I am 73 years old. I was first in line at Good Sam on Wednesday Jan 1, 2025. I had been ill at home since Dec 28, 2024. I realized on Dec 31st that I had pneumonia so made an appointment for urgent care on Jan 1st at 11 AM so I could get antibiotics to treat it. So hubby and I arrived at Urgent Care at 11 and he wheeled me in with a wheelchair. Receptionist took one look at me and I was promptly in the back. My oxygen level was 70. They put me on oxygen and called 911. I was transported by Medic One to Good Sam. During the ride they put in an IV, pushed steroids and various other drugs and gave me albuterol through a nebulizer. I arrived at Good Sam and was first in line because I had sepsis, pneumonia and respiratory failure. I was treated aggressively for two hours in the ER because I came "this close" to dying on Jan 1. That afternoon I got a room in the ICU and thankfully I did recover and came home the evening of Sunday Jan 5th. I am now on oxygen 24/7 but I am still alive. For me this is a year and a half that almost wasn't. I must add that during my 4 day stay I did encounter some problems. The doctor wanted a lung cat scan before I could be released. Saturday late morning I got a text message on my phone regarding my "outpatient" cat scan at 3 PM that afternoon. I called the lab and they said it had been set up as outpatient. I summoned the nurse and informed him of the appointment so that I could be escorted up there. I was in a "frail condition" and had a "fall risk" so I had to ring the nurse when I needed the bathroom. It took forever for a response to the call button. On my last morning I would press the call button, wait a few minutes and when they didn't arrive I would stand up beside the bed. The alarm would bring the nurse running. Saturday afternoon I was moved to a two patient room and we were polar opposites as to our habits and lifestyles. I was still receiving medications and vitals checks every two hours so sleeping was pretty much impossible. In addition I cannot be in the dark EVER because of childhood traumas (whole other story) while my roommate complained about the light and the noise all night long. At one point while the nurse was treating me I loudly told the complainer "I am trying to keep breathing over here". Throughout my stay I had food trays arrive with food items missing and not replaced. I was on steroids so I had to be on insulin because of blood sugar levels. A a result my diet was a diabetic diet which meant very restricted intake of many items. So when items were missing it was a big disappointment. The longer I was there the hangrier I got. But like I said, I did come home on Sunday Jan 5th 2025. But I almost didn't. The doctors at Good Sam hospital saved my life on January 1, 2025 and I will be forever grateful. read more

My husband was brought here for a specified treatment for a few days. We got situated in a shared room. The first few days the communication between thr nurses was so mismatched. While waiting for a room he got 5 stickers attached to his chest and stomach and when we got into the room the staff never needed to use them. Then when the new nurses needed blood, one nurses proceeded to talk badly about how the nurses in Emergency always take the good veins and they never care. From the lack of communication between medical staff, a mislabeled sign at the door, there was the fact that they kept the door open and continued to have conversations right outside the patient's rooms while charging their cellphones against the wall. It was hard for a few patients to sleep with the conversations right outside their doors. What I did find out that was nice. Night shift was nicer, cafeteria staff were always smiling, and the public bathrooms were cleaned. What I wished was different: daily checks on the patients, clean patient robes, change pillow cases when people sweat through, more awareness on areas of pain and some patience and grace with treatment. Also maybe learn to close the doors better. Either way, this place need to change. I used to go to St. Joe's for my mom and they were all so diligent with her care. I had to take my husband to the ER last night, and the RN, Maxwell, went above and beyond to take care of Greg, and he even brought me coffee and Ice water and, my husband told him that we hadn't eaten anything, and that he was hungry, but he wouldn't eat without me being able to eat as well. Max put each of us a complete Lean Cuisine roasted chicken with red roasted potatoes and broccoli and red peppers and mushrooms in a fire roasted chicken sauce. It was a complete meal. The ER got slammed, and Max got pulled into two or three other rooms, our males have been heated, but he refused to let them bring those to us and threw them away and have them reheat two brand new ones and bring to us so we could eat. That's going above and beyond the call of your nursing duties! Does he need to be commended for his care of his patience and their family absolutely as much as he can possibly get because nursing care like what Max gave us is few and far between. It's much appreciated and we think he should be acknowledged for his good work. We thanked him. He said that that's my job. That's what I'm here to do is take care of you. He actually got my other half to smiling and so that was really good. They were cutting up and joking back-and-forth so yeah he was very nice and was with us the whole time until we got brought upstairs. Horrific experience. I would have been better off delivering my baby in the back of a bus. I appreciate training students or new hires but 4? Nothing was done correctly and at a snails pace. After you deliver you are rolled out and forgotten about. Let's talk about after you take your baby home, smacked with a fee for the baby to stay in the room with you because why not? Customer service says they can charge for "whatever they want" and still have not sent me an itemized bill. 7 months later a New Bill arrives! This time for services billed in 2025. My experience at the ER was horrible. As usual nothing was done for me. They ran blood work and X-ray. I couldn't breathe, my body was swollen from to much fluids. All they did was the bare minimum and shipped me out the door. The new nurse was told to take my IV tube out, which he took someone else's IV by mistake. When he did take mine out he screwed that up too. I walked out the door and discovered I was bleeding all the way down my arm. He had pulled it out to hard which is what made me bleed. I will never be back in your ER or your hospital. My ex husband died in your hospital due to the lack of care . All my family and friends will be warned about getting care from your facility. Oh and you need to teach your ER admissions greeter to stop chewing on wads of gum while at the desk read more

