate if you give them a 5 star yelp review and show it to them. Hence the 5 star reviews. I decided to check this place out yesterday as I had some time to kill before I had an appointment in Bellevue. I opted for the second package on their menu, a 60 min body massage and 30 min foot massage. I received the foot massage first which was heavenly. I was then led into another small private room for the body massage. The beginning of the massage was once again amazing! However a few mins into the massage, the lady who was working on me got up and stood on my lower back/ kidney area and dug in her heels. I have never been in so much pain in my life! I told her that I didn't like that and the massage went on. I left especially sore after the session ended. This morning i woke up in horrible pain, and bruised all over my lower back were she stood. I ending up having to go into urgent care for the back and abdominal pain that I was experiencing because of this experience. I wasn't at all expecting to have to go on muscle relaxers and pain meds after a massage, especially from a place with 4 stars on yelp. I'm a huge fan of foot massages and this place is about as good as it gets in terms of quality and pricing. I've been to a few other places in Bellevue, but this is probably one of the favorite in terms of location, pricing and massage quality. First all, I don't drive and it helps that this place is right next to a RapidLine B stop. If you do drive, there's plenty of parking! I came here last Friday with a group of girlfriends, and every single one of them was impressed with the quality! We chose the 1 hour foot message for $30, which is really more like a 1 hour full-body massage! You're seated in a communal area with about 10 big,comfy massage chairs, but you still get sufficient space to make it your own private massage. They'll soak your feet in hot water while working on your scalp, neck and arms for the first 10 minutes before the actual foot massage. The technique is good with just the right amount of pressure to help relieve pain while not making you squirm. Tip here, they have both female and male masseurs. Do mention your preference while making a booking! The last 15-20 minutes of the massage is spent on your back (including your legs & butt). They will work your upper back and rub out all the knots especially in your shoulders! If you're not comfortable with them working your butt, please do let them know. But there is a massive trigger point in our buttcheeks, and I'm honestly thankful they work their magic on it. i would suggest going in comfy clothes (i.e. gym clothing) and wearing no makeup since they also massage your face and bring cash for tips! My favorite of the 4-5 reflexology/massage places that I've been to on the Eastside! The reflexology environment is relaxing - comfy chairs, no TV, but with gentle music playing. The normal 1hr foot massage includes a foot bath & reflexology, plus a dressed-in-chair body massage...what a deal for $30! But I usually go for the body massage - a bargain at $50/hr. Particularly the "Package #2" - 1 hr foot, 2 hrs body - a total of 3 hrs of work for $115!! Try that at Gene Juarez... These places usually have a language barrier issue - but where Mu Lan stands out is that the person at the front desk always has the necessary language skills. (Therapists, not so much, but that's ok.) The frequent visitor program is good too. I've already almost filled up my second card! I get great service as a regular too. I usually call in advance to ensure I get my favorite therapists, but generally walk-in appointments are available if you're not picky about who you get. read more

Love this place, parking is easy and it's simple to get to. 60 minute 'Foot massage' is $30 + tip ($10 is customary). They start with your head, arms/hands, feet then they flip you over to do your back and shoulders. You keep all your clothes on (excepts shoes) and it is in an open/public area. Absolutely the best two hours of my life. At the very least, of my month. I treated myself to this place on my birthday in May after finding them here, and I couldn't give any higher of a recommendation if I tried! The care and treatment was great and they really made me feel pampered. I'm an LMP so it was very interesting to experience the style. I even learned a few tricks that I just had to add to my massages! The reflexology was out of this world! He scrubbed the tips of my toes and I could feel the fascia above my brain just melt away. The first time I went I was a little skeptical about a "clothes on" massage in an open space -- but after experiencing it I was completely impressed and have been a repeat customer since. The place is open late, chairs are super comfy and they work hard to make sure you are relaxed. While the massages are always good... some of the workers are better than others as techniques and amount of pressure varies from each individual. Without a doubt, the best $30 spent in my life!!! I've wanted to get a Chinese foot massage for some time, and now I am quite upset at myself for not making an appointment at Mu Lan's sooner! Thanks to the other Yelp reviews, I gave Mu Lan a call this morning to schedule an appointment. Being on a Friday mid-morning, I got right in. To give you some sense on location, Mu Lan is in the strip mall that also houses the Macy's furniture gallery. The place is quite nice - some quiet music playing, dimmed lights, and comfortable massage recliners. There are also rooms for private massages. I chose the 60 minute foot massage, which was shown to be $30. Little did I know how much of a value that would be! As noted by some of the other reviewers, it's not just a foot massage - it's a foot and rest of the body massage. I was started out with a scalp, neck and shoulder massage, which was very good. Then the masseuse moved to the feet. I believe I was given a tour of Heaven for about 20 minutes! She also did my legs. Just when I thought I was finished (she asked me to get up), she then told me to lie on my stomach, and she massaged my back, shoulders and legs. I am thinking right about now that there might have been some confusion, and that I am now getting the premium full body massage, but at this point, I didn't care, it felt so good. Of course, what made this massage great was my masseuse, who was very skilled. She was a smaller woman, but she was definitely pretty strong, and she put her all into my massage. I'm a good tipper, as I appreciate good service, and by the time the massage was finished I was pretty much ready to sign the title of my car over to her; she was that good! The place is clean, nice and tidy. They always have openings, which is great for last minute requests. And they open late. I just left and I need to rave about this place! I got a full body massage and it was wonderful! The woman soaked my feet and massaged my head and neck. Then she gave me an amazing foot massage and then when I turned over she literally climbed on top of me and used her knees to massage my thighs, butt