Chris pierces your ears like he's mad. If you see a guy piercing, turn around and come back when the lady is there. I've only seen her when I went in to get my piercing changed out, because they said it was free, and she still charged me for it and their jewelry selection was sub par. They use surgical steel for the initial piercing but it must have nickel in it as all my piercings bothered me until I switched them out for different earrings. read more

Chris is fantastic!!!!! His family owns the shop... The store is crazy clean. Very impressive coming in. Tons of options in gauges and piercings. My nose ring fell out suddenly in the shower and I couldn't put it back in to save my life. Not only were they super helpful on the phone, but Chris immediately helped me and put it back in, in like negative five seconds! Not only that he does fantastic photography work. The guy piercer barely cleaned before and did not clean my eat after he was done. A helix should not hurt as bad as he some how managed to do. He didn't mark my ear before piercing it, it didn't hurt when the needle went in but switching to the jewelry it felt like he was ripping out my ear. It was gushing blood after and i realized when i got to the car because he didn't clean it in any way once he was done. I have had my Helix done with a gun before and it wasn't even a fraction of the pain that this one was. worst piercing experience I have ever had and will definitely never come back. read more

The guy piercer was awful. Went completely off from where I wanted it. And shoved the jewelry in without guidance of the needle. Went super fast and not taking his time with consulting leaving my piercing painful and crooked and did not clean the area of the piercing at all. When unclamping up he pulled super hard on my fresh piercing which caused it to be super painful afterward. Worst experience out of my 9 piercings. I've gotten two (septum and lobes) piercings here in the past. The lady who did my septum was FANTASTIC, it didn't hurt at all, she was super nice and so friendly. It didn't even really hurt for my very first piercing ever. Then I went back for my lobes and got Chris. As many other review point out, Chris is... not the best. He was curt, which is fine, whatever. But then came the actual piercing. He pulled at my ears so hard, I was barely sitting on the seat, having to hold myself up so he didn't nearly take my ear off. Then, he ripped my right lobe so badly, I instantly started bleeding heavily. When I instinctively reached out my hand to catch the blood so it didn't get on my clothes, he got very dismissive and borderline aggressive. It hurt incredibly bad for the entire day. Mind you, babies get their lobes pierced and I can't imagine them feeling that kind of pain. I got that piercing a year ago and I still have a scarred bump from it. In all, this shop is lovely, but ask for anyone but Chris for your own sake. read more

I went here to get both my navel and septum done on my birthday. The guy piercer there did a terrible job on my navel. I believe his name is Chris. He didn't wear a mask the entire time and it was just super unsanitary. He first did my septum and that was fine and all. Then he had me lay down and without marking anything out at all, he proceeded to just pierce my navel. He was so aggressive about it and was way too rough. I got home and noticed it was pierced way too high and too much skin was pierced. I had to take it out that time. I went here to get it done again and I even told him that he messed up the first time. He instead this time, pierced it HIGHER and with more skin. The barbell is too short and I'm going to need to take it out. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