I am an EMS professional working for a private ambulance company. It is standard for hospitals to have EMS rooms in which they provide sandwiches, water, coffee, yogurt, etc., for those of us who work 24 hour shifts and may only have time to grab something on our way out to our next call. I have never seen a hospital differentiate between private EMS and county fire/EMS. Until I took a patient to Good Samaritan last week. Posted on the fridge was a sign stating that snacks and hydration were only for county fire and EMS, NOT for private ambulances. Further, it informs that the room is camera monitored and any private EMS employee caught taking anything would be reported. Here's the thing. Private EMS transports patients just like county does. We transport patients when county requests. And here's the kicker. There's one thing we do that NO ONE else does. We take patients OUT of hospitals. We take them home, back to nursing facilities, out to other hospitals that are better equipped to manage their medical issues. County departments do not do that. What do you think happens if patients don't move out of hospitals? Hospital beds stay full, wait times increase, patient census remains high, which means new patients can't get in, and satisfaction ratings plummet. It's important to note that this is not a Multicare network wide deal. Just Good Sam. I particularly appreciate the irony of the hospital name next to the actions of the ER. "Samaritan - a person who provides compassionate, selfless help to a stranger in distress." Trust me when I tell you, when I'm 18 hours in to a 24 hour shift and I'm starving and dehydrated, I am most definitely "in distress." But apparently, that's irrelevant here. Stay classy, Good Sam. I have many complaints about Good Sam's - - I think good staff work in this zoo. It has grown larger than it can safely handle. Along with questions about the safety in hospital rooms (some are great, some are ghetto) - parking is a nightmare. I believe that quality care means not taking on more than you can handle. I believe it means, if you care about visitation being important to patients - you must provide ample parking, routinely available concierge parking, or outright charge people for parking so that some people do not camp out there all day. Neither staff nor visitors are properly accommodated. Please, Good Sam's, find a way that family of patients are not stressed to the max because of your environment. God knows how stressed the professional staff must be. read more

Had to take my mom to the emergency room here! Staff were good! The Dr's on the other hand, makes me wonder if they have any kind of Dr staff meetings!!! Because there was Absolutely NO Communication what so ever between them!! (0)!!! One was saying one thing the other saying something else!! We had to communicate to them what the other dr's were saying to us!! We had to question everything they were saying because the communication was SO bad!! We had (1) ICU nurse that was spectacular (Ell) and can't thank her enough for everything she did!!! But soon As ELL's shift was over the care went with her!! We left the hospital @9:00pm to get some sleep after being there for 5 days, by the time we got home @10 the night nurse called us to say she had passed!! We were in shock!! WTH!! at this point, I want to call out one particular person who made a huge difference and I stay at Multicare hospital Many people poke you and prod you and there are people are averaging above average Christina who is part of laboratory services and has the unfortunate job of coming to see patients starting at 3 o'clock in the morning but she came in to see me and everyone else she's been coming to see me has hurt and he's been painful. I didn't even know that Kristina had got in my vein. She is that good. She got it on the first try Multicare don't lose the staff member she has a fantastic representation of laboratory. She should be teaching her skill set to the other employees. She gets five or five stars and I sure as her cope this goes towards her getting her yearly bonus because she deserves every dollar you giving her more. read more

