It's hard to know who to trust these days, but I had a feeling I could trust Mulligan, and I went with that feeling. I forewarned the sales rep, George Herman that I didn't want to be "sold" anything. I wanted the facts and I wanted a price. And he delivered. I was very impressed. He sensed how I wanted to be treated, and he treated me that way. He made it very easy and clear for me and my wife to make decisions, and there was absolutely no pressure. Frankly, I was kind of amazed, things being the way they are in the world these days. And Mulligan delivered. They did what they said they were going to do, and they did it right, and they did it in a timely fashion. We now have a gorgeous new roof, and they got it in for us before winter. I couldn't give them less than that unless yelp offered a negative star category. Years ago we did all our upstairs windows, kitchen window, bath window and garden window. They must have had different people running the company then. Our garden window, which was a fair amount of money has a broken seal. It's warrantied for the life of the window. we requested someone come out and fix it, in the beginning of this year. Dan came out, took measurements, don't know why, it's their window, they should know since they installed it. Requested $95.00 for the drive to our home, apparently a new "policy" for gas, which is less than 3 miles away. We have been calling them regularly since March. EVERY TIME AN EXCUSE OF SOME SORT!!!! I finally gave up and just said I want my money back and want nothing to do with your company anymore. I am still waiting for MADGE to call me, since it's been over two weeks and no refund. Please, save yourself some time and look elsewhere. This place did a complete subpar job of installing my windows. I have had to redo trim around a few of my windows as they destroyed what was there previously. A few of the windows got spray foam on the inside and decided to try and cover it with caulk. It honestly looks like someone with little to no experience installed my windows. My patio door wall is completely out of square and does not seal correctly. It rubs on against the door stop when I try and close it. And the kicker is that I have been trying to get them to come out to fix some of these issues for months and they either do not show up or do not call me back. read more

Horrible place to deal with! Been trying for 2 years since they installed a roof on my 90 yr old father's roof, to get them to come out and fix a bad leak. 1 time last summer a guy did come out, said couldn't fix it that the company would have to send someone else. After numerous calls and promises broken still not fixed! Every time it rains the ceiling in the bedroom where the leak is as gets wet and makes it a little worse each time. He's 90! In 2009 Mulligans replaced my siding and did a wonderful job. Over the past few years one area around the garage door has been degrading for some reason. I called in August and on Sept 26th they came out to assess. I was told the degradation "should not have happened", it would be easy to fix but that it might be "a few weeks" because they were busy. At that time I was not in a hurry. However it has not been 12 weeks since this assessment. I have called no less than 17 times. I stressed that we are selling the house and need this repaired ASAP. Each time I am given an apology, told that my paperwork/order is on the installation managers desk etc. I have left messages for Madge Porter to no avail. On Dec 7th I was told the work would be completed the week of Dec 11-15 she just could not give me anything more specific. The work was not done. Today, Dec 19th, I called again. I was told that the installation manager is now out of the office until after Jan 1. I left Madge a message and was told she will be in the office tomorrow. I have been MORE than patient. We have been using Mulligan for over twenty years - multiple houses with siding, windows and my parents have used them as well. Recently (in the last year) they are not responding to repair calls in a timely manner and standing by their work. The siding on my garage and house trim started peeling (over six months ago is when I called???) and I am STILL WAITING for a repair, meanwhile the front of our house is looking terrible. I have lost track of the number of times I have called. I keep being asked to give them patience, I feel I've done more than that. I did receive a call a week or two ago in response to my call, problem was they had me down as new service - which ALL of my messages clearly stated I was calling for a repair - and that someone from service will call. Hired them to replace my gutters, gave a deposit in May and the work wasn't completed until October. 18 months later I noticed a problem with my roof due to the gutters hung too low. I called the company 4-5 times to schedule someone to come look at my roof and gutters. Spoke to the receptionist each time but no one called back to schedule an appointment. I called again and asked to speak to someone else, they gave me an email address to a manager. They never returned my email. I sent them photos of my roof and gutters, NO RESPONSE. The worst ever. It's been over 20 years since they did our windows and it still irks me when I see their name. Our windows leaked. They sent a man out that was too old to climb a ladder so he didn't even look at the outside. Said he would send someone else. Never did. We tried and tried to get it taken care and they just blew us off. Bit that felt good to get off my chest. Stay away from this company I am adding on to this since I can't reply to your comment. It WAS an old man who came out. he did nothing and said he would send some back. He didn't. My husband called many times and you blew us off. We no longer live there, even if we did I would not want you out. We just got new window's at our house through Adkins & Sons and couldn't be happier. We have used Mulligan several times over the years for windows, gutter