and back. Im an average sized female and it wasn't too much to handle even though I'm a wuss sometimes with deep tissue. It is unlike any full body massage I've had and it was so inexpensive! I am going to drive to Bellevue just for this in the future. The atmosphere was calm and quiet and the big squishy chair/tables they use are amazing! I want one for my house! the only bad thing about them is that their phone rings and its distracting, but if they put their phone on silent it would be perfect. I've been here a number of times and I keep coming back. I like the $30 hour foot massage which includes body as well (clothed). It starts with a 15 minute head, neck, shoulder and arm massage. Then a 35 minute foot and lower leg massage. Then a 10 minute back massage. The pressure is generally pretty strong, which I like. If you're looking for a flowing Swedish type massage, look elsewhere. I do agree that the foot massage portion could be better if they focused more on pressure points and used less lotion. It is however, very relaxing. In general, your massage will vary depending on who is doing it. Remember that if you are uncomfortable or in pain, always communicate that to the masseuse. Ask to apply more or less pressure when needed. They will understand. Don't feel like you have to suffer through something and be quiet. read more

(But it's an individual thing so sometimes you get an OK one but still I cannot complain). The lady at the front desk is super friendly and professional. The only thing that is a bummer is the price. Foot massage spas are cheap in comparison to the regular spa places but most of the foot massage places I've gone to are $25 for a foot massage but this place charges $30. I came here with my mom and it was absolutely incredible. I am SO impressed! Spa staff has excellent technique and is very professional. It is hard to find massage services in which your technician is able to accurately read your body, identify your stress points and modify pressure accordingly. I have been debating whether I should try this place or not because of the reviews, and nobody wants to spend time and money for bad massage. After weeks of 3+ hours of daily driving and working, I had to get massage. I had 30 mins chair massage because I had to go back to work and it was the best 30 dollars and 30 mins that I have spent for massage. If you are looking for European massage place, you are at the wrong place. I love accupressure type of massage when I am sore and my muscle groups are really tight, and I really had a great experience at this place. I've had about two dozen massages from this location. It's family owned and operated. The wife is nice to work with, but her husband is the asshole every other negative review on here is referring to. He's about 6'2" semi chubby build with glasses and shoulder length hair. I've also noticed from the reviews that most white ppl are completely oblivious to this guy's behavior....most likely writing it off as a difference of culture/language barrier....Allow myself along with most of the other Asian customers who understand this guy's antics to tell you that he is a grade A asshole...and quite honestly I don't consider his behavior any different than theft. If he's behind the desk, the moment you pay for the massage you are guaranteed to not be given any change whatsoever. He simply takes your money and sternly says "ok good night." It makes no difference how much cash you give him, he keeps it all and never bothers to offer change. He tries shooing you off in an attempt to keep all of your change as tip. He is deciding your tip for you. The change is not his to make this decision for you, but he does so anyway. He looks you dead in the eye like you're an idiot if you even attempt to ask him for change. It's quite pathetic since I have always tipped very well, between 30-40%. However, because of his behavior I've decided to stop coming here altogether. He will fool you into believing that he will simply hand the tip to the therapist on your behalf...Which is probably why most ppl think nothing of it. I know that's why I thought nothing of it the first several times he pulled this trick. On my final visit, I handed him cash and he took a 40% tip without bothering to give me change. I told him I wanted change and he simply stood up and walked to the back! What went through my mind in that moment....Ok Tay, you're higher than a kite and it's already near midnight. You were gonna give the therapist that 40% anyway and it's not worth the hassle....So I walked out the door. However, the accumulation made me annoyed enough to come back the next day to give him a piece of my mind. My therapist the night before was named Kevin. Kevin did not seem happy to see me again. I asked Kevin if he knew where the owner was. Kevin told me owner was not there and then reminded me that apparently I did not tip him last night.....That's right folks. The owner not only refused to give me my change and in essence stole my money, he also stole the tip from the therapist! No wonder they've had such a high turnover rate since opening. THE OWNER STEALS THEIR TIPS! It's pretty sad considering the therapists are actually some of the best in town. The price is also the best on the east side. Only lower price would be in Chinatown's Imperial Foot Massage @ 27 bucks.....I'm glad this page is claimed so I know the owner is reading this review. From what I've noticed, he is only there about a quarter of the time. So 3/4 of the time you can expect semi friendly service from the other staff....Probably why lots of these reviews are 4 or 5 stars. And a 30 dollar hour massage on the East side wouldn't conjure thoughts of pampering and ass kissing. Just continue frequenting this place til you run into this charming character though. There are male and female masseuses available at your request and they seem to be very clean and hygienic when it comes to the equipment and massage. The main room had about 20 chairs and it looked like they had private rooms in the back. We were there on a weekday morning so we had the place to ourselves. Did not mind being in the open at all. But if I were to come when there were lots of people around, my experience might be different. Service: The masseuse was friendly but did not speak English. She gave me a firm head, shoulder, and arm massage followed by a foot massage. I thought we were finished when she asked me to flip around to give me a full back and leg massage. I felt completely relaxed afterwards! I have had many massages in the past both at these reflexology places and at high end spas. Front desk was polite and professional, asking if a male masseuse would be okay. She also asked if there were any injuries or problems they needed to take into account (which is very considerate - some places just go for it). My masseuse was Michael and he did an excellent job! He would ask here and there if the amount of pressure was okay, and also worked on some noticeable kinks as opposed to just going through the motions.