Been here before and everyone was as friendly as could be.. this time however in the ER I only encountered 2 nurses that stood out. Female nurse Lillie ( sp) and the male nurse from Ukraine. These two were great! Super helpful and friendly compared to others especially the doctor in ER on Monday night.. very Rude, and in my opinion could care less. The ER was dirty, trash cans full ( mind you we came in the morning and didn't get put into a room until late that night after nine) I feel that the ER could've been much cleaner specially the trash cans and the bathroom not having adequate paper towels to clean and dry your hands, trashcan, overflowing, and I just can't understand that they're so busy. They can't have person come in and clean up a bit very unsanitary there. Now we are in a room. The next day have not seen a doctor as of yet and it's almost 130. Some of the staff members on this floor are very friendly and helpful. read more

Run, walk, bike, crawl, or take an ambulance as far away from this hospital as possible. I fell outside my house, injuring my hand and leg. My husband drove me to Good Samaritan Hospital, purely because it's the closest facility to our house. He took me to the emergency entrance where a gentleman watched me hobble in, offering zero assistance or even a greeting me for that matter. He basically pointed to a metal detector and had me limp through. The woman at the desk was friendly enough, did offer me a wheelchair, unclean of course. I was then wheeled into another area where a "nurse" asked some questions and took a few vitals. Later, upon reading the notes she had my injured arm listed as right when it was the left. Short time later, I was wheeled to a hallway (hallway room 29 written on blue sign on back wall). This was where I remained for the next 1.5 hour, except for the 20 min trip to get xrays. Looking around and listening made me angry, sad, and disgusted. This is what healthcare looks like? Dirty chair, filthy walls/floors, constant flow of traffic in a tight hallway, personal information being discussed all around us. The treating PA and other staff were "nice enough." But is that good enough? I want competent, hygienic, protocol driven, excellence not just "nice." Most of the employees we encountered looked disheveled and frankly out of place. Out for a Sunday hike rather than treating seriously ill individuals. Exam took 3 minutes tops, the Dr. bent over and touched my leg but never looked under the pant leg at the skin or much else. Puncture wound on hand needed a stitch but was told I would be charged for a whole kit plus the numbing shot. Opted for glue and steri strips. My hand was swelling up to the the size of a baseball, we had to ask for an ice pack. The place was not crowded and no one had urgency in their step, just lots of employee chatter. My husband wheeled me out the door and I hobbled back to our car. Thankfully, my injures were just a bunch of swelling, bruises, scraps/cuts. Anything else, and I probably would have left with more than I came with. All in all this terrible excuse for care cost me more than 8 thousand dollars (didn't even get a Diamond encrusted steri strip). I have zero faith in the quality of care at this facility. Please please please take me elsewhere if I require emergent care. read more