The only place I'll get pierced at! I've gotten all my piercings done here except for the lobe piercings. Chris did 8 of my piercings- upper lobe on each ear, helix, rook, both nipples, daith, and belly button(navel). He was professional and quick! He always explains how it's going to go and aftercare. My younger teen siblings have also gotten all their ear piercings done by him. They truly care about their customers, I have never had a problem with them. They provide an aftercare sheet and salt to use to clean your piercings with. Every time I'm pierced, they make sure to let me know that if I ever have a problem with a piercing, to come back in and they would help me, and they stay true to their word! The jewel on my rook came loose and fell out and I couldn't screw it back in, so hard, and I came to the shop and they happily helped me put it back in! They're always super helpful and caring. We came in with a group of girls to get piercings and they were accommodating (did call ahead to make sure it was okay) had two stations set up and throughly cleaned after each person. I felt like my lady was a little rougher than I've had before and the girls who had her also agreed. I wasn't instructed on any after care, and had to google it later. My friend and I had a great experience here last summer. We were on our way to a concert later in the evening when we decided to get piercings last minute- they took walk-ins no problem! There was a tiny bit of a wait since they happened to be having a 2 for $25 sale going on for piercings but it was no big deal. Plus I have paid twice that for just one single piercing at other places so I didn't mind waiting one bit! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, my friend got a cartilage piercing, her nostril and both her nipples pierced, and the piercer was super professional and made us feel totally comfortable. I got my tragus, conch, and cartilage pierced and neither me or my friend have had any issues at all with any of our piercings over a year later :) Overall would highly recommend this place! While I realllllllllllly appreciated the cleaning he was doing, his input on the Coronavirus and his tattoos, he hurt me. Went in yesterday to get my smiley pierced and I know this place is convenient for all of us that live here but I warn you, DONT DO IT. Chris the only male pieced there besides to girls is so rough when he pierces people. Before he pierced me he told me how "foggy he's head felt" and how he was"spacing out" not things you want to here while being pierced. I've had this piercing before and it was basically painless. This time it hurt like hell lol. Not only that a girl came back in because he pierced her nose in the complex wrong place! Sanitation and making sure the piercing is placed right, as well as being gentle are non of his strong suites. I had my septum done here a few weeks ago by Chris. Unfortunately he he did not have much of a bedside manner. He seemed distracted and rushed and did not talk much or prepare me mentally for my piercing. He wore dark glasses so I could not see his eyes. He did seem clean and experienced, but he was too rough for me. My piercing was painful but did turn out well, but I cannot recommend this piercer based on my experience. I went with my mom and we both got 5 piercings, and the pricing was great! everyone there is supper nice and helpful. the girl is supper gentle and nice! definitely recommend. Chris is definitely more rough but has supper good experience. He was supper nice and even gave me a gift card for one of the percings I didn't end up getting, so I went back and got it another time! everything is supper clean from what I saw. It's been years since I went into a piercing shop and I went here to get my seconds in my earlobes. It was like he was in a rush and didn't even take the time even look at my ears before he pierced them. They were uneven and I had to take them out. I want to start off saying that this is my VERY first yelp review and that should speak volumes- I first came here in July 2018 with 4 of my Friends, we all did the 2 for 25 piercing deal. I got the left side of my nose and my left conch. The first moment we came in to do paperwork, the girl we dealt with at the front desk had a bad attitude with every one of us and even snatched a paper from my hand because it "wasn't ready". She was crass and dismissive, then with our questions made us feel stupid. We chalked it up to being the industry and dropped it. Fast forward the 6 week time period, all of our nose rings were bent and cut too long therefore were rubbing the inside of our noses. We went back 6 weeks to THE DAY, to switch them (9/20) due to them being so uncomfortable. When we went in and explained we wanted them shorted she jokingly explained she had been doing them too long "for a while", while she was better than the first time she still acted as if we were imposing on her by being there. At this point one of my friends had a significant scar bump on her nose ring- she asked what she recommended and was rude and again dismissive with her reply. When my friend explained what she had been doing and her reply was "I've never heard of that. It probably won't help." We all received our new jewelry and left. Less than two weeks later my nose had been hurting really bad and was uncomfortable to the point I had to switch to my original jewelry that was too long- I went it and paid for a long one and left. Now, today, 3 weeks later, my stud has been almost pulling through my nose overnight because it was so short. I went in and explained that this was my 3rd nose ring I have had to come out to get and asked her if I needed to pay for it- she made eye contact with me(if I could have read her mind she would have been saying are you fu***** kidding me?) gets the next size up and gives it to me and doesn't say a word. Long story short unless you know 100% what you are talking about with piercings, this girl will make you feel like you know nothing and will not make you feel welcome. I will now not ever return here even if problems arise. Hopefully I can save someone else this trouble. read more

Got 4 new piercings last week, and the price was a little better than I had expected but I'd debated between going here because the location is more convenient and going somewhere else. I probably should have gone somewhere else. Going in I knew their piercer - Chris - isn't great because I'd been pierced by him before and had some issues with it, and so had some of my friends. But it'd been long enough that I'd forgotten, and I was ready to get pierced regardless. I came away with my third love piercings on either side and a double helix on the right. Now I had intended on hoops for the helix piercings and studs foe the lobes. The was the first problem, he started off with studs on my helix despite having been told I think 3 times by me and the (genuinely wonderful) woman running the counter that I was going with hoops up top. I should have said something after the first one but I didn't want him having to take it out and reinsert it, and I didn't mind the look of the stud even though I would have preferred the hoops. So I just decided to change to all studs instead. The real kicker though was how much it hurt when he did the second line piercing (my last one) and how he basically yanked my ear around trying to get the jewelry through. I couldn't figure out why that one had hurt so much more than the cartilage piercings until today when. I went to remove the earrings from my OLD piercings - I had waited a little while because my ears were tender after the piercings and so idd just been spraying them with the saline wash when I was cleaning my new piercings - but I discovered at that point that something crusty had built up on them and was confused. When I got the crusted blood off and the earring removed I found that when Chris had pierced that ear and inserted the new jewelry he'd somehow managed to cut me across my long healed second lobe piercing! Honestly I'm furious, but what can I do. If I complained to them I would just get told that it was probably something I had done since it's been a week and I hadn't checked sooner. But to be that rough with someone that a lobe piercing hurts more than the cartilage and to wind up cutting across their old piercing because you aren't being careful? That's really poor quality. If the earrings I had been wearing when I went to get pierced could have caused a problem he should have asked me to remove them, or maybe he just shouldn't be so rough with his clients. "Painless piercing" my ass. How he still has a job after all these years is beyond me. Someone said that he might be the owner's son? I don't know if that's true but if it does it explains a lot, no one else would hire a piercer that careless. read more

