I absolutely love this place. This is the fastest ER by far. They are all so kind from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave and it's very obvious they try to get their patients in and out while making sure they're taken care of. I noticed the two charge nurses working hard, checking on patients, making sure everyone was taken care of. I was in the hallway so I observed a lot in the short amount of time I was there and they all enjoy their jobs it seems and they seem to want to get you seen as fast as they can. I've been here with my kids and they are so kind when you have sick littles that are crying. Tonight I witnessed the technician on shift making a balloon out of rubber gloves to give to the crying little kiddo. They offered me a warm blanket right away, and honestly were just great. I highly recommend this place over any other medical place if you want good care, fast care, and they have everything the regular ER has. We will always go here over anywhere else. Thank you for all you do South Hill ER! I wish I would have gotten the LPNs name on night shift tonight she was the kindest lady. these nurses and doctors are so manipulative just to get their money. I said I didn't want an IV and 5 people were sent in to change my mind. And then i asked to not be told what was going on as she was doing it and i think she took that the wrong way and misplaced it so incorrectly that my whole body started vibrating, every cell felt it. And when i got CT scan, it was so painful when i got contrast. If you need an ER I would go somewhere else. Make an apt with a doctor if it's not urgent. read more

Wouldn't recommend going to this place if you've been hurt in an accident. They will move you around more than necessary and belittle you with customer service when you try to ask questions or for help. They also have private conversations in front of you like you don't exist. Bedside manner? Good luck being seen. read more

Took my pregnant fiancée here because unfortunately she was miscarrying. 1) Called for a nurse because she was bleeding profusely on the bed while waiting for a Dr to show up. Got told someone was on the way No one came for over 30 mins. Crazy part was ...ER wasn't even busy. Nurses were hanging out on their phones at the nurses station. 2) Dr Speed was in the middle of letting us know we lost our baby and the front desk girl was already knocking on the door asking for our billing information despite a sign on the door stating "Stop . Exam in progress" I'm at a loss of what to say... zero professionalism and empathy displayed. Didn't have time to process the shock Of losing our child and receptionist was already pounding on the door asking how we were going to pay for this visit. read more

I read that only 3 1/2 stars were given to this clinic and I don't know why. I had an emergency the day after Christmas and they were slammed with patients. I had an amazing experience. My primary care nurse was Bree. They were phenomenal and very kind, gentle and sweet. I appreciated everyone that was here. They got me in, checked me in, and began gathering my samples for the lab very quickly. If you've encountered Taya as the person checking your vitals, you'd know she's rude and unprofessional. Luckily the nice clerk at the front desk gave me the card to the grievance line and gave me her name that way I could report her. As someone in health care you have to put your biases away and in particular not talk to people in a condescending tone when they're at their most vulnerable. And in my case, in crisis. When stating my concerns she was disruptive therefore I couldn't address the entire situation as to why I was as asking to be seen. She spoke to me like I was dumb hence where the condescending attitude comes in. But once again if she would have let me finish speaking, she wouldn't have been loud, rude, and wrong. That is just a snapshot of the type of care I received upon arrival. While still going through triage, Taya was leaned up against the wall, taking deep begrudging sighs as if I was inconveniencing her at work where people such as I come in to receive help. If Taya doesn't want to help people, she chose the wrong career path and degree. However, if healthcare is what she wants to work in, she needs to take a cultural competence class as if she's starting nursing school all over again because it's apparent that she missed it or didn't bother taking notes. Once I am able to report her poor behavior to patient services, I'll try to remember to update this. read more

I was experiencing very high blood pressure. I was checked in by one of the rudest nurses that I've ever experienced. She asked questions and didn't wait for the answer before barking the next question. I was taken back to a room and waited 3 hours with no one coming in to talk to me or let me know what was going on. I rang for the nurse and told her I was leaving. The doctor entered and was scolding me for wanting to leave. They insisted on me signing a leaving against medical advice paper. This place is the most horrible so called medical facility that I have ever experience. The staff doesn't care about helping people. The sit around on their phone, or stand in the hall joking and laughing . I could hear it all. I'll never go back to any Multi-Uncare facility. read more

We went to the so-called ER with a severe steam burn where the palm of his hand was blistering his entire hand all the way past his wrist with Scarlet red. All this overpriced, urgent care did was put in antibiotic cream on his hand rapid and refer him to plastic surgery . For pain that was 10/10 for hours and they gave him one little pill oxycodone .. I get that everyone in in America is afraid to treat pain but this boy had never saw medical care in his life before the proper protocol for a burn is hydration and morphine and antibiotic to prevent infection.. we appreciate that he was giving antibiotic cream and the referral to plastics .. but the boy did not sleep the rest of the night. He finally passed out at 7 AM 12 hours later. Why can't providers follow protocols? I will never go to this place that calls themselves the ER but really is just an urgent care. I am contacting a lawyer to look into suing the manufacturer of the product and I may ask around to see if my son was treated properly . I think you need to change the name of your sign from emergency department to urgent care. But you won't do that because you can charge insurance more for an emergency department and you can for an urgent care. to the people of South Hill Puyallup have to suffer because Multicare found a loophole in the law and figure to steal more money instead of actually care for people. read more