Let's see, we'll start with not a single person using hand hygiene in the ER, remarkably poor communication. Had an MRI, sitting in waiting room waiting for results. Girl comes out and puts me in wheelchair and starts wheeling me back. I think I'm going back to ER to discuss my results, with you know, a DOCTOR. But girl tells me I am being admitted and takes me up to a room. Nurse who admits me never asks about my meds. I tell her I haven't eaten for about 24 hours and she does nothing, but I do get dinner 4 hours later. I tell them no one discussed treatment plan or results with me. I tell them I'm extremely sensitive to light and noise and that I WILL be awake for the entire night without my sleep medication. Takes 9 hours to finally give me sleep med at 3am. They tried to give me breakfast even though I'm NPO since midnight. They keep trying to test my blood glucose even though it's the patient next to me who is diabetic. The poor patient next to me has a swollen throat and can't swallow. She has told MANY people this and she has told MANY people that she has critical heart meds she hasn't been able to take. But each person sounds like they've never heard the information. Pharmacist came around 11pm last night and I discussed meds directly with them. But still no sleep med until 3am, and shift change nurse at 7am didn't know anything about my other medication. No one has checked my vitals this morning. My 1st IV got phlebitis, but night nurse tried to talk me into leaving it in and I had to firmly say no it needs to be removed. She finally removed it but I have a red painful line up my arm about 5 inches long. Got maybe 2 hours of sleep last night. This hospital is dysfunctional. The last time we were here was with a gall bladder attack with my husband. They wanted to do imaging. We waited for 27 hours and never received care. Later determined that my husband passed a gallstone while waiting in ER Overflow. Not a single nurse used hand hygiene during that visit either. I only came here today because it was the only ER that would take me after my CT at a satellite ER. But I will never come here again. Oh a doctor did finally come talk to me about 3 hours after I was admitted, 8 hours after the actual MRI. read more

He went into respiratory distress and had to be intubated and sent to ICU where they had 4 other IV meds one being fentanyl to make sure he would not survive this very intentional overdose. I had filed formal complaint at capital medical center 5 weeks prior to coming here PSA if you file complaint against a hospital DO NOT go to another within the same medical group. They WILL kill you. Is the only explanation i can come up with. Byron had back pain that oxycodone every 6 hours did not manage the pain. The next step was to give morphine and ativan and Valium?? Of course not the dr nor charlene will be held accountable for this murder. Do not file complaint or they will kill you. I cannot say how unimpressed I am with this place. While I cannot say enough good things about the nursing staff. The doctors not so much. I recently looked up the doctors notes from an accident I was in. After xrays and MRIs on my chest they found several broken ribs. No one ever looked at my shoulder that I could not move. Doctors notes stated there were no broken or damaged ribs.... There were 5 FIVE. The nurses notes listed the broken ribs. I am a caregiver for my 90year old brother in law who has Dementia. The doctors notes now have me diagnosed with Dementia. read more

Last year I went to this hospital because I had vertigo horribly horribly bad was there for about 2 days anyway when they wheeled me in to get a CAT scan I remember I couldn't open my eyes I was very very sick and I remember the two gentlemen that wheeled me in for the CAT scan he said oh you have earrings in your ears I remember him saying that but I couldn't open my eyes because the vertigo was so bad anyway I remember him taking them out of my ears now these were my mother she just died recently of covet and I had to fly back to Pennsylvania and those are the only thing I had of my mother's anyway when I got better the next day I asked for my earrings and they said oh we can't find them but we'll look and again I kept asking and asking by time I got discharged I asked again I made a complaint to the head honcho that runs the place and told them what happened I said the guy that took the earrings out of my ears stole them cuz he's saying he can't remember anything that's what they said they checked into everything he said he thought maybe he handed it to me and I'm thinking to myself if someone is so so ill they can't open their eyes very nauseous why would you hand something to somebody he's lying anyway the lady that I talked to to make it right I said listen those were my mother's they're the only ones I have you either have to make it right I will replace a pair of earrings for my ears cuz I can only wear gold just compensate for the earrings like $150 so I can buy a pair on offer up or marketplace the woman said no we're not going to do anything anyway as I looked into law of Washington the law said if you remove your stuff yourself and you lose it they are not responsible but if they remove any of your jewelry or anything then they have to compensate for it I got worn out from trying to argue with the people to tell them I want my earrings back they could care less about my feelings my mother what those earrings meant to me all they said to me is we don't have people that steal a comment such as that and they're just regular people like anybody else I believe that guy pocketed my earrings and wanted to play a fake story on he doesn't remember he thought maybe he gave it to me like I said why would you give somebody that's can't open their eyes or sicker than a dog you did not give me no earrings you took them and then this hospital should have been liable because they removed them from my ears I did not remove them they did they owe me I am very little respect how they handled everything read more

Great hospital! The EE can get busy but they will get you back in quickly depending on whatever is wrong with you.