guards, front door, and shutters. They have always done a great job for us. This year has been a bit trying with Covid and all, but Mulligan worked with us and the job got done. We all just need a bit of patience now and need to realize that it is not business as usual quite yet. Everything is taking a bit longer and availability can be an issue. Sonny always takes great care of us and makes sure the job gets done right. The crew is professional, polite and cleans up the site very well. They even noticed the screen on our front door was broken (2 dogs and paws make for broken screens on occasion). They took the door down, took it back to their shop and reinstalled the next day - we were not even around when they put it back. That is going above and beyond. Had trim work done with Mulligan. A week after the job had been completed a piece of the trim had broken off. After multiple phone calls, they sent a contractor over months later which he installed a different color trim which looks even worse. They installed our roof about 10 years ago. We've had to have it repaired about 5 times since. Shingles keep sliding off. We never asked Mulligan to do the repairs because they were so unpleasant to deal with the first time around. Save yourself a headache and hire someone else. read more

I have been doing business with Mulligan for 20 years. In 2004, they installed my vinyl siding, gutters, and downspouts, new porch posts about 10 years ago and now gutter guards this past winter. They have also quoted other jobs for me. In March, after the installation of the gutter guards, I began to notice paint peeling in my family room at the ceiling line and soffit. I then noticed water dripping from the soffits in mid-August after some major downpours. I immediately thought that I had a roof leak and proceeded to call my roofing contractor that installed my roof in 2017. He was out immediately to inspect the roof and diagnose the problem. He took pictures of the water intrusion. After review, the pictures clearly show that gutter guard installation pulled the roof drip edge away from the house causing water to enter behind my vinyl siding down to the family room. I allowed my roofing contractor to fix the problem since more rain was forecasted. I immediately called Mulligan and Bill finally made it out to my house on Sept 12. Bill seemed reluctant to view the pictures of the problem. I even showed him the ceiling and wall damage in my family room. His report back from what I understand was that the installation was OK!!! The gutter guard installation was definitely NOT OK because I wouldn't had the water intrusion that I had into my house. I have been calling for the past 3 weeks and I still haven't spoken to an employee that knows the issue or wants to discuss what they found . All I want is a call back from Bill or Craig explaining to me what Bill found to be the problem and discuss reimbursement for the fix that the gutter guard installation caused. Based on other reviews, this situation appears to be a common problem amongst other customers. Mulligan's quality in the past has been very good. It is too sad to think that they have been so professional in the past even so far as to call me once a year to ask if I was in need of their services to not even returning a phone call to explain what they found. When a customer pays for home improvements, they expect improvements NOT more repairs. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. I hired this company to replace my roof. I had to put a down payment of $1,700.00 just to get them to schedule an appointment, which they didn't at the time of my payment. I was told they would be able to do the roof in three weeks time. On the third week, I still hadn't even heard from them to set up a day to which they would come to the house, yes they told me it would only take one day to do my roof. I had to contact my sales guy to find out what was going on. He was able to get it scheduled for the following week on Monday. The roofing crew was to be there at 8 am. I took the day off as I'm not comfortable with anyone I don't know being at my house without the ability to at least drive by. At 8:40 am, the contractor called and told me that he was unable to get his truck started and would need to reschedule. Frustrating, but not the end of the world. He rescheduled it for the next day, Tuesday, at 8:00 am. Again, I took the day off. I did some errands in the morning. When I came back to the house, no one was there nor had anything been done to my house. I was infuriated. Called the company to find out what was going on. They placed calls to the contractor and even they couldn't find him. I get a call from my salesman that night stating they had finally talked to him and he would be there tomorrow to do the job. I had to go back to work, so I asked if my dad would drive by as this company obviously needs a babysitter for their contractors. I get a call from my dad Wednesday afternoon telling me that again no one was at the house again, but a little bit of work had been done. My dad left and went back later where he found out that there was only one guy on my roof to do a tear off and reshingle job. There was one female on the ground doing clean up. Needless to say, he obviously didn't get it done that day or anywhere close. By this time, I was so over the company I just had to bide my time until I could be done with them. The contractor finally finished my roof late Thursday afternoon. My neighbors asked me if the guy who was doing my roof was insured. I said yes he works for Mulligans. I was told that there was several times that day that he female counterpart had left the job site leaving the guy on the roof alone with no one around. I'm sure that has got to be against the safety rules and regulations for licensed and insured companies. I get a phone call from Mulligans on Friday asking for final payment. I told them no until I talked to someone regarding the horrible experience. Talked