I've gotten 6 piercings here and only one of them has been decent. Me septum is crooked and the male piercer told me it was to counter my crooked nose. I got both sides of my nose pierced and they aren't even. I got my tongue pierced and the jewelry wasn't to code so it left permanent damage to the tissue on the top and the ball always sinks into my tongue. When I got my belly button and Medusa done on the same day he was super rough and I passed out for a few minutes from him tugging so hard on them. The Medusa was so crooked I had to take it out and get it redone at a different shop. Never going back there. Save yourself the pain and spend a bit more money for quality jewelry, piercings, and service. read more

We were impressed. After calling several places for quotes, we decided to come here for my daughter's ear piercings. Located right off of Hogan and Division the parking lot here is somewhat crowded during peak hours. We were able to find parking a little ways down from the shop. We were greeted right when we stepped in the door and the salesperson was able to answer all of our questions having to do with pricing, maintenance of the piercing and healing time. My wife chatted up the person working at the counter and we learned this was a family owned business and that was somewhat newly opened. The place was well maintained with plenty of seating as we waited for the piercings to be completed. They had a good selection of other jewelry and the prices were easy to see. My daughter had 2 regular ear piercings completed on each ear. The price is very competitive and there is a slight discount for the second piercing. There was a little lounge area with comfortable chairs and a TV. It was a nice touch to the place. Overall, we had a great experience and would not hesitate coming back here. The workers were able to answer all our questions and concerns and the prices for everything was made clear. We were also provided with information on caring for the piercing. I went in 2 times in less than a week to have things done. First was replacing tragus jewelry and have my helix repeirced and then yesterday I came back to have my daith done on both sides. Hannah was the very nice and helpful piercer that took care of me. She took her time, explained things even thou she understood I wasn't new to this. Helix was easy. I was worried more about the daith since I heard both it was easy to very painful. Big suprise, one side I felt nothing at all! I was in shock. Second side I did feel a sharp quick pinch and done. Not bad at all. Hannah was awesome. She made sure to explain the aftercare both times regardless of me knowing it. Shop is clean and staff is very nice. My kids and myself have come to this shop before it was in its current location. We will continue to come to this place for our piercing. I have gone here so many times, but always had the ladies help me! Went in to buy some new jewelry $50 worth and have them put in! Chris was the only one available. Went and had my upper lobe put in, my tragus put in and my nose ring! I left feeling like Chris had a bad day and took it out on me! I hurt so bad! A couple days later I was still not able to sleep on my right side! Today I took out the nose piercing that is now infected and was just suppose to have a hoop but in! It was already pierced! ‼NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO HERE ‼ If I could give this place a negative review, I would. There is copious reasons as to why this is THE WORST piercing shop I have ever been too, and I have 12 piercings.. The first time I went here, I got my belly button pierced and I got my smiley pierced. (By Chris) The piercer told me he had done multiple smileys before yet kept asking to see photos of it. The dude ended up piercings through my upper lip instead of my frenulum which was PAINFUL. And then I went and looked in the mirror, noticing the jewelry was super misplaced, but my lip hurt to much to lift and look inside. I asked the piercer why it was so crooked and he said "because it was swollen." Chris later admitted I was the first smiley he had ever done. CLEARLY. I had to go in days later and have it removed because it was so bad. They gave me a free piercing for that, which I got my nose done. The woman pierced me this time. I have no complaints about her. She's always been helpful and nice. As for my belly button they had done, it was super crooked and I ended up removing it, because it looked like trash. I went back there with my complaint so I could get my belly button redone the right way for free. I had them do a top and bottom navel piercing. Both of witch are crooked. Chris did those too. How the fuck do you fuck up a belly button ring?? 3 times. After that I have never gone back. Never will. When I complained last time about my double navel being crooked they offered again to give me free piercings. I don't want free piercings if they are gonna be fucked up too. I want it done right the first time. Y'all are supposed to be professionals. That's why I pay you to do a piercing on me that 13 year old girls are capable of doing in the bathroom at school. Not fond of the guy that does the piercings at all. My friend and I came to him about a year ago to get nose piercings. I went first and it was fine. My friend then went she was so nervous, it being her first time getting a piercing. He told her he 'did this all the time' but he tugged so much I was shocked she began bleeding and you could tell he knew he messed up! He offered to give her a free piercing cleaner, which by the way dried her nose out so bad. After about a week she got a keloid!! We recently went back just to buy a hoop for my nose piercing and he was rude! I just left and definitely Never going back. read more