This was by far the worst ER experience EVER! I brought my daughter in because she was rear ended by another car going 50 mph just 1 week after back surgery. The first doctor and nurse were rude and uncaring. They took her for a CT and the tech wouldn't even help her on or off the table (even though they could see she was struggling). Gave her pain meds then left. No one checked on her. At 45 minutes of no one coming in she hit the call button for pain meds because her pain was a 9 out of 10. They said they'd bring it right in. Nurse comes in, almost gave her meds for another patient. Left and 45 minutes later, no meds, no nurses, NO ONE! Finally after getting someone in the hall they gave her Tylenol and read the CT. They kept saying it was shift changes, etc. There was no excuse for this level of incompetency. We had to go 20 minutes out of our way to a 24 hour pharmacy because they took so long at doing nothing all other pharmacies were closed. 5 hours of incompetent care. If you care about your care, don't go here. read more

Healthcare and the decisions of the patient should be unalienable. I stayed MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital for 14 days with no medical progress, but tons of tests, laxatives and expenses. I laid in bed in pain for 14 days without intervention. Multicare refused to transfer me to another hospital (they said they would not transfer if the current hospital has the same capabilities as the receiving hospital that you are requesting a transfer to) and so, they forced me to leave "against medical advice" in order to go to another hospital. They forced me to remove my central line upon departure. A central line that took 4 sticks, 4 ultrasounds and 4 cathaterizations to achieve. I arrived at my chosen hospital, University of Washington Medical Center one hour after leaving Good Sam. Before I had a bed, UW knew which drug could potentially fix my bowels and began the process to administer it with me. It took 5 days to approve the drug needed, verify my body could handle it, and to find an ICU bed to administer it and see me through it. I was released and my medical issue fixed on day 6. I will have a bill that will far exceed my ability to pay because the egos of the doctors at MultiCare and their unwillingness to believe that another hospital could do better than they were/did. I missed out on work, jeopardized my double mastectomy healing/recovery, and was away from my family for 3 weeks unnecessarily. This is not okay. Every patient should choose the care they receive and where they receive it. All doctors should ask for help when they need it or are stumped. Patients and their recovery should supersede physical egos. Being insured should not allow you to be indebted forever. read more

DH was taken by EMTs to this hospital. When I got there, we sat in the ER "waiting room" for quite a while. The waiting room is in a tent on cement and blacktop. When we finally saw the doctor, I was impressed with his honesty and level of care. However, there is not enough room at this hospital to take care of patients! Patients were in beds in the hallways. There was no way DH was going to be left here overnight. read more

We have mixed feelings-but overall, not great experiences. My dad was seen here twice within almost exactly a month. The first time we waited nearly 9 hours to be admitted. We got in a room, they got him situated. We finally went home so that all 3 of us could get some rest. When we came back 5-6 hours later, my dad was still in the same room-and nobody had come to check on him, give him an iv, help him use the restroom...needless to say we felt incredibly guilty leaving him. We assumed he would have care-apparently we were wrong. He stayed for roughly 2 weeks and it was slightly better on the 5th floor...but not by a lot. We did most of his bathing and toileting because we weren't sure if anyone else would. He was a terminal cancer patient (we knew that going in) but they tried to discharge us into hospice-something we had never agreed to. We had a difficult time getting any sort of communication from doctors as to what was even wrong, and then trying to get a care plan going was equally difficult. The second time we ended up there we got seen much faster, but we needed help getting my dad out of his wheelchair and in to the car. Despite asking twice, nobody ever came out to help-some really sweet people in the parking lot came to our aid instead. I know hospitals are very likely understaffed right now, but being forgotten about or ignored when your family is in crisis is never a good look. read more