to the salesman and he only offered $100 off the job. I then went to his manager, who I believe was Cory. Cory was rude and condescending and had the nerve to call me spiteful because I told him I was going to give Mulligans the worst review on every single site possible. He only offered me $300 off the price. I decided to take that even though it wasn't near enough for everything that happened. I agreed to come in and pay the remaining $3000 on Monday only if after I inspect everything and find that it was done to my satisfaction. I get up on Saturday morning to look at my roof in detail and find that my gutter guards were gone. Are you freaking kidding me was my thought. I texted the salesman telling him my gutter guards were missing. Either they find them and put them back on or buy me new ones and put them back on. He asked me what kind they were and after that I didn't hear anything from him. Monday I decided that my dad and I would go to the office and speak to them face to face. I told the female employee that I was only going to pay $2000 towards the balance owing until my gutter guards were back on my house. It took them over a week to get back to my house and put them back on. Obviously this company is not one that I would ever use again. Nor will any of my family or friends after my experience. VERY UNHAPPY. Mulligan isn't done with the job yet, and we're already very sorry we chose them: Price was not our deciding factor as they were all competitive, and Mulligan wasn't the lowest. For us it was timing. George, the salesman, PROMISED us the job would be complete before a large party we were going to have at our house. He said it was no problem, especially because of how far in advance we signed the deal. The installers (only two guys) do very nice work, but nice work takes time, and given how late they started the job it's unlikely they'll get the job done on time. We have expressed our concerns several times to George and he makes apologies and promises, and when I spoke to him yesterday he said he was throwing extra guys at it, and that he thought he could get the whole job done in time. It's past noon on Saturday before the party and it's the same two guys. No other crew have shown up. I'm pretty sure once it's done it will be nice work, but given the importance of the timing and how very clearly it was communicated to George, and how adamantly he promised us he could make the deadline no problem, I have to give them only 1 star, and say I would not recommend Mulligan. read more

My wife & I ordered windows from Mulligan last Summer. We had a picture window & two double hungs plus another window for the garage installed. It took a couple weeks longer than we were told...they said that their supplier (Slocum) was backed up. OK - I can live with that. This Spring my wife noticed that one of the double hungs had a big crack in it. It was well under a year since installation. I called & was put in touch with their "service" department where I was told that sometimes there is a bad seal with the window or the glass is weak when they install it. Dan in service dept. tells me that they need to come to measure the glass. He said that they didn't have any crews in my area that week, but they were around my area all the time (Berkley) and that he would keep an eye on the schedule & reach out to me when they had a crew in my area. No problem - I understood....I'm easy to get along with. I didn't need it fixed that week. This was in May, 2018. A month later when I hadn't heard from Dan or anyone else I began to call & leave messages. After two weeks and multiple messages I was finally able to reach Dan who told me: "Yeah - we've got you scheduled for next Monday. But I've got a meeting in the morning & can't get by until closer to 10:00". So, I had to take time off from work to wait for the guy to come measure. OK. Fine. I'm understanding & easy to get along with. Guy comes over that morning & measures. He tells me that it should be about 10 days to 2 weeks to fill the glass order & they'd call when it was in. About 2 weeks or so later another guy calls me & says that they've received the measurements for the replacement glass and that it would be about two weeks. I told him what I was told when the guy came to measure: 10 days to two weeks - two weeks ago. He seemed annoyed and said that it would be about two weeks and they would contact me when it was in. That was over five weeks ago. It is now September and I have yet to hear from anyone @ Mulligan. I still have cracked glass in my new window that I paid good money for last year. My advice: Mulligan's windows are OK, I guess. But you can get windows from anyone in town. But if you need any kind of service after the installation - good luck! We had two pieces of siding come off and called this company 6 times to come make repairs. As with most contractors now a days, customer warranty service, is no longer a priority and certainly a mark of their business quality. After all of the calls, three siders finally showed up, and the job they did was something this or any company should be ashamed of. But enough about the actual repairs. I want to know what has happened to this company. Over the last ten years we have had over 20000 in work done by Mulligan. Siding twice, a 6 foot and 2 9 foot doorwalls. Our salesperson Jack Ternig ran and supervised the jobs and when I say ran and supervised the jobs, he ran and supervised the jobs. He sent quality craftsman that had respect for us and our property. He sent craftsman that were clean, respectful, timely and did what they say they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. In the past we selected Mulligan based upon quality reviews that we read on this site and others. And at the time it was a good choice and the right choice. However since that time we have observed two instances that tells me that even though I need a large window replaced, Mulligan will not be my contractor choice. First is a neighbor