Love our Murabella Vet Hospital. Everyone loves our boy and takes very compassionate care of him. From day when in critical puppy age, they even got done on the floor and played with him to make him comfortable. They try very hard not to over-stress him as he's become more nervous the bigger he's gotten and all the shots through these first few puppy months. We've had to go almost monthly for all his immunizations etc..They give expert information on his specific breed which is wonderful. They show also how experienced they all are as well. I love that you don't wait in a front lobby area with other animals to over stress also. We walk in get weighed and off we go to our room. From the angels at the front desk (Rylee and Lorali) to the medical professionals who completely saved us last weekend, I never expected to get the 5-star treatment we received from MuraBella Animal Hospital. Friday evening, my baby became lethargic and wouldn't eat. I called Saturday morning to see if I could get an appointment. They were totally booked (they close early on Saturday) and said they could get me in on Monday. When I explained what was going on to Rylee, she stepped into action and took care of us. I dropped him off with this trusted team of professionals, and Dr. Jay diagnosed him, sedated him (after talking to me, of course), and did the necessary procedure to get him back on the road to recovery. They saved us hundreds of dollars by not turning us away to go to an emergency vet. Awesome Nurse Hannah explained everything to me, and sent us on our way. We threw a wrench into their day, but they were so kind and professional, they had the most positive, upbeat attitudes, and truly showed love to my little one. I called MuraBella after our regular vet, had no appointment, and failed to call with a test result. My Macys symptoms were concerning, and needed to be seen. From the first phone call, I was impressed w staff. The staff was responsive to my concerns and got us an appointment that day. Once we arrived, it was obvious that the place is run well. The vet tech got us in an exam room right away. Dr. Drillingas examined Macy, and made Diagnostic testing recommendations, and an estimate of charges beforehand. Once labs and Xray were done ( with my explicit approval ), Dr Drillingas reviewed findings, and treatment plan. Treatment started in the office, and we left w Antibiotic, 2 probiotics, and med to help decrease diarrhea. The next day I got a call to ensure that Macy was responding to treatment. She was. I had gone to a different practice after moving from Oregon in August. I felt like I just did not get the attention to detail with my Macys care. In Oregon, we had always gone to an AHAA accredited Veterinary Clinic. We had great care. With Murabella Animal Hospital, xray, labs we done on site. The treatment plan Dr Drillingas gave Macy was quite Holistic, and comprehensive. I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Drillingas and the staff were incredibly responsive and thorough. My little 12-year-old Irish Terrier was perking up after about 6 hours! Whew! Relief! If you don't have your pet treated at an AHAA accredited Veternary facility, change now. Dr Bell and staff are incredible. My cat Vera was near death for a poorly treated UTI. From a "franchise" vet starts with an F. She developed kidney failure and diabetes from this- lost so much weight - skin & bones. Dr Bell has treated her and brought her back - she has gained 2 pounds. It's unreal the care and knowledge they provide. Best vet ever. Do not trust your pets health to a discount vet- I paid the price. Vera is just 3 years old. Highly recommend. We are from out of town, visiting for two months. Our dog was yelping periodically with pain and we couldn't figure out why. We took him to MuraBella and they were wonderful. After an examination they had several suggestions about what might be wrong and recommended short-term medication that might clear up the inflammation and the pain or, if we wanted, an ultra-sound. We chose the former. The doctor and staff were friendly, Covid safe and conscientious, and very affordable. If Teddy's pain doesn't clear up, we will take him back and have the ultra-sound done. read more

My baby dachshund (he's 10yro but still my baby) jumped up and flipped going for a treat last night. He hurt his right front paw and could barely walk. I brought him in this morning and Dr. Bell and her staff took care of my boy. This is the best veterinarian in the WGV area. They don't try to screw you over monetarily and are awesome to your pets. Turns out my dog pulled a muscle, no break. But also had teeth issues too. So they took care of that too. I'm so happy for this vet to be able to get my baby boy taken care of. We visited Murabella Animal Hospital for the first time for an emergency visit. While the staff was very nice and we were seen quickly, Dr. Drillengas unfortunately misdiagnosed our dog. The lab abnormality, Dr. Drillengas told me was a "lab error" and did not need further treatment/care. Due to this in fact correct value that was concerning, later in the day we had to go to an after hours vet hospital where our dog was admitted overnight. Ironically the clinic bill from Murabella Animal Hospital cost the same as an overnight admission with much more testing and treatment. I would not recommend this clinic due to the missed diagnosis and further emergent care needed. read more