Every experience here has been extremely pleasant from surgery to birth, minus the pain of the body lol. When I had my baby it was so amazing and she didn't leave my sight Once (didn't have to even tell them). I received such amazing and careful care and a brilliant team. Everyone was extremely nice at both labor and postpartum units. Loved my nurses and providers oh so much and the anesthesiologist who did my epidural did a fantastic job. She got it to where I could move my legs and move around but couldn't even feel a tear or anything. I would love to thank that woman personally. My surgery here was also fantastic, the surgery team was very nice and helpful with any concerns I had. The before and after nurses and team were also so very kind. And I was out and at home that same day with no complications. The front receptionist are always so helpful and kind and even when I got lost to go do my RQI a very nice gentleman helped me get to the right place. Only issue is the ER but that's not due to the staff or hospital it's because everyone goes there for literally every little thing so the waiting room is where people have to wait for hours and hours. I was in the middle of a gallstone attack which I learned I had at the end of my visit at 3am and we got there at around 10pm... you do not get a private room or anything like that so I'm not sure why I was billed like I was in a room but besides the point I really wish people would stop going to the ER for minor things that they can be seen for at a urgent care or their primary care office. I had a saline drip while waiting in the waiting room and was back and forth getting a ton of imaging done while other people around me were able to sleep and relax I was in excruciating pain and couldn't breath and yet I was feeling like I shouldn't even have went because what if it was nothing and we waiting for so long for no reason. Med refills or anything minor does not = ER visit. And then there were a few patients causing scenes too wanting to leave AMA but wanting transportation. When you're having 10/10 pain and hearing people complain about transportation it just drives you nuts. read more

This hospital is a joke. They welcome you into a tent for whatever emergency you are facing.... A TENT!!!! When you check in you are in the company of nothing but junkies searching for their next fix, facing symptoms. The staff is not friendly, does not care about why you may be there and the drs are cold with horrible bed side manor. My wife was having a miss carriage we were there to make sure it was not ectopic. The drs response "you have been through this before so you know the drill. What do you want us to do" so insensitive and heartless. This hospital is trash. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I felt dismissed, unheard, and unsafe. Go anywhere else. A vets office would.probably be cleaner and see you faster. read more

I was here for a scheduled surgery for my ankle and the minute I went into the door and out, everyone was so nice! If this is a surgery, you'll first talk to a worker about finances. They have a federal assistance program which helps a lot even after insurance. You wait in their lobby, then you're taken to the surgery waiting room. I was then called into the area with the bed and IV stuff. The nurse was super nice and you didn't even have to lift a finger! I hate getting IVs done, but the nurse was super accommodating and helped me feel less scared. During this time you're asked questions, the doctor come in and see you, they explain everything to you. Then you're wheeled off and into surgery! Afterwards you're super groggy and need about an hour to really wake up, but they let you take your time to wake up. Nurses here were also super nice. Though there were a few nurses that kept saying they recognized me, which I have never seen them in my life till then. I'm pretty sure they're mixing me up with another Asian person, which I called them out on. We don't all look alike! Diversity training for these staff might be helpful. read more

I arrived by ambulance due to horrific pain. I've had multiple surgeries and have pain medication. I had taken 150mg oxycodone and 6mg of Xanax around 2700mg of gabapentin alongside my other prescription medication. Nothing was touching the bone pain. I explained that my nerves we're making the bone feel like it was exploding from pressure. I BEGGED FOR A NERVE BLOCK, BEGGED! Clearly I wasn't there asking for medication, I brought my own with me to show them I didn't want opioids I wanted a nerve block to the right leg. Also I clearly understand how my body works and what it takes to get through flare ups. They did nothing for me. They had security walk me out of the building while I begged for a social worker or anyone to listen to me. At 2:09am I was discharged against my will in the pouring rain. I arrived by ambulance and was forced to leave on foot. It took me 4 hours to make it back home. I fell multiple times from muscle spasms and pain. I didn't even know my mom was discharged. I'm glad I found her at her adult family home. Never heard from a doc to do continuity of care and the nurses didn't even know what bed my mother was in. Mixed up meals with her roommate that had allergies to certain foods. Asked questions to the nurses and just got a blank look. Absolutely terrible. read more