I didn't want to write a negative review, but it has to be done. On April 22nd 2017, I went in to meet with Ryan to do my Monkey tattoo. This tattoo meant the world to me, I spent two years after my daughters stroke searching for the perfect Monkey in her honor. Finally I had it, it was to be her forever Monkey. The one that would possibly go on her headstone if she were to eventually leave because of her many health issues! Long story short, Ryan botched my tattoo. Instead of making both ears & the body parts match with the color tan. He made ONE ear colored in BLACK!!! one ear!!! I gave him not only a picture to go off of, but VERY clear instructions!!! My heart broke, horrible mistake!!! It's not an easy fix, the ear has to covered over with something else. Which isn't what I wanted. I have to now spend more money trying to fix Ryan's mistake!!! I repeatedly tried asking Ryan (politely) for some sort of a refund to help pay for his error. I was in no way going to let him touch my tattoo again, I couldn't imagine a further screw up. Ryan declined my request, ignored me & regardless how many times I was polite sharing how upset I was. He didn't care & further ignored me. *WARNING: LONG RANT* I had been looking up shops to get my industrial done. I had seen this spot and read the comments and looked like a cool place to go too(I checked it before the last two comments). Decided to stop on Wednesday last week. Everything was fine. Girl at the counter was okay. Did the paperwork and talked like it's a script she has to follow every person that walks in. But she was fine. Tells me to take a seat or will be a minute. 5 minutes passed and this guy walks in smelling like smoke and my mom made a comment I hope that's not who is going to your piercing. But unfortunately it was him. He tells me sit there on the chair and that his name is Chris. Cool, was already feeling pretty sketchy but again comments are about this guy. I tried to pull hair back and he said oh no don't worry I've done this a bunch of times. Not going to lie I was really nervous. And there he goes,cleans it super rough and then said keep breathing and did both holes in a second. I'm like wow that was fast. I'm like cool. All of sudden it starts bleeding and wouldn't stop for 5 minutes. He was sooo rough cleaning the blood, it even went down my shirt. I was so close to just yell at him and tell him take it off just because on how hard he pulling to stop the bleeding. He told me you're a bleeder. Haven't had anyone bleed so much. At this point I felt like i was about to pass out. He tell me okay all done here the sea salt and have a good day. I'm like what do I do with it. He had a mask on and talked so fast. I didn't understand one word he said and tbh i wanted to leave. As soon as I get to my car my ear starts bleeding all over again. Took us forever to control it. Alright fast forward a week I've been doing good, cleaning it and it's still swollen but nothing out of the ordinary. Until I looked at the closest hole and the bar was starting to push out. I got worried. I went to much more professional location and the man looked at it and said it's completely wrong. for an industrial this is not where you want to make the holes. Your ear won't heal right, on one side the bar is about to break cartilage since it was pierced at the edge. He told me it had migrated a lot already. I'm so upset and he said best thing I can do it take off and let heal. The new piercer was way more gentle, took it off and was so much more informative! I can't believe I didn't come to this other place in the first place The last two comments posted is what happened to me. I can't assume he was on something but you never know. I will never ever come here again, and not even for a refund that beyond deserve. read more

The piercer here is awful, do NOT spend your money here or put your body at risk!! I'm pretty sure his name is Chris or something similar, not that he makes any effort to get to know you or make you feel comfortable about the situation. He only wants your money and how he is still licensed is beyond me, although I know the only way he is still employed is because his mommy owns the shop. I went in on a whim on my birthday for a second upper cartilage piercing, having already had one done at my preferred piercer across town last year. Feeling too lazy to drive to Portland, we went down the street. BIG MISTAKE. The total process was probably 5 minutes or less. I was not consulted on the angle of this piercing - of course I wanted one parallel to the closer one I already had and at a similar place in my ear. This did not happen; not until I got home did I realize that when this man violently punched a hole through my ear, he did so at an off angle from my previous piercing and 1cm farther into my cartilage from the location of the other one. I was annoyed, but this is not even my second ear piercing - I have 7 total plus my right nostril - so I figured I could work with it. Unfortunately, it NEVER healed right(unlike the other 8 piercings I've had in my life, all of which I've cleaned and treated the exact same way) so I wasted my money and now will likely have a scar from my first ever keloid after years of getting pierced. If you want to get a piercing, go to a real piercer. I suggest Seven at Ritual Arts Tattoo and Body Piercing on 42nd in Portland. read more
