The food here is always good. However, just a few quality control issues could take it over the top. The homemade wraps are amazing. The bread that they make in house is pretty impressive. I just wish the filling was not so wet. Makes it almost impossible to pick up and eat as a wrap at times and sometimes the chicken is over cooked. Average 7/10. The homemade chips are killer, I'm addicted. The salads are great! I love the different options that they have and they also have "create your own" salad. Just a few adjustments and again, small details, could make it even better. Some of the the veggies especially the onions are way too big, would be way better thinly sliced. The burgers are epic. Always do see if you ask for medium you'll get medium!! They are so juicy and the brioche bun they use is not for the park. Perfectly chewy on the outside holds the burger together well and keeps the juices on the burger and not your clothes!! Unbelievably good!! Rates 11/10. The homemade bread bowls should be illegal. They're so good but not for those who are counting calories, and that Rates 9/10. Any pizza you order from here will not disappoint. The crust is always crispy and they have a huge selection of different pizza styles and toppings. The Hawaiian is my favorite tied with "the works" slice for #1. But they're all equally good. I didn't think you could fail at making zeppoles until I had these. I took one bite (if you call it that) and you couldn't even get my teeth all the way through. It was chewy and tough instead of being soft and doughy. On top of that, they were stingy with the powdered sugar. Tastes rubbery with zero flavor. So disappointed!!! read more

Good pizza! I remember ordering the grandma sicilian here and it was pretty good. I honestly don't really like sicilians but I do order them often for a few reasons: the quality of a sicilian indirectly is associated with the quality of the other food in the restaurant- mainly the new york style pizza that is popular around here. This pizza spot is pretty good, some new york style pizza and obviously sicilians. I haven't tried anything else on the menu but I'm sure that it is good, for a pizzeria joint. Entered this establishment for the 1st time since moving to Fords, NJ. Found it as I was driving home. Don't let the name trick you into thinking this is your standard mom and pop pizza place. I had a chicken parm sub. It wasn't your standard restaurant depo chicken cutlet. It was definitely more of a homemade grandma style. Sauce and cheese were just right and complemented the cutlet along with the semolina bread. Be warned when they say 15 mins for your food it's every bit of 15 mins but it's definitely worth the wait. read more

Ordered from this place a bunch of times since it's really close to me. Ordered a small plain pie yesterday and as usual they don't disappoint. The pie arrived a little sloppy but I'm think that was our Uber driver's doing (don't worry he'll get his review lol). Anyway, If we are talking taste, they make a pretty decent pie. Ordered a full ham submarine sandwich and a large pie. The sandwich was excellent, but I couldn't close the sandwich to eat it since it was layered up with everything and the outer crust of the bread was too hard and it would do a number on the roof of my mouth. Absolutely fantastic big fan. Often my company caters outside and goodfellows is a favorite among my colleagues. I stopped going here because the prices were high and the portions were smaller, pizza wasn't as good as before but a family member wanted to order Good Fellows so I said okay. The pizza was rubbery and we ordered buffalo wings. When it came we each had a wing and it had BBQ sauce on it. I immediately called and told them it was wrong, she got the manager and she said she would have them delivered, the bill was correct but not the item. When it was delivered, the guy said , " I have to bring the wings back as proof it was the wrong item", So they thought I lied to get another order? The wings ended up in the garbage because there was more breading than meat on them. I will never eat there again, it's a rip off. read more

