    Eating!
    Edith L.

Happy Saturday! Just seven days ago, I was in the ER with my grandpup while my daughter was at work. He was fighting for his life, and thanks to the incredible care of (Eco Vets) hospital, he has come such a long way. I want to sincerely thank everyone generosity, prayers, and support have meant more than words can express. We still have a long road to recovery, but what brings me joy that he's eating again and making slow, steady progress. I'm staying hopeful and trusting God every step of the way. In Jesus' name, thank you all so much for standing with us. . Hunter and Nick were incredibly gentle, thorough, and kind. They took the time to explain every aspect of Psalm's care and the bill, which we truly appreciated. A huge thank you to the amazing team at Eco Vets Hospital for the exceptional care they provided. We highly recommend this hospital and their staff! While the care is expensive, the compassion, expertise, and attention they give are worth every penny. They are absolutely amazing! Thank you!

    Winston 2018 - 2025

If you have the time, please read this -- we want no other family to experience what we did. On Sunday, 11/23, our seven-year-old pup suddenly began breathing rapidly and couldn't walk without help. UrgentVet sent us to EcoVets, where we were told his heart rate was over 300 and that their cardiologist would be in on Monday, 11/24. We were advised to leave him overnight so they could monitor him and perform the echocardiogram first thing in the morning. But the next morning, we received a call saying EcoVets did not have a cardiologist available and that we'd need to go to the University of Florida in Gainesville instead. When we explained what we had been told the night before, we received no apology or empathy -- only that they had "read the schedule wrong." Had we known that, we would have driven to Gainesville that evening or first thing Monday morning. After several calls back and forth, EcoVets decided to call around town and eventually found someone who could come in that day to perform the echo. Unfortunately, once it was done, no one at EcoVets was able to read it. They told us they would send the files to UF for interpretation. At 6 PM, we received the call every pet owner fears -- our pup was coding, and CPR was underway. I arrived ten minutes later and watched as they tried to save him, but they could not. After saying our goodbyes, we were told that the echo results had actually never been sent to UF because they were sending the wrong file format, despite having assured us earlier that everything had already been sent. Amid all the confusion, one staff member showed real compassion. He spoke to us kindly, treated Winston with dignity, and was genuinely sorry for our loss. His empathy meant a great deal during an unbearable moment. While we are grateful for that one individual, the overall experience -- marked by miscommunication, conflicting information, and a lack of sensitivity -- left us devastated. We hope no other family has to face the same confusion during such a critical and emotional time.

Taco with his lick sleeve. (provided by the vet)

Dr Darrow and team were amazing and super helpful the whole process. We had tplo surgery for my boy Taco. They made the whole process simple and were very detailed and made it easy to understand what to do during his recovery. They make it really easy with the option to text with any questions and are typically really good about responding in a timely manner. We just had our last follow up and taco is healing really well I'm very grateful for the team at eco vets

The staff helped us very quickly at 10pm on a Wednesday night. Brought our dog right back and we were only in there for about 15-20 mins total. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. Will be back.

Experience at EcoVets has been great so far, staff has been very attentive and supportive throughout our pets treatment. Dr. Darrow takes his time explaining treatment and making sure you understand what is going on with your pet. I would definitely come back if needed and highly recommend specially for orthopedic needs!

I would not bring my pet here. We had a terrible experience and had to take our sick animal elsewhere because of the poor care.