I was pleasantly surprised about this hospital. I brought my daughter early I'm talking 5am to have surgery. Check in was quick, receptionist checking us in was courteous, she checked our temperature, and gave us their mask. Apparently our mask was not adequate enough. Then we were brought to the preop room, everyone was over the top friendly. The RNs who took care of my daughter were so friendly, gentle, and caring. They were genuine, and you can tell they love what they do. There's a Starbucks upstairs from the waiting room, so I went to get a quick bite, and a coffee because I was so tired I normally don't get up until noon! I went back downstairs to the waiting room, and found out my daughter was already in recovery...what?!!! That was fast. Then after waiting a little while apparently I missed the doctor because I went to use the restroom.! Again that was fast. I drank so much coffee that I kept running back and forth, and I kept missing the post op staff! Then I tried not to go back to the bathroom, but was falling asleep when the postop RN said she ready to go home!!! That was so fast I didn't get to even nap Hahahah!!! I just don't understand the bad reviews I'm reading about this place. So not what I experienced. Place is very clean, everyone was so efficient, and friendly. Only bad thing was the Starbucks. The nurses are always great. The doctors can be hit or miss sometimes, but for the most part you feel well taken-care of. The wait can be brutal for the emergency room but let's face it, what ER doesn't? All-in-all I'd recommend Good Samaritan to friends and family. Written by someone who unfortunately is in the hospital way more than she'd like. read more

The ER is an absolute nightmare. If you are sick enough to get past that the Nurses and CNA we have experienced are wonderful caring people.

Arrived at the ER at 4pm Fri. Still here in the waiting room at 3:30am , no communication from the doctor or staff,when I ask for an update they act as if I'm bothering them. read more

Horrible experience all around. If you expect to get help here in a timely manner you should probably consider going elsewhere. If you expect to have privacy while you are dealing with whatever medical emergency you have go elsewhere if you expect to have a solution to your problem go elsewhere. If you don't mind being treated in the waiting room and making sure other patients waiting there don't die this is the place for you. The folks here are understaffed and overworked and I'm sure they try their best but there is something fundamentally wrong with this emergency room and I do not trust my health or a loved one's health to this facility. I personally won't bring anyone I know there ever again unless of course I don't like them. read more

Zero stars for the absolute RUDE operators answering the phone. Cut you off while you're talking and argue with you that they don't answer the phone because it's not 10am, no it's 10:05am. Then transfer you to wrong place and don't answer the phone when you call back. Multicare needs to get some serious customer service training with this people who are the first impression of the the hospital. 9 minutes and they don't answer the phone! Unbelievable! read more

I completely understand how difficult it must have been for the Drs & nurses during COVID, but the way they treat senior/elderly patients IMO is criminal. After my Mom was brought in by ambulance, she was placed into a room in the emergency department that did not have any way to communicate w/the nurses. No "call light", intercom, or phone. I arrived 30mins after she was placed into the room, to find my Mom having what looked like seizures, trying to pull out her leads, & zero way to get help. Eventually the 1-kind nurse I encountered over a 6wk period was able to get help, but not without some serious attitude problems of the nurses who helped. This was when I filed my first complaint/grievance, which ended up leading to nothing. Then there's the Drs. Do not be surprised when you're spoken to by them as if you're only there to dump off your parent, w/zero desire to come back & pick them up. I heard this directly, & could not believe it. They are all so jaded that they questioned whether or not there was actually anything wrong w/my Mom. Hmm...idk but doesn't her 104 degree temperature give you a clue that she's not well? Very long story a bit shorter-after 4-admittances, in which she was brought in by ambulance, admitted for a couple days then released, not once were we given any type of diagnosis. I took her to her GP, 3-days after her last release, who immediately called 911-concerned w/my Moms abdomen. This time I flat out refused to allow her to be taken back to GS. I argued w/the paramedics-who stated they had a contract w/the hospital. Only after I reiterated the fact that GS had already hospitalized her 4X's, without any type of diagnosis-they agreed to take her out to St Joes. 6hrs later we finally received her diagnosis-& unfortunately due to GS's complete disregard for needing to diagnose her for 6wks, she was too weak to undergo the life saving surgery she required, & 3-weeks later, she passed away. & what did GS have to say about all of this? Nothing but lies, & that my family must be incorrect as to her receiving a diagnosis. Funny, as I'm the one who set up her MyChart, read every single test result, every single nurses note, as well as the Drs comments, & was the one taking care of her after each time GS booted her out. Yet somehow myself & family must have "missed" her being diagnosed? No. GS's ONLY concern was to try to cover up their complete failure, & IMO, complete disregard for my Moms health. I would not allow anyone I care about to set foot into their establishment. read more
