I had my Mulholland gate for almost two years and recently the door was not closing properly. Ultra-expensive with extremely poor service. Approx 20 months ago I had more than five visits to install a fairly straightforward fence with 4 gates. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The issues seemed to be poor communication between the various groups within Mulholland so the parts didnt match the measurements, etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After meetings with multiple installers we were able to get the fence to work but began to notice rust on all of the closers, delamination of paint from one of the handles (appears to have been painted and not powder coated like the others), and corrosion on all of the gate locks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Over the past 4 months I have had 4 different Mulholland reps come and take photos and promise responses. All agreed that the amount of deterioration was beyond acceptable but there was no follow-up[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. After many, many follow-up calls, I was able to speak with a Mulholland person who referred me to the warranty that covers for 3 years the aluminum slats, posts for rust but only 1 year for all other components. The charge for any replacement of rusted parts was approx 4x the part cost on Amazon and Mulholland insisted on adding several hundred dollars for a site visit. Never thought such an expensive fence could have such a short life but I guess Mulholland taught me differently. Think carefully before making purchase about the warranty and hoping you find their service worthy of the price. read more

Worst experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Josh Brady our sales rep should not be in this business. He not only ordered the wrong gate for us and didn't own up to it, he didn't returned our calls to discuss it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] His boss got involved and was very rude and unprofessional on the phone with us about it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were not willing to work with us at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Somebody measured incorrectly and the gate did not fit. It Had to be remade and the new one didn't fit either. The gate had to be remade a third time. We had to wait 4 months for this whole mess to finally be over. Mulholland did our gate and small fence sections. Only took about 6 weeks to custom make the pieces and install took just a couple of hours. The installation crew was excellent. They removed the old fence/gate including a fence post that was buried about 18" in our walkway. Once removed it was replaced by their aluminum post and cemented in place. Looks great and the design matches our T-111 siding. read more

I'm updating my review. We've had nothing but problems with these gates since day 1. The gates don't stay closed and they charge $450 to come out. The quality of the gate itself is fine but the installation is terrible. The special digital locks they sell don't hold a battery charge for very long and in the past water has gotten in and rusted the inside. I'm writing this updated review because they charge way too much for fixing. The gates alone are thousands of dollars. If installed correctly you shouldn't need someone to come out. read more

I had a large area with privacy fence toppers, pool equipment enclosure and a side gate all installed at my home by Mulholland and was left very happy. The quote process was very easy and once I approved I got on the schedule within a few weeks. The quality of the material and the craftsmanship was above average. They ended up having two different locks for the pool equipment and side gate and let me know to call back to get that fixed but I keep forgetting to. If I were to rate this review for the quality of the Mulholland Brand product, it'd be a five. Unfortunately, to get the product, you have to go through sales, measurements, and installation. Those scores would all be in the negative. WAY negative. A neighbor who happens to be a contractor recently had these gates installed. They looked stellar, so I asked him where he got them - and he gave me the Mulholland name and contact - with the caveat that the company is "very difficult to work with" (THAT is putting it mildly). I met with the sales rep, who took a chunk of my money to get the order started. He then gave me a date for measurements. That date went right on by - I called the next day, and was told the appointment had been cancelled (nice to let the customer know....cough). We rescheduled. THAT date went sliding by. We rescheduled once again, and that person did actually show up. Over an hour outside the window, but still, count it as a win. He did his measurements, found an error in the sales quote, and took more money from me (I'm now in for 90% of the total payment, with nothing to show for it). He then scheduled me for installation. Guess what? That date slid right on by. I called in, and was told - yep, cancelled. I rescheduled yet again - and yet another no show (although this time I did get a text stating there was a chance of rain, so the installer bailed). I called yet AGAIN, got a new date - and hey....someone showed up to install! Of course, you know it can't end here - nope - at the end of the day, they asked me where I wanted them to put the old gates. WTF? We're talking almost $15k for new gates, and they aren't hauling away the old ones? This is a total scam. I ended up paying the installers $100 cash to take them (I suspect this is a total side gig for these guys). But.....no, there's one final customer service experience. I received an email from accounting requesting the final 10% payment. Now, one would think it would start with "thank you for being a customer, we hope you're enjoying your gates", etc. Nope. This is a direct copy and paste from the email - and I'm not kidding: "Subject: Final Payment Reminder! - Attempt 1 Please note, we will make up to three attempts to collect payment over the next 15 days. After that, if payment has not been received, we will need to defer to collections. Additionally, please be aware that the warranty for the project will only be activated once payment has been completed in full." So yeah....great product, hands down worst customer service experience, start to finish, that I've dealt with. I talked with my neighbor again - he agreed, and said he loves his gates, but there's no way he'd recommend them professionally, as it's his brand rep that he has to protect. Spot. On. So to sum it up - GREAT product. But the customer experience isn't worth it. I generously gave a two as I leaned towards the product quality. read more

From start to finish, Mulholland Brand did not disappoint. The technicians were professional, informative and never pushy. Communication is top notch, with emails and text messages. I was never surprised by a visit or cancellation. The installation was swift and done correctly the first time. I had a couple concerns with the lock and one of the panels, but that was quickly resolved. The only thing I'm not 100 percent please with is the lock. It doesn't remember fingerprints, it seems to fail in extreme heat, and the touchpad is frustrating. However I was reassured that they are in the process of getting upgraded /better ones and that they would replace mine then. I trust their word because they're just that kind of company-trustworthy! All that said, I feel like I got my moneys worth. No regrets. I get lots of compliments and it brought my curb appeal up several degrees! read more

I spent a year looking for different types fences and gates for our house. We wanted a product that will last a long time. I found Mulholland Brand Fences and Gates through my Google search. I watched the process how they take the commercial grade aluminum and powder coat it and bake it. Everything is done in house. There's no subbing to a contractor for the work. I called and arranged a time for one of their area sales manager to come out. Kevin was on time and explained the product and benefits. He brought samples and we decided on the Profile 24 vertical fence in green and the horizontal for the gates. Next phase was an appointment with the project manager. Ran came out to do the final measurements and how the doors will open. He told us the fence will step down because the downward slope of our property. There will just a small gap on the bottom. Now that the fence is done, he's right. He called it in and scheduled the installation date. In two weeks our fence and gates were installed. The team of Paske and Juan did an excellent job. He are very happy with our gates and fence. We got the AlumaLock which allows us to use fingerprint, key fob and pass code to unlock. We can also schedule a certain time of the day to automatically unlock for our gardener to come in. We have a product that will last for years and require no maintenance.
