And the staff was very friendly and personable. Plus they took several steps to make me comfortable and at easy since I am not the best patient when it comes to needles. The front desk staff Martha and Mandy are also amazing medical receptionist. They are knowledgeable and friendly and treat every patient with respect and integrity! Believe it or not, my prior clinic back in Tennessee frequently smelled like fast food and the nurses there were very loud with their conversations and jokes. Not the case here. Sign in and paper work was quick and easy and the lady at the front desk was nice. Wait time in the waiting room was only about 10 minutes. A nurse called me, took my wait, asked my history and answered all my questions. She was also friendly as well. When the nurse left the room the doctor arrived in about 5 minutes to examen me...very short wait! Sorry if it's too much info but I requested a Pap Smear along with my physical and she was very gentle...Im sure you ladies can appreciate that info. Not even a little pain or discomfort. She also told me I had a tilted cervix which...in my many years of seeing doctors in the past, no one has ever told me that so I'm pleased w/ all the information she gives. The employees all seem to really care about the patients. The doctor I saw was Dr Wang...yes...Dr Wang gave me an amazing Pap Smear...go figure...haha. Ok...seriously though it was a good visit and hopefully the rest of my care is this good for the rest of my time here. They accept Tricare.

I would have hoped that at the half way point a reassessment would have been done with a change in the treatment plan. The treatments greatly increased my anxiety level and caused very bizarre dreams. I had high hopes for some level of improvement and was deeply disappointed when it did not happen. I was $2000 out of pocket along with 30 5 day a week appointments which was very stressful while trying to work full time. TMS can be very helpful for many I just wish there was more monitoring by the staff when it became obvious it was not working.

Especially considering I have an issue where I metabolize medication too quickly, making it far less effective, and making me need higher doses of everything, which does not go over well in the ERs. I had to become used to the fact that if I were going to an ER visit or a hospitalization, I was going to end up going home in worse condition then when I had gotten there, pain-wise. I was told that this place would be different in hospice is different, but I still expected it when I came here a couple nights ago. I was met with absolutely nothing but the opposite of everything I just described. All this time, I've been wondering where all of the good-hearted people, who got into medicine to help others to heal their pain, judgement free, had gone, and I seem to have stumbled upon them right here at the Franciscan hospice House. I can't say enough how amazing each and every person who works here is, and I wish I could recognize it in a way where I'm able to give back some of what they've given me, but posting my truth on the on this internet website will just have to do. All my dozens of ER visits and hospitalizations I have experienced in my adult life, made me feel like I was doing something wrong when I needed and asked for some kind of pain control, to the point where I was ashamed to even ask. I unlearned that behavior here, and I don't know if I could have gone on without that changing. I found no nefarious actions, or questionable intentions in anything that is done here by any of the people who work here, it's just good people. I was unaware they still existed. It's like finding a freaking unicorn on a bit stunned and unsure of what to do next, but this seems like the right step. I almost don't want to make any sudden movements and in fear that it might spook them and everything will go back to the hellish ways that I'm used to. If you're considering getting their services, my only advice is stop waiting and just do it, because for me, nothing but good came out of it. I have never used Virginia mason and now that I have, I will tell everyone to go there !! Before my surgery they implanted a pump that would act as a nerve block to my shoulder and arm after surgery to reduce the amount of pain I'd experience and reduce the medicine I would need to take. You don't feel the line being inserted cause your sedated. It was so relaxing and stress free. After surgery I was explained everything. My mom was my ride and she had everything with her. I'm at day 5 after surgery and the pain is no where near where it would have been without the pump. I mean it is sore. But don't need alot of pills. I'm relaxing for sure.