that had his siding done two years ago. The crew that showed up were the most classless group I have ever seen. Foul language durign the day, trash left about the property after they left, they left all of their siding equipment on the property owners front lawn at night. (Yes there are little kids in this neighborhood that could get hurt on this equipment.). My neighbor across the street needs siding and in talking with him the other day he stated he would never use Mulligan as he saw this disprespect for the property owner as well. And then there is our incident today. They simply had to replace two pieces of trim. It took six calls to get them here and twice they didn't show up when they said they would. And when they did the job today, the results were terrible. Simply a classless and lazy performance that wasn't the Mulligan that I knew. We hired this company several years ago to redo some siding on the house. After the job was complete, we noticed several mistakes that had been made. Calls were made to customer service but no answer, so we went directly to their office. We told them about two issues that we had. One was that the siding was loose on the side of the house. The second issue was regarding the color of the panels they attached surrounding some of the windows. They had used incorrect siding colors and to this day, have not come out to fix it. We have tried emailing this company several times but no response. Would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

They say the siding and trim is guaranteed for life. couple years after they installed the siding and trim on my house, a piece of siding fell down. took them 6 months to replace. One piece of the trim fell about 4 months ago. The wood behind it was all rotted because they did not seal it. After over 50 phone calls, they just replaced the trim and refused to replace the wood. Left the service manager multiple voicemails with no response. After they get paid for the job, they don't care about the customer. I don't know how long they will remain in business. All Mulligan has done so far is provided an estimate, took a deposit for the work to be done and given us the runaround. What they were supposed to do is remove a crumbling driveway and repour it. My husband used Mulligan in the past for some work at his home. At the end of May, I was in the process of getting estimates to have the driveway repoured. I just happened to see "Mulligan Construction" come up on the caller ID so I answered. They wanted to know if there was anything we needed done, so I had them come out to give us an estimate on the concrete work. At that time of year, getting anyone to come out for a concrete estimate was a challenge. Several companies I called never called back or when I did get a hold of them, said they were out of our service area. We managed to get three estimates. Mulligan was the lowest-priced one. Since my husband is planning to put the house on the market, he decided to go with Mulligan due to cost and because they had done work for him before. When Bob came to take the deposit, he told him they might even be able to get the job done that week. That was on 6/23. As of 8/8, no work had been done. I called and talked to Carmen, who checked with Bob. There was a crew finishing up a job in our area, and they may be able to start breaking up the old concrete on 8/8. As of the morning of 8/20, still no work done. I called and talked to Pam. She was going to check on the status of our job and get back to me as soon as possible. Pam never called back. A couple weeks later, Tony, the crew chief, came to the house on a Saturday to look at the driveway. He told my husband it would be a quick job, and he would get started the upcoming week. Didn't happen. My husband reached out to Tony again, who said he would definitely start the tear out on 9/19 or 9/20. That didn't happen, either. My husband talked to Tony, and I talked to Madge on 9/23. Tony told my husband we are "next on the list," and the job will be started 9/24. Of course, we're skeptical. The driveway is now the LAST thing we need done before we can put the house on the market--so much time has passed that all the other repairs, upgrades and cleaning are now done. Update as of 10/6: The driveway is still not done, or even started, but I have a funny story to add. (Not "ha ha" funny, but "are you $&%@ing kidding me" funny.) My husband answered a knock at the door one day last week. The guy says that he's doing some work in our neighborhood and asks if there is anything we need to have done. BEWARE of the warranties Mulligan provides. They don't honor them. We are being ignored. While cleaning the gutters, we found that roof shingles and other materials had separated and raised up from the corner over the deck, along the roof line/rafters, leaving a large hole; also we found a piece of shingle, on the ground, near the front yard. We don't know the extent of the problem and these might not be all inclusive to the damage on the roof. We have called more than once and sent written communication to no avail. The contacts have meant nothing to Mulligan. This has caused us unnecessary aggravation and frustration. With the amount of rain and winds we have had over the past several weeks, we constantly worry about rain damage, including mold/mildew, to the inside of the property and even more roof damage; furthermore the critters/pests can access the attic through the identified opening causing more damage. Mulligan is not honoring its warranty, respecting us as a customer or accepting the work or us as a priority or consideration. Upset, worried and frustrated! Had we wanted to deal with this type of situation, we would have had the old roof repaired and not gotten a complete tear-off. read more