There is nothing Italian about this place; It's all a facade from the "Brick-burning" pizza oven, which is nothing more than a stone propane oven that produces a gooey, doughy, soft, fat crust pizza, as reviewer Dwinel B, stated in his post. I ordered the "Scampi Frito Pico," which, in Italian, translates to nothing. But in Spanish, it means 'Hot Fried.' The server brought out a heaping mound of pasta that was so hot (Spicy), infused with so much Calabrian chile oil, that I guzzled down my Chianti after the first fork full to put out the fire on my pallet. I didn't even get to the shrimp because I needed help finding them in the bowl (Lack of presentation). There was nothing "Scampi' about this dish. The 'Four Cheese Garlic bread' was just backed pizza dough with melted cheese. I was looking forward to a nice crusty Italian bread from the city. The most notable thing about this restaurant is that when you pull into the parking lot and get out of your car, you expect to smell pizza and garlic; what is whiffed from the kitchen vents resembles what you expect from a fryer full of Kung Pao chicken in Chinatown. The bar atmosphere was pleasant, but the walls needed pictures of Italians (GoodFellas, Not Fellows (College Alumni), suggesting no famous Italians ever visited this off-the-grid restaurant. My advice to the owner... Please send your best chef off to Southern Italy for a month or two so that he can learn and experience what good, modern Italian food looks and tatstes like. read more

I have been going here for years and they never disappoint me. I have to tell you I feel Italian when I go here. The bread, tomato sauce, cannolis, mozzarella, potato chips etc. are homemade. Just ordered a roast beef and brown gravy with provolone cheese. My first time and not my last!!! The whole staff is always friendly and gracious even the delivery staff. Overall a decent slice, but when we ordered a pie it was barely ok (needed more sauce). Also nona fan of the wings or the parking lot. Staff is nice and pretty fast, if it is dinner time or a football game there will always be a long wait. Working in Edison (although from North NJ) and not liking Asian food is hard being that the majority of local places are Asian cuisine. Luckily, there's Goodfellows. This place stacks up to some of the best pizza places I've been to back in the Northern half of the state. Everything I've had here has been great. They have a huge specialty pizza case, with all sorts of different slices. They range from thick Sicilian style slices to thin crust. You may need a fork and knife to eat one of the Sicilian style slices, they are just that big and thick. A personal favorite is penne vodka slice. During the week (not sure about the weekends) they offer daily specials, with at least one wrap and sandwich. The wraps here are HUGE, but reasonably priced. I almost always opt for the wrap when they have a good one on special. You can easily save half of it for later in the day when you get hungry. read more

I've been ordering from Highland Pizza and Edison Pizza for a long time. I came across this restaurant through Door Dash and gave it a try with an order of a chicken parm hot sandwich and the specialty pizza. The sandwich was on a wonderful seeded long roll and the chicken was thick and well breaded like I rarely get from other places. Tonight I tried them again with an entree order of veal saltimboca and eggplant parm. Both entrees came with two fresh rolls and real shredded cheese in cups, not powdered cheese. The veal was generous and as soft as butter. The lemon sauce was out of this world with the perfect blend of garlic and butter and oil. My wife loved the eggplant and she is very fussy. Really did not love my experience with Good Fellows today. I got a veggie wrap and it was just really overly salty and soggy, I felt like I had just swallowed a spoonful of salt. They served it with these potato chips that were really bland and tasted stale. Easy online ordering. Fast delivery, and very friendly young girl dropping off our food on a late Friday evening. Food was well packaged and labeled. Italian sub -- Monstrous sub. Almost looked comically large when it was wrapped up. Generous with the meats. Actually tasted the olive oil/vinegar, as other restaurants always forgot to add that. Chicken Cesar wrap -- Huge wrap! But the wrap itself was way too thick. Did not feel like a tortilla wrap, too doughy, maybe pita bread? Cheeseburger deluxe -- Brioche bun is good, but the bun was way too thick and dense for the patty. Not my personal preference. Wasn't exactly cooked medium rare, more on the medium size. Plain personal pie -- Super bland pizza. Thin crust, mostly cheese, but that's really all you taste. Was so bland, could not tell if they even added a layer of sauce underneath. Chicken Parm/Spaghetti -- Simple but tasty. The chicken was breaded, but not deeply fried. Chicken pesto Panini -- was OK, grilled chicken was a bit dry but I was able to taste the pesto flavor. BBQ sweet chili wings -- chicken is crispy and fried perfectly, not greasy, oily or soggy, great crunchy bite. But the sauces were on the side. Got the BBQ, sweet chili, and a blue cheese dipping. Always clean and bright area. Staff is very helpful and anyone is willing to take and make your order. The bread is amazing and fresh and the cold cuts are top notch boars head. No problem in any customization of the sandwich. I have not had any dinners from there but they all come out looking good and fresh. Not a cheap place but you definitely get your moneys worth. The cashier had to run my card 3 times, then even though I showed them on my bank app that they already charged me, the manager on duty demanded to charge my card again before giving me my food. My husband and I stopped in tonight to order food to go. We got a pepperoni pizza and two sandwiches: the chicken conca d'oro and the veal parmigiana. My husband loved his veal sandwich and I felt the same way about the chicken. The food tastes so freshly made, and the bread really makes the sandwich. So fresh, topped with sesame seeds. The pepperoni pizza was excellent as well, with spicy pepperoni and so much cheese...the same amount of cheese that other pizzerias give you when you order "extra cheese". We are always happy with whatever we have ordered from Goodfellows. The staff was friendly and our food was prepared with not much of a wait at all. We highly recommend Goodfellows! read more