I took my Bulldog Butters here to understand why he was having a seizure like event (turned out to be syncopes) in his sleep, but only during deep sleep, then losing control of his bladder. Let's get right to business, this place runs a massive imaging scam. They will tell you they think that your pet has a tumor on their heart, do untold thousands worth of scans, let you worry all weekend, and then when you take him back in they tell you "He doesn't have a tumor, he has severe sleep apnea and he's losing oxygen due to it, we can operate tomorrow." Already out multiple thousands of dollars due to this scam, I obviously agree to pay $3200 for this surgery (that usually runs MAXIMUM $1000) to make sure my best buddy is feeling okay. They've run tests, his red blood cell count is down but assure me in a day or two he can have his surgery. I drop Butters off for surgery, pay them $3200, and am worried sick. At noon, they call and tell me he made it through surgery, everything is fine. I'm ecstatic, can finally rest and pick him up the next day. At 3:30, I get a call that my best bud is no longer with us, and that the "surgeon" wanted to put him back under because his breathing got heavier to "Trim some swelling off". Now I'm not a doctor, but I know bs when I smell it. They did not have permission to put him back under, and my buddy died so the dr could go home. Furious, I come up to the vet, and see my little boy lying dead on a rolling cart, and they bring me a receipt for the bill, tell me it will be $350 to cremate him, and $50 if I want his paw print. AFTER THEY KILLED HIM. I tried to talk to the surgeon, who ducked me at all costs. I ended up speaking to their anesthesiologist, who barely spoke English, and had conflicting stories from the surgeon, and I caught both of them in several lies. They never checked butters red blood cell count, and did not properly treat him post surgery (IE Mandatory oxygen tent and intubated until they can't stand it anymore, I learned he was only intubated for several minutes after and thrown in a cage, then given a downer to calm his breathing, prior to dosing him to put him back under which ultimately stopped his heart). I had Oklahoma State University and Texas A&M BOTH review Butters case over the past year and they said its the most absurd case of vet negligence that they've ever seen and I should reach out via lawyers. Not to mention the people running the phones and the desk for whatever reason act like you aren't worth their time and they have somewhere better to be. Obviously because they killed my friend I disputed the transaction for the surgery where they killed him on my card, which this place then disputed??? They told me the surgeon was no longer with them, and I should sue him if I felt so inclined. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

I found Just Like Home on a google search and called the owners. They were very accommodating and let me come by immediately for a meet and greet. Paul and Katie were very friendly and reassuring. My dogs took to them and had a blast during the short encounter. So, I boarded my dogs with them for a night the next day. Some things I'd like to highlight is that they have a spacious fenced in yard and a doggie door so the dogs can come and go as they please. My little brats could learn how to be dogs in a pack. Food is included and provided. They provide high quality grain free food that my dogs love and they leave it out so the dogs can graze. This is good if your dog eats when it's hungry. However, my dogs, being puggles, ate non-stop and Paul and Katie had to put the food up. They just fed my dogs like pigeons throughout the day instead. This is something you might want to consider if your dog has special dietary needs and will eat everything in sight. But apart from one of my dogs overeating till his all you can eat buffet was thwarted, all is good. Oh Katie is a nurse and she's able to put eye drops or whatever your dog needs. My dogs are fine, but it's something you might want to consider when picking a boarding place for your dogs. Best part about Just Like Home is that the dogs can go on the furniture and sleep with humans. My dogs lay on Paul and Katie and watched tv and slept with Paul at night. (Sorry, Paul, I know my dogs are walking heat packs.) I'm relieved that my dogs can get the human contact and attention that they crave. I don't have to feel bad that they are crying in a suite at some other boarding place. When I went to pick the dogs up, one of them came up to greet me, then ran back off to play with his friends. He didn't want to leave. The other one is a total momma's boy, so he stayed by me while we tried let the first one know that it was time to go home. Also, the rates here are very reasonable. I'll definitely take my dogs there again if I need to board them while I'm in Jacksonville.

Katie helped my little almost blind AnnieRose learn to use a doggie door and navigate some little steps into the house. Katie is a nurse and she was fabulous about making sure AnnieRose got her eye drops faithfully. I don't think there is a more loving place to leave my little ones. I also have two cats and my boy cat needs medication every day. He takes it fairly easy, but you still need somebody who knows what they're doing. So the first visit in the morning is a 45 minute visit the dogs get fed,and they take the time to go outside and really play with the dogs and throw the ball for them and make sure they get their exercise. While they're outside, she came in and gave the cats their wet food and the one his medicine and also cleaned out and checked the litter boxes and the water daily. On either of my first or second day, I got a phone call that there was a lot of blood in the house and one of my cats was bleeding profusely. She sent me a photo and I know the cat had a little red raspberry in that spot and I assume that either he bit it off or it got scratched off. it was quite a bit of blood and it wouldn't stop. Between Dana and Charlotte they took the cat to the vet who numbed the area and did something to stop the bleeding They also knew a Carpet Cleaner who came in the very next day and cleaned my chairs and the carpet. Dana and Charlotte went through and thoroughly cleaned my house because there was blood on the walls, on the floor, and everywhere I can't imagine another pet sitting company going to the degree that they went to to make sure my animals were safe and that my house and furniture was not ruined oh, and every visit I got several photos of each animal, which made me happy as well