Went in here with pancreatitis and had a CT scan show that my pancreatic stent moved which is why I was in so much pain. I'm now at MY DRS at the U of W going thru a procedure to fix that. But they ALSO proceeded to tell my dr that the CT showed I had no Gallbladder. FAIL! I DO have mine. How do you not see that!! Whoever is reading the CT scans there needs to be fired! First time I went in here I was pleased. Second time, which is this time I'm referring too had a decent experience until the morning crew came in. Asked for my pain meds. Was ignored Three diff times. Then when I asked where the hell was my pain meds after being in pain for ever they. Ame in and said I was cussing at them and became extreme my rude. I have zero patience for people who try to place their incompetence, and errors on their patience for having a legitimate complaint. I needless to say I left against drs orders, and I'm THRILLED I did because god knows what would of happened if they thought my gallbladder was missing. read more

I went to this ER back in January for kidney stone pain. The triage nurse was awful and rude and told me to not make so much moaning noses. That all I had to do was breathe in through my nose and out my mouth and I wouldn't be in so much pain. I don't think she has ever had to deal with passing a kidney stone. Thankfully I got iv fluids and pain meds. Unfortunately they didn't tell me how bad it was. In May I ended up at urgent care for what I thought was a UTI. Turns out I had been fighting a kidney infection due to the stones since January. Then today I finally got in to see my new urologist and he told me I should have been admitted and had emergency surgery in January because it clearly shows I have 2 stones blocking on top of of the numerous stones I had in my kidneys. That this could cause lasting damage to my kidneys. I now have to have another Ct scan to see where we are at with the passing of these stones. To say I'm frustrated and upset doesn't even begin to describe how I feel right now. read more

I will never go here again. I brought in my two month old who had a sore throat shallow cry and low grade fever and waited for over two hours while no one told me anything. I politely asked someone if they could let me know what tests or which Dr I was waiting for. Dr Burn has very poor bedside manner and was not helpful at all. She treated me like I was an idiot bringing my baby in. She looked at him less than 5 minutes after waiting for over 2 hours and sent me home with nothing. Come to find out my baby has thrush. He was miserable trying to eat an unable to comfortably. She could have very easily diagnosed this if she'd spent more than a few minutes checking him out. You would think they'd take more care checking on an infant. So utterly disappointing and frustrating and a huge waste of my time. read more

My 2 month old daughter needed emergency services after 4pm on a Saturday, so we took her here because all the urgent cares for children in the area were closed. We are very pleased with our visit! From the start the receptionists were lovely and helped us get checked in. We waited about 10 minutes before we were triaged, then we waited maybe 10 more minutes for a room. Once we had received a room it was minutes to when we had seen the doctor. We had the physicians assistant (Amanda I believe). She was wonderful. She listened to us about our concerns and really made sure we were taken care of. My daughter had to have an ultrasound during the visit and although this was a miserable experience for her, the tech was very nice and did the imaging greatly. She also had to have a x-ray, the tech just brings the machine into the room and takes the images there. After the imaging we met the floor doctor I don't remember her name, but she sat down with us and told us she would do everything to help us get connected with the doctors that could help our daughter get the care and answers she needs. She was wonderful! We were at the ER for about 6 hours, although we still don't know much about what's going on with my daughter, we have referrals to see specialists that can help us get our answers. I would recommend this place to anyone. They doctors and nurses are so sweet and really care about their patients. As for the bad reviews, make sure when going to any ER right now that we are in covid times. I'm sure this medical staff only really sees covid patients all the time and they have been through ALOT. Have compassion for what they are also going through. read more

All of the Multicare urgent care clinics stopped the walk in option, and I surely didn't want to sit in the bigger ED's for long hours with much more serious illnesses than myself. They were very busy so as you can imagine the wait time was very long. There was a girl that was waiting to be seen for hours. She was vomiting outside and in the bathroom. Waited over 3 hours outside of the complex for my wife to get an ultrasound(because covid they will not let you wait inside the facility). They had to have someone from another facility come to perform the ultrasound. Why would you say "Emergency" on your sign if your not staffed/equipped to act on that level of urgency. read more

This evening I had an unplanned visit to GSH South Hill Emergency Department and want to give a shout out to the staff. The care and the service I received were absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left I was treated with outstanding compassionate care and everyone even had a great since of humor. The registration desk, the security guard, the triage nurse, the nurse in the back, the doctor, the X-ray techs and the nurse that discharged me everyone of them were just incredible Thank You all so much. I had this lingering cough for almost a month due to COVID and I went in to see if I could get something for it. After more than 3 hours of waiting, blood drawn, X-ray, more blood drawn, cat scan and a urine test later, I was finally diagnosed with bronchitis ‍. They gave me an inhaler for my breathing and nothing to help me for my cough. The bad part is I felt even worse the following day with chest tightness and wheezing. Also, make sure to tell them what medicine they will be giving you and why. The nurse assistant reached over to my IV and injected me with medicine before telling me what it was for. Scary! read more