I took my fourth Labrador Retriever here and wish They were around when I had my first 25 years ago!!! From the minute you arrive ( they have a welcoming board out on the front entry welcoming there first time pets) you felt more at home. Zeke has a routing neuter which they kept me up to date vis text throughout the procedure and a follow call the next day. Deby and Dr B were very informative and caring.. I am going to pass on a recommendation Dr B. Mentioned. Going thru more than one canine surgery, I was not looking forward to the "cone of shame".... you now the slobber, banging into your legs, wall clanging and the absolute feel of embarrassment in public!!! Google the SURGICOAT! !!! Didn't have to use the cone at all and the incision was fine ( had our follow up today). They come in various size and colors. I had to make the choice to euthanize my very senior kitty Charlotte Claire. I chose to do a home euthanasia because I know if her last memory was at a vet's office, in a stressful environment, I would never forgive myself and for as much happiness and joy as she brought me, it was worth every penny. I called around to see who could provide this service to us and MuraBella Animal Hospital was able to. When Dr. Bell and Julia arrived, they asked us how we were doing and were very caring and compassionate. They explained how everything worked so there would be no surprises. Our kitty had quite a bit of fight left in her which prevented Dr. Bell and Julia to insert an IV. Instead of stressing her out more, Dr. Bell asked if it would be ok to give her a sedative by injection. I was so impressed that she came prepared for situations like this and it made me feel much better that she genuinely cared so much to make this as easy as possibly for Charlotte, and me too. The sedative was administered and Charlotte was much more relaxed. They were able to euthanize her shortly after, and although it was the toughest thing I have done in my adult life, Dr. Bell and Julia made everything go as smoothly as possible. I cannot be grateful enough for this. They also arranged a private cremation as part of their services. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

They quickly take your money but when you are suppose to get your Dogs next prescription they don't respond, they don't call back, they don't fill the prescription, and then they get upset when they get called out on it. Run from this business all they truly care about is your money. Thank god our family caught this quickly so we can go elsewhere and our Dog will be truly taken care of. Extremely upset and truly disappointed. We are heartbroken due to the poor treatment we received by Murabella Animal Hospital We lost our small 10lb "supposedly healthy" dog at the age of 8 due to a misdiagnosis by this hospital. We were told it was a fatty mass and nothing to worry about on her stomach even after insisting to the vet that we wanted it removed since she had not been spayed and knew it was a risk being on her body after we did some light research. The vet stated that the removal would purely be cosmetic. Instead of testing or having the mass removed we took the advise of what we thought to be a professional vet at the time. Our dog then started having trouble breathing due to fluid build up in her lungs from what we now knew was cancer. And after going to the emergency animal hospital in Jacksonville twice as well as a cancer specialist there was nothing we could do as it had already spread throughout her lungs. Pets to some of us are more than just a pet. Our dog was not only our best friend but truly a part of our little family and our fur baby. She cannot and will not be able to be replaced. The lack of care as well as professionalism from this hospital not only on the phone but in person is very worrisome. I imagine the reply I will get to this review from Murabella Animal Hospital will be some sort of fake sense of care for the loss of our dog or harsh backlash based on reading other reviews they have replied back to on Google and such which is apparently how they approach "customers" rather than patients. Unfortunately we cannot in good faith recommend this hospital for any medical needs your animal may have as in the end it could cost you more than the money out of your pocket but instead your animal entirely. read more

The vet sat on the floor with him for at least 10 minutes observing what he was doing at his level. They did tests and were just very upfront and honest. We are so very grateful for this animal hospital. For the staff and doctors. We are traveling right now and we're unable to make it home before having to make the decision to put our sweet pup to sleep after his short but aggressive battle with cancer. It was one of the hardest days of our lives yet, we could not have asked for a better place or way to say goodbye to our sweet boy. They so graciously allowed us to come to their hospital. The vet tech and all the staff were SO very kind to us, they allowed us to do everything in their beautiful garden outside, they fed our sweet boy a big plate of ice cream (which he loved so much) before we said goodbye, they gave us time with him and were extremely compassionate. It was the hardest yet most beautiful thing to go through yet they made this so very smooth for us. We had an awful experience with the MuraBella Animal Hospital. Our dog had a small growth (Approx. 1 cm wide) on the back of his paw. We brought him into the MuraBella Animal Hospital to have it removed. The growth was removed and we were instructed to keep the cone on him so that he could not bite at the stitches that were inserted, which we did. When we took our dog home his stitches opened up. The problem lies with the way the MuraBella Animal Hospital handled the opening of the stitches. When we brought him back into the office they re-stitched the wound and never put a bandage on it. The very next day, the wound opened up again. At this time the wound looked a lot worse and we were concerned about an infection. We went back in and Dr. Bell said she was going to need to put staples in. Dr. Bell put the staples in without numbing the area or cleaning the wound. Fearful of an infection and more problems down the road, we immediately went to another veterinarian office for a second opinion. At the new veterinarian office, they had to remove all of the stitches and staples and treat the dog for an infected wound. The 1 cm growth at this point had escalated to a 5 cm open wound with an infection so bad that the tissue was thin and stretched out. Therefore, they were not able to put any stitches back on. We contacted the MuraBella Animal Hospital to express our findings and concerns and we were told they stand by their ethics, values and decisions of how they treated our dog. Our 11 month old dog will now have a large scar that will never go away. I'm so thankful that we went and got a second opinion because had the new doctor not addressed the infection, the damage would have been even more severe than it already was. In closing, we will never return to the MuraBella Animal Hospital and we strongly encourage you to do your research before choosing the MuraBella Animal Hospital. read more