Food is delicious and that is why they get 3 stars. The staff on the other hand can use some work. They are not the friendliest. Also the prices are pretty much made up on the spot. One day we ordered two gluten free pizzas and it was 20.00 and then a couple days later ordered again and it was close to 27.00. When we asked the manager how could this be he stated it was a computer glitch. This has happened even with basic sub orders. It really varies on who is ringing you up I guess. The customer service leaves something to be desired. I asked for a cup of water and the lady behind the counter seemed very put upon. Without saying anything she took a cup, walked into the bathroom, door closed behind her and came back out with my cup of water. Ummm.... Now I understand that I asked for tap water but at least make an effort to go to a different sink rather than walk right into the bathroom in front of me. Greek salad: even though the raspberry vinaigrette was unforgivably sweet, the salad itself was fresh and delicious. You know your pizza delivery meal is bad when the salad is the highlight. Jalepeno poppers: decent! Jalapeños seem fresh, but the marinara is watery. Garlic knots: they were literally so GREASY that they were heavy! When I attempted to tear a piece off I ended Up with oil all over my hands and plate. Trust me, you don't want to eat bread with that much oil dripping from it. It was disgusting . Buffalo chicken pizza: I really wanted to give this a chance. But the chicken flavor was sweet and tasted previously frozen.. I just couldn't get past a slice, and even that , I regret. My family and I have been ordering from Goodfellows in Fords for a few years now. We considered it a good place even with it being pricey compared to other similar establishments. The service and food were always exceptional. You get what you pay for. Well recently the service has been subpar compared to what we are used to experiencing. We placed two separate orders for delivery and the first time the we were told about 40 minutes and waited over an hour for the wrong order to be delivered and the driver tried to give me the wrong order. I called the Fords location and spoke with the "manager" who said that I would get a $20 credit to the next order then sent the correct order that arrived cold. the next experience was just a few day later where it was just a simple plain cheese pie and a bottle of ginger ale...the pizza arrived, but not the beverage...again...I called the Fords location was offered an apology. Recommendation: You should never be too busy to make sure that customer delivery orders are accurate, an apology means nothing if it keeps happening. Going forward, we are least likely to order from this establishment. Maybe it is time to take a break or just make it myself. read more

1st of all, let me explain to you my constant issue I've had with this place. The people answering the phone are very rude, including the owner/manager. They rush you off the phone, countless times I've wasted my time and breath; I've asked them to repeat the orders and they still don't get it right. They overcharge you every time you order. I guarantee if you pull out the menu, add your items up and include tax, the price they give you is always more. Too over priced for mediocre food at most. Don't even bother ordering a cold sub; the bread they use is very stale and they swear to you it's fresh. It's straight up rubber. Save the trouble , order elsewhere and get your monies worth. I know when they opened they also owned Edison pizza. The owner Tom opened this place for his son. I don't believe his son owns it any more. The quality went down but the prices went up, A little pricey for pizza, I still will order from there but not as much. I think Edison pizza is still the best.