We had all our windows replaced in our home by Mulligan Windows. They installed one window crooked, and at this time, a different window has been leaking probably since installation. We noticed that the seat on our bow window was discolored, this is when all the true colors of the management, care, concern, customer service etc. showed up. This company has no concern for their customers, no sense of responsibility and actually probably laughs at the number of calls and visits my husband and myself make. We also have windows that on the outside, the finish is peeling off, They handed us a nail polish bottle and said this should fix it. The finish is wood grain, This won't fix the problem. And why do I have to fix their problem? I have talked to everyone in this company. Bob, Cory, Dan and there is no resolution to a 2 year old problem. Come on guys, and girls, the window needs replacing!!!!! I'm afraid of mold, because you are just not taking care of wood rotting in my home. Let alone the heating and cooling efficiency. Why do I have more serious medical issues and have higher heating and cooling bills and loss of sleep since we have come in contact with your company and your products. Just as a side note, my friend had work done to her home and she couldn't live in it for 2 years!! Long story short my roof is less than 3 years old. I paid for a full tear down replacement of any bad boards, roof and gutters. I know have a ceiling caving in due to a problem with my roof. I have a home owners claim and check, a drywall contractor set to go, ready to fix the interior of my house only problem....the roof has to be fixed first. Started contacting Mulligans in Dec 2014, here I am in March with pots, pans, and towels all over my kitchen and dining room. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE. They sent a repair guy out who SMOKED A JOINT IN MY DRIVEWAY!!!! I finally have filed a complaint with the attorney general and contacted a lawyer. SO now that I have taken these steps Bob calls me and wants to come out to my home today and INSISTS on bringing Richard with him...Richard being the employee who got high in my driveway! I told him absolutely not! That I did not want Richard back at my home! Bob then proceeds to start screaming at me over the phone that I am lying and that Richard did not get high in my driveway. All in all from a job satisfaction level and support level they did fine for installation. I had gutters, siding and a new roof done about 10 years ago. This company falls flat on its face when it comes to service. You can call service and get it on there list, but you have to wait for ever to get it done. It took me 4 to 6 weeks the last three times I needed service on my roof. For three years now, the shingles just fall off and slide down the roof. I call repeatedly to get them re-installed and it takes forever. I ended up calling and texting my sales person, George H, but he finally got fed up with the calls/texts and just blew me off by giving me the owners phone number. I guess this quote on their website about George H. does not apply -"client's comfort level is always met." Yeah right. I called the owner to set up a meeting to find out what to do about the problem and to investigate who was at fault as my 10 year labor guarantee is up this month. No call back. I feel it is there operating mode to avoid call, not be in the office and not to return calls just to see if you will just go away. They have a A+ BBB rating, but I can not understand why. I filed a complaint with the BBB and so far they are blowing me off too. I guess the only avenue to resolve my issues is contacting the Michigan Attorney General and file a complaint. read more

All in all from a job satisfaction level and support level they did fine. The salesman did a good job and truly seems to have concern for his customer's needs. The crew (my crew leader was Tom) and I would not ask for anyone else. He did a good job and was also truly concerned about me the customer. One of his helpers was not so concerned. There were a few mishaps on the job and either the salesman or the crew leader always offered to fix whatever it was. As a matter of fact the crew leader did such a good job I gave him what I thought was a healthy tip upon completion. Now with all that said there were a few items that needed to be reconciled and this took several months. That is not the bad part. The bad part is I sent two to three letters to the PRESIDENT of the company and he just blew me off. NOT one response. To me that show me he does not care about his customers. I too run a multimillion dollar company actually an international company and no matter if a large automotive company has a problem or one of my smaller customers that only purchase 1-2K of product a year, I treat them both the same with respect! So take this for what it is your choice. read more

Horrible company. They did the trim on my house and it didn't last a year. They hung a gutter with the slope going away from the downspout. They covered the soffit vents with new trim without re-cutting new holes. Then they put vent screens over the covered hles so I wouldn't see it. read more

I had 4 windows installed. The sales guy was initially awesome. That did not last. I told the guy husband and I knew nothing about windows. We have all wood swing out windows. Sales guy said his windows would look the same on the inside as what I had.... No. The installers were great. However they had to put a piece of trim that was not stained at all!! Really I pay all that money for windows and the don't look how we discussed. The salesperson then comes out to stain the trim. He did all windows all very sloppy, let the stain drip, used a brush instead of rag , doesn't know how to tape... Then after 2 coats I realize he has been using the wrong color stain!!!! How stupid can you be!! I tell him that he says " that's the color they gave me" He could have just looked for himself. He left but not after banging my wood molded doors with his ladder. He says he'll call me back with color...been 3 weeks still haven't. Called management they don't give a crap. Called 4 times... DONT USE THEM A+ BBB rating my butt!!! read